My husband and I have started the Treasure Coast Beer Trail, and Ocean Republic has been our favorite so far! Despite the location in a shopping center, they have turned their large corner unit into a unique, welcoming, local craft brewery. The giant octopus mural and muted blue and gray color palette give that beachy feel. We ordered the Way Down South IPA and New Skool Pale Ale. Both were great, but the Pale Ale is perfect if you're like me and don't enjoy a super hoppy taste. For food, we ordered the pork sliders and spinach artichoke dip. The chips and dip were on point! So much better than other places where you can tell it's been frozen or just generic in flavor like a large chain. This was gooey, flavorful, and served HOT. Our server Katrina was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. She was super kind to our large dog and kept the giant water bowl full and icy. Next time we're in the Stuart area, we will definitely be back to Ocean Republic. read more

This is a great little brewery. They have a 5 barrel system and make everything on tap, except the cider. They rotate new beers on as the others run out. Rarely do they make the same thing twice unless it is a big hit. We did a flight and tried 7 of their beers. They were all exceptional. I like hazy east coast style IPA's and they had two on tap that were delicious. Their west cost style was also great with a good hoppy flavor. The lager and kolsch were also very good. The one that stole the show was a Blueberey Cobbler sour. It was like taking a bite of a blueberry pie. Service was fantastic and very friendly. read more

I love this place. I have been a few times and always had great service, great food and great beer. The beer cheese should be bottled and distributed and the freshly made spinach and artichoke dip is another new fave. We like to try new beer as hobby and we found a bunch of different ones we liked from IPAs to Porters (Porter w/ Bacon? WHAT? yum!). Of course what can make or break a visit to any establishment is personality and Gina, the bartender/server we had, BOY DID SHE HAVE PERSONALITY! Sometimes in life timing is everything. We happened to visit Ocean Republic Brewing on their soft opening Friday July 26th. Parking was really tight and I thought that would be a problem for a venue of this size, but after meeting some of the locals, they explained that that parking lot had never been that full before. The place is brand new, clean, and has some need decorations. The main tap room is large and it was packed for the soft opening. Still with it being packed, they were staffed well enough to give good service. We walked into the packed bar and waited less than a minute to get our beers. There was an outside area in the back with umbrella tables and games like corn hole. There were kids out there and dogs. Which let's me know the place is family friendly. Since it was a soft opening they would only give full pours which I understand, but was disappointing. We had already done a flight of 18, plus two more beers before we got here. Still, the beer was good. I tried the Kolsch, one of the IPAs, and a Stout. Also had a cucumber beer which I only drank half of. It was good, but would have been better for me in a 5 oz pour. We were hanging out with a bunch of the local brewers who kept saying that cucumber should be in salad not in beer. Still I liked it and would return to have another, just not a full pour. They had a small menu. We had the poutine which was good, and a fig and pork belly flat bread, which was way more fig that pork belly. In my opinion it was way too sweet, like a dessert. It was so sweet it didn't pair well with any of the beers. I would love to give Ocean Republic Brewing five stars, and they have the potential to earn the five stars. Checked the hours. Left our location to go for some Christmas cheer. Walked in and they were mopping the floor and told us they are closed and their sign says so. Well the sign on one the left said open til 6 and then another sign said 4. The Facebook page said 6. In this day and age it's pretty easy to update Facebook. Decided to check this place out while on vacation because it advertised being family friendly. Worst decision! When we walked in there was no one at the hostess station or any signage simply saying seat yourself. After about 5 minutes of waiting a staff member behind the bar finally told us we could seat ourselves. We chose a table outside. This table was so grimey and sticky, it seemed it hadn't been wiped down in ages. Our waiter brought over a couple menus, said I'll be back with a kids menu, then simply disappeared. After about 15 minutes he finally re-emerged and asked to take our order (having never even brought us a kids menu - thankfully I had pulled it up online). We placed our order for two appetizers, two beers, and a kids cheeseburger. Super simple. The food was dreadfully bad!! We ordered the pub wings on tap, with the flavor listed sticky. Well, they were sticky, but I would just call the flavor burnt. We also ordered the pulled pork poutine. The fries alone were fine, but the rest was disgusting. The gravy simply tasted like warm grease, the pulled pork was actually just chunks of a dry pork roast, and the cheese curds tasted like they tried to deep fry cream cheese. They were sooo bad! Now onto the kids cheeseburger. When I tore it in half the burger was completely raw inside!! Definitely not suitable for anyone let alone a child!! We sent it back and then waited NEARLY 30 MINUTES for another one!!! It's a hamburger - it's not rocket science. The beers were fine, it definitely not worth going back for. read more

