I am a regular at Ocean Ride in Long Beach for about 8 months now and attend their classes 2 - 3 times a week. I absolutely love it there! The owners, instructors & staff are all very welcoming, helpful & motivating. Whether its your 1st class or your 100th, the staff is always making sure you are comfortable and properly situated in your bike, ready for the ride. They post their schedule on their website for the upcoming week every Monday at 9:00 am where you can reserve your bike for the desired class/classes you want to take that week (Tuesday-Sunday). If a class is full you will be put on a wait list & if bike opens up they will notify you. There are many class times to choose from to fit your own personal schedule starting as early as 5:45am to 7:30pm. The "Ocean Ride" class if 50 minutes & the "Ocean Strength" class is 60 minutes which also involves light hand weights for a portion of the class as well. You have the choice to purchase a single ride for $18 and they have packages of 5, 10, 20, 40 rides & as well as unlimited monthly rides. The facility is always very clean & the bikes are brand new in great condition. All bikes are compatible for either spin shoes or regular sneakers so you have the choice to ride in what you feel most comfortable in. I have taken most of the instructors classes at the studio and while they each have a slightly different style of how they teach their class, what they do have in common is that they are all highly trained & motivated to give you the best work out they can in the time you are there. There is an instructor there suitable for everyone's comfort zone and what each individual is looking for. My personal favorite instructor they have is Margy. I enjoy a high energy & intense work out with upbeat music and I always walk out feeling amazing. If you haven't been here yet, I highly suggest you check it out, you have nothing to lose but probably 700 calories a class so it can't hurt right!? The more I go the more I love this studio... Jackie's and Liz rides are my favorites so far for endurance and strength. I'm addicted to their classes. I love Grainine music and dance moves. I had an awesome experience tonight at Ocean Ride. Liz gave a great class. I had both a great workout and a relaxing experience. I wasn't relaxed in the sense of intensity. She made us work! I just really enjoyed the vibe and the motivation. She made sure that we all listened to our bodies without going too easy on ourselves. I also enjoyed the electric candles and music. That gave the ambiance a nice touch. It's also very clean. Sanitizing wipes are available. The members of the studio always make sure to wipe down their bikes. Although the instructor knew that we cleaned our bikes off, she cleaned each bike off anyway afterwards. Outside the studio, the front desk is very helpful. You are given a locker without having to pay any rental fees. Towels are small, but at least they are included. The clothes they sell are also super cute. I couldn't help but buy this fringe crop top designed by Liz. It says "Greetings from Long Beach, Rebuild the beach." The shirt was inspired by Long Beach's recovery after Hurricane Sandy. The profits go towards local charities. I just had to support them (plus the shirt is way too cute!) I definitely look forward to taking another class there the next time I come back to visit my family on Long Island. It's a few blocks from the beach. You can easily go to them in the morning and then go tan on the beach right afterwards! Highly recommended! read more

I moved to LB from BK a month ago, and really wanted to find a gym option. After reading reviews I decided to check this place out, and I was instantly hooked. What I've noticed is this place has a lot of regulars, and some have been very friendly. I think it's easy to tell who's on the newer side at the location. I love Jackie and Liz, however everyone has their own energy and everyone has their favorite. I actually have a spin class, but I love the energy I get from the two instructors. They take ClassPass and it's max 6 credits, but only issue in LB there is only 2 paces, ocean ride and yoga studio. I really like this place and my favorite classes are Power Ride 60 mins and ocean wave 45min. Also, if you've never been you do a online sign up and your first class is on them. Worth it. read more

What an awesome place to cycle when it's cold outside. Rebecca the instructor was friendly, experienced, and energetic. The music was amazing! My only curiosity is the fact that this place is in Long Beach very close to the beach and still continues to use wet wipes which are detrimental to our environment. It's my hope that more businesses in Long Beach take the initiative to use their facilities as an example to Promote a more ecologically friendly environment. Using a biodegradable or eco friendly spray and washable towels would be a better solution. read more

First time here today and everyone was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful! The studio is clean and towels were provided on the bikes. They use Schwinn bikes with a monitor so you can see your RPM. I clipped in using SPD cleats, but they have cages and some have delta clips I believe. Music was great and instructor was encouraging and checked in on the riders. Will gladly be going back during my stay in LB! read more

This is a very fun spinning studio in Long Beach. The teacher had an eclectic play list and a fun attitude. I got a kick of when he yelled "mush" like we were Siberian huskies in Alaska. It was a hoot and a half. read more

A great place to ride is Oceanride Cycling studio in Long Beach. The owner Stephanie always makes participants feel welcome and respected. The studio is well kept. The instructors are so motivating, creating challenging classes, using great music and offering inspirational words. There is an atmosphere of belonging and comfort whenever you walk in the door. Whoever is at the front desk is ready to help and assist. It is often Barbara and she is kind and courteous at all times. I have made some great friends at the studio. I have been working out for over a year now and in the process I have lost 41 pounds. Throughout that time, I maybe did spin once a week and thats even alot. I am not a fan of spin but after trying out Ocean Ride, I am a total fan now! They make exercising fun all while giving you a kick ass workout. I leave each time drenched in a pool of sweat. All the instructors I have tried so far have been great with each of them having their unique style of leading the class. The studio is super clean and spacious and high tech. I love that I can understand each instructor clearly all the while having my heart pumping to awesome music. Everyone is very friendly. They even give out free towels at the beginning of each class. I am now a fan of spin and look forward to my classes at Ocean Ride. Give them a try! You wont be sorry and the first class is always free. I know you will be hooked after the first time like I was. I am new to Island Park and decided to try this place out after my cousin recommended it to me. The studio is very clean, and the staff is friendly. During class, all lights are turned out and the room is lit with electric candles. There is a fan in each corner of the room and the temperature of the room was comfortable. I had an excellent ride with instructor Stacy. She incorporated weights into the class and her music was awesome. A few bikes were squeaky which was a little annoying, but other than that, I would recommend this place to anyone who loves spin or soul cycle. read more

I've been going to Ocean Ride now since April and I love it. The studio is clean, the owners are great people and the instructors are wonderful. The studio is small so everyone feels like part of the class. All levels are welcome and they have various classes every day. Love supporting this community business. You can buy by the class or packages, no membership required which is great. So happy Ocean Ride is part of Long Beach. I highly recommend it. I found Ocean Ride exactly a year ago and gave it a try as I was lacking encouragement to work out at the gym on my own. The first class (which was free woo!) was extremely hard and I was out of breath midway wanting to quit, but after it, I felt amazing. I went back again, then I bought a 5 class package to try it out, then 10 class and now I'm a monthly unlimited class holder! I've seen my body change in a positive way as I am leaner and stronger with more stamina to power through a class and other physical activities and workouts. Jackie, Liz and Margy are all really great instructors and have their own styles and techniques. I also really like that there are a variety of classes including Ocean ride, strength, power and wave, as they work your body in different ways. I also really like that you can wear spin cleats or sneakers (don't have to rent like soulcycle). The only thing I would change would be to add more 730 or 8pm classes (I commute to the city and can make the 730pm classes once in a while) and have the 'unreserve a class' time a little later in the day like 9pm the night before. Regardless, I will continue to be an Ocean Rider and encourage my friends and family to attend classes with me all the time! read more
