I have never taken reformer pilates before, and saw that Club Pilates had a dedicated intro class. This is what ultimately led to me trying the studio while visiting my brother in NY. The studio was clean and welcoming, not intimidating for a first timer. The instructors went through the machine and the movements thoroughly. The Merrick studio is fantastic. It's spacious, super clean, and has premium equipment. The front desk staff is welcoming and friendly--eager to help. I have not have much class experience with many instructors because my availability is limited to a certain time of the day. So, my class experience has been mostly with Andrea. She is incredible. I very much like approach. She's always observing to make sure our form is correct and that we are moving safely around the equipment. She also, engages herself and demos along with the class the more complicated moves. I am very happy with this studio and I highly recommend it. read more

I just completed my 8th class and I'm absolutely loving the learning experience and how my body is responding to the Pilates movements. There are several class package options available, making it flexible based on your needs. While some may consider it pricey, I find the cost comparable to other boutique fitness studios and honestly, it's worth every penny. The workouts are incredibly effective and quickly become addictive in the best way. All of the instructors at the Merrick studio, including the owner, Allen, are exceptional. They're patient, knowledgeable, and take the time to personalize the experience--even in a group setting--especially if you have injuries or specific concerns. I've also seen comments about classes being fully booked, but from my experience, joining the waitlist has always worked out. People often cancel due to scheduling conflicts, and I've never had trouble getting in. Highly recommend if you're looking to switch up your fitness routine with something that challenges you and feels great! read more

To say I was intimidated by the unknown of Pilates would be an understatement. I thought Pilates was something the Hollywood elite did - luckily, my friend recommended we try an intro course. Dr. Cordie was so motivating and encouraging, I honestly can't wait to go back. He kept reminding us what the purpose of each activity was, how it can impact certain areas of the body, and why it is important to work to where you are comfortable. Not sure if anyone else here has joined the new Club Pilates of Merrick, but please be warned if you do! We took an intro class at the end of April and liked it and were then PRESSURED to sign up within the next 72 hours for a discount. We did that and then waited THREE WEEKS for the studio to be cleared to open. We were completely understanding that the permits weren't completed for opening; however we would have preferred transparency. We kept calling and checking in because no schedules were posted and they acted like we were being ridiculous and annoying for inquiring. They gave us 2 extra classes to make up for this, to which we were grateful. However, they neglected to let us know they EXPIRED after a certain date until AFTER they expired and they wouldn't reinstate them. Alan (who works there) actually said "What can I do to make you happy?" and when we said please give us an extension on those 2 extra classes again because no one told us they expired, he refused. He kept rambling on and on about how successful they were (despite a not good business etiqutte). We cancelled our membership today and may look into other Club Pilates that are NOT associated with Merrick to see if they have better customer service than here. Very disappointing and wanted to warn others. read more
