This review is for the Oceanside location as I've never been to the Freeport one. My mom gave me a groupon for 10 sessions, which I truly enjoyed. Shana is a great instructor - all of my classes were with her in the Gentle Beginners class. I always felt stretched afterwards - something that I was looking forward to starting a yoga routine. She always would walk around the room as well and give independent help. read more

I tried some of the yoga classes here (yin, warm vinyasa, vinyasa 1-2). If you are looking for a good workout, like the yoga classes at a gym or exhale or bikram, this is not it. I saw people sweat 2 or 3 times in the 7 classes I took while home for Thanksgiving. This place focuses more on relaxation and de-stressing. I wish they set limits on the number of people in each class because the room can get packed. Be sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early to get a space for your mat. I like that they offer many classes a day, more than other studios in the area I researched before picking this one. All of the instructors were clear and helpful with adjusting poses. read more

I received a Groupon as a birthday gift for the salt room therapy. Three 20 minute sessions. So far I've used one. The room is big enough to where it doesn't make me feel claustrophobic but actually cozy. The salt is scattered on the ground, there are blankets to lay or cover with. There is a 3D structure with lights that dim and change colors. Music is heard but not loud enough to disturb your inner peace. Nothing is really explained unless asked. It was an interesting first session. There is a timer (not easily heard) but the girl at the front desk gives a courtesy knock on the door. I think 30 mins per session would have made much more sense to get a better feel. I did feel calmer (you're away from phone and others for 20 mins) that's peaceful in itself. read more

My mother attends this yoga studio, and is thrilled to have found a place that respects and celebrates the differences in ability levels for all yoga members. The classes often have students of varied levels practicing alongside one another, and the instructors encourage all participants to push themselves. Additionally, my mother has a disability and the teachers here allow her to wear her shoes into the yoga studio until she sets up her mat - something many yoga studios prohibit. She has had a great experience thus far, and I am thrilled to hear she found a place where she feels comfortable and challenged. Oh! I almost forgot! My mother is also retired and said that the classes have a diverse range of ages. When she attends the mid-morning classes, she is often amongst peers her own age, which allows for a more comfortable practice experience. read more

Not only is BNF the best yoga studio around town, Leah and Manny are stewards for the environment. As part of their charity yoga Fridays, they have collected and donated over $1500 for Operation SPLASH to help with the clean up effort on the waterways of the South Shore of Long Island. The classes and instructors are good. The male receptionist is super unprofessional and isn't welcoming at all. Sometimes a receptionist that is as unfriendly as he is almost always deters current business and potential referrals. This yoga studio is great with lots of positive people, positive energy, and amazing classes. The studio is beautiful, comfortable and very clean!! There is a large variety of classes and class times that are very reasonable especially if you get the monthly plan. I had been doing yoga for years but never found a comfortable space that was convenient so I did a lot of yoga at home and occasionally would go into the city or out east for a class. This summer when I was pregnant my wish came true when I was driving by the studio and saw the sign "PRENATAL YOGA". My first class with Leah was amazing and ever since then I have been hooked. LOL!! The prenatal program is great not only do you get a great work out that makes you, your baby and your body feel great but you can also meet other yoga mommies going through the same things that you are. I truly believe that these classes were responsible for making me feel great and strong during my pregnancy as well as the positive energy and friendly atmosphere that Leah provided. After my baby was born I started doing Mommy & Me Yoga when she was 10 weeks old and she loved it!!! The Mommy & Me classes give us the opportunity to enjoy yoga together and to meet other mommies and babies. My daughter loves and enjoys doing the poses and seeing the other babies in the class. I have also taken many other classes in the studio and have enjoyed them all! Leah and Manny have created a beautiful environment!! We are so happy for their vision!! read more

It didn't take long for me to begin fantasizing about leaving work half an hour early to make the 4pm community yoga class Fridays @ Breathe N Flow, until now where this ritual has become soooooo necessary for re-centering myself and recharging my batteries for the weekend transition. The studio is a lil peace of serenity carved out on Atlantic Avenue. Expect lovely smelling aromatherapy hand soap in the bathroom, beaded door changing room, friendly staff, orderly props (blocks, mats, bands, blankets) and simply outfitted. The deal with the community donation class is that a different charity is chosen for each month to receive collections. Thumbs up for a studio that is wise in paying it forward. PS I love how the clock is not on the wall facing the front of the room (and i don't need to see the time because I'm wanting the class to last). Oh and the children's yoga room is colorful, welcoming, warm and inviting. I imagine the kiddies just adorably doing giraffe pose. :) read more

They were nasty when I arrived for my scheduled appointment. I called in the morning and scheduled an appointment for that afternoon. When I arrived I found out they doubled booked me. And even though the other person said she would wait they took her in first. I had to wait half an hour to book another appointment. The gentleman behind the desk make no apologies no did he try to resolve the situation. Bad customer service and that is unfortunate because the place looks nice and I liked the treatment. read more

I had my first of 20 classes I bought through Groupon and I could not be more pleased with my choice to start yoga here! I took a beginner class with Sheena (?). She was great! It was slow and easy. She came over when she saw I needed help. Manny worked the desk. He was very welcoming and informative. This place is very clean. Nice layout. Decorated appropriately. I have been practicing yoga at this studio on average 2-3 times a week for a few month. I also practice at a few other places. This is a nice yoga studio with good teachers and pleasant environment. Nice, clean yoga studio with a ton of different classes to choose from. Pre-natal classes are a little chatty for my taste and classes don't always start on time. Instructors lead challenging classes that are totally accessible for any yogi regardless of skill level. Studio is more than willing to work with students who need to freeze their accounts. read more

I would give a 10 for my personal experiences but as far as recommendations to others, I know people who only like yoga for exercise purposes and don't enjoy the "OM" part of it. I love incorporating a spiritual/mindfulness component to yoga but it's not for everyone. I always walk in with my mind swirling with tension and by the time I'm done, I feel peaceful and full of gratitude. My only suggestion is to hang a curtain in bathroom corridor entrance for better feng shui (Oceanside location). Overall, at both locations, the environment is very warm, welcoming, and has a wonderful energy. Both locations are also supplied with more than enough of every prop needed. I also love that footwear is not allowed in the studio. read more

I moved to Freeport a few months ago from Suffolk county and have been looking for a really good local yoga studio. I'm excited that BNF is super close to home. I bought the 2 week unlimited new member package and with my busy schedule have only made it to two classes in Oceanside. Both classes I've never taken before. Yinyasa with Jenna was intense but it left me feeling amazing. I also took the Wheel flow class with Jenna, Loved it!! I've practiced with my wheel at home but this class really taught me a lot and I will definitely take it again. Jenna is a great instructor. The studio is clean, spacious enough and welcoming. Very excited that I found BNF to continue my practice and explore further. read more

This is great studio to introduce yourself to yoga, or to strengthen your practice. The owners are great, here the concentration is the yoga and not the bottom line. The instructors are really great and as helpful as you wish.I always feel better on many levels after a class, especially the next morning, no AM backache or soreness. The classes are generally good, but classes at night and the weekends are packed! If you don't get there 15 minutes to wait in the compact waiting area before a class you chance not be allowed in because of the crowds. I have been turned away two times which is very annoying after making the effort to sprint there after work. For people who don't work, maybe the daytime is better. I doubt I will sign up for classes after my Groupon is done due to the crowds. read more