I got the impression the food had been microwaved. Very disappointed in Ocean Republic today. Let me start off by saying we have been here several times since they opened. The beers are consistent and good. They have a kitchen, food is decent and the service is great. However, today when we stopped for lunch and a beer, this is what greeted us on the drink menu. This is a good place to get a beer and a burger. I tried two different beers and had a mushroom Swiss burger that was delicious. But here's what bothered me: I got my check and I was ready to give my waitress/bartender Tina a 20% tip. The bill showed the calculations for 18%, 20% and 22% tips, which is fine, but the calculations are wrong! A 20% tip on a 26.10 bill should be 31.32, not 32.02. As a Stuart resident I really wanted to love this place. How exciting to have a brewery here - plus a seemingly impressive food menu that goes beyond your typical bar food. I did love some things - the decor and vibe were super cool and the patio looks awesome. You can tell a lot went into making this place come to fruition. The beers were decent for a new brewery. I liked the saison and berliner and my husband liked the IPAs. We both got two flights, trying 8 of their beers, plus he ordered another pint. Here's the downfall. The food menu is overpriced for the quality we got. No one checked in with us the entire time we were eating. I don't mind paying $16 for a burger if it's amazing and you can actually cook it to the temperature I ordered. I ordered medium-rare and it was well done. The beer cheese sauce leaked out of the burger and was all over the tray, so the burger was swimming in it, making the bun a wet mess. Also, the beer cheese sauce was overwhelming in amount yet, bland and unsavory in flavor, overtaking the whole burger. We got the sriracha honey spice wings for $13 on receipt (menu read $12) and the sauce was all honey, no Sriracha. The honey sriracha sauce had a flavor of profile of a glazed donut, it needs to be spicy with a hint of sweet, not all sugar. For the large portion of wings, they served the blue cheese (which tasted only like buttermilk) in a tiny little ramekin half-full - enough for 2 wings. When I jokingly said we'll need more blue cheese than that, they brought another and charged me .50 cent for it, as I later saw on the bill. Who cares about the .50 but come on, nickle and diming me like that isn't cool, when the serving was half empty to begin with. If the beef in the tri-tip poutine ($12) really is wagyu then cook it like such, don't slice it super thin and overcook it. This was probably the best of the three dishes. Like I said, no one checked in on our meal while we were eating but I told the bartender about the burger after we were done as feedback to the chef that it was well-done and offered to show the pic posted here but she declined to look at the pic and said she wished we said something before. No comp for the burger, and no mention that she would pass on the feedback. She offered us two beers instead and even though we didn't want to drink anymore, we accepted. I was happy to see a good amount of wine options, but many of the glass prices $12-$16 is pretentious and absurd, for a casual brewery. Overall, the food menu is trying to be foodie but missing the mark. For 2 flights, one beer, and 3 food items, plus over 20% tip, we spent $90, which is ridiculous for what we got. I think we'll let them work out some of the food kinks before we'll be back and I'll update this review. read more

Yeah!! Martin county now has a microbrewery!! This s exciting . Very cute interior with a huge octopus mural and a wave like bar all to go along with ocean theme. We had a flight of their own brew and each was unique and very good. My two favorites were the Sunray and Sessions. The food was very good. I especially liked my side salad. Next time I will order an entree salad. My salad had chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, Bibb butter lettuce and an amazing dressing. The staff was super friendly. I don't live in Stuart, but if I did I would be a regular here. First off, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our waitress remembered our daughter and what beers we liked two months between visits. That's incredible service. It is kids friendly and they have a space outside for them to play. I really liked their pickle beer and their lager. They have awesome specials so make sure to follow their insta to see what they have going. I have had many items from their menu and have never been disappointed. On thursdays they have dollar oysters. YUM. They also have an awesome Octopus murail for great pictures for your social media. Decided to come here one day after work one day, little bit of a drive but the beers are pretty good, decent selection. My husband and I both got flights. 4 beers each, I tried the cucumber ale, hibiscus pale, inlet IPA and the shipwrecked IPA. We also got the fried mac n cheese egg rolls. The cucumber ale is a nice and light beer, the hibiscus is certainly floral but not too much, still a nice light beer.the inlet IPA has a sharp hoppy flavor and the shipwrecked IPA does as well but it feels like there are more notes of your regular IPA flavor in it. The inlet IPA Is a bit mild. the mac n cheese egg rolls were good they were a pretty decent portion but didn't actually feel super heavy on the stomach which is great. They came with 2 dips, a ranch and a very unique siracha honey sauce. I would say they could add in some more cheese though it was lacking in some gooey cheesiness. They do have a pretty big menu here which is a huge plus and you don't actually see too often at breweries. As far as atmosphere it's a pretty big place, very casual and also very busy. This is currently the only brewery in this county though so it's to be expected. For as busy as it is the wait wasn't bad, pretty attentive and nice staff. They seem to change beers pretty often from what we heard talking to staff they change taps every few weeks. read more

If you go..look around you will see people sharing apps and meals, not ordering an app or meal for each person. 3 beers and an app will set you back just over $40 with tip.
