I really loved attending class here while in NY and will be back! The space is so cute and the…read moreclasses are fun. The bathroom is stocked with some great products although the 2 times I went they were empty. I know it's a newer studio but I did deduct one star because I think there is some room for improvement. I take a lot of heated classes and normally towels are provided for either the mat or a face towel to dry off. This studio doesn't offer any and your only option is to purchase one. In addition, after using equipment, normally there is a separate basket at the end of class to drop off your sweaty used items, however at this studio you just hang them right back up for the next person to use. I don't think that's the best option especially the ankle / hand weights that soak up all the sweat. Overall I really liked the class & can't wait to see the improvements as they grow!

I suggested Pilates to a friend who was looking to increase flexibility, and we chose Body in Balance LI because it was close to work. Susan set us up with duet sessions so we can work out together, and she accommodates our different needs and skill levels (as a newcomer and long(ish)-time practitioner) almost seamlessly. Her instructions are easy to follow and her tactile feedback is immensely helpful. I recommend Body in Balance LI for both someone who's been practicing for a long time and someone newly interested in Pilates.

Ya, so COVID. I'm…read morestuck in the house, my workout game is shit, and the scale is not my friend. Luckily, I've got my TRX straps and BeachFIT Training to get my ass back in the game. I rocked a virtual TRX class with Mike (cuz I'm stuck all the way in Chicago and the commute would be hell), and he killed it. The video quality and sound was great, and the camera was in the perfect place. Too many times virtual classes are an afterthought during live classes, but Mike's cues and demos of the moves made it super easy to follow along. We rocked intervals with moves at our own pace, and then returned to the moves moving in unison together as a group (think 3 seconds up, 1 second down, etc.). It gave us a real chance to master the moves while burning out the correct muscle group. The playlist kicked ass, I appreciated the modifications offered, and it was a full body workout. Final verdict? Virtual workouts done right. Now get your ass to virtual class!
