I used to use these services back in high school for special occasions. I recently went when they just opened at 10am on a Saturday. No one else was there and I wanted a pedicure. They took me right away. The gentleman was friendly and did a nice job. I was a little iffy coming back due to bad customer service and reviews from others. I can see certain employees acting that way and glad I didn't get them. Unfortunately my toes started to chip that Tuesday. I'm not rough on my feet, so I was surprised it didn't last long. I stopped in while visiting some friends and was a little apprehensive at first since it was a new place to me. My technician was Tin. I felt that the pedicure was very quick and he was a bit distracted. He didn't paint my nails completely from side to side and the toes he did, he didn't clean up the sides where nail polish overflowed. It wasn't completely visible unless you looked closely, so a minor thing but it shows lack of attention to detail. Also, a couple of toes had nail polish that had small bubbles, which he didn't clean up. When it came to the manicure, Tin was more focused. I wish he would've cleaned up my cuticles more. I promised an update once I saw how my nails held up. Unfortunately since the technician used the barrel sander to remove the polish instead of rewrapping my nails, they became very thin and flexible. Usually with gel polish my nails are very durable. Within the first week I tore 2 nails. I have since been back to my regular salon. My nail beds are so sore that my technician has to very gently file my nails now. Now I have to keep my nails short and my technician is double coating my nails to give them some durability until they fully grow out. read more

I came in for dip nails & I was a bit concerned about the cleanliness. They started me off at one table to remove prior dip nails, using tools to scrape off the top before applying acetone. They then randomly switched me with another girl who they started on? They had me sit at her station, her nail pieces were everywhere & it didn't look like they made an obvious effort of cleaning the tools they just used on her... The worker also scratched my skin by my cuticles multiple times with the drill & I was bleeding. He then used a buffer & a make up brush on the parts that were bleeding (now it wasn't gushing blood but still, kinda gross). While the workers were super nice, I won't be going back unfortunately. read more

I got a fill and gel polish here a week ago. At first, the male technician doing my nails seemed very nice and experienced. After the fill and before he started buffing them, I noticed that on one nail it didn't, the fill had quite a large gap and didn't go far up enough to the cuticle. I politely pointed it out and asked if it could be fixed and he told me that I was wrong and my eyes just weren't seeing it correctly. He then became quite aggressive with my hands while he drilled/filed my nails. He did not file underneath my nails and left them dirty and lifted. I was in a rush and only noticed how unfinished and dirty He left them after I left. It it now less than a week later, and because he left them lifted (after becoming agitated with my wanting the fill to go to my cuticle as it should and told me my eyes were wrong?) one of them broke easily while folding laundry. Not happy with their attitude or service. I would not recommend this salon. Reply to owner: If the technician said I needed a new set, I would have gotten a new set. Underneath my nails needed to be sealed with glue and buffed/drilled to rebond the natural nail. The technician left the underneath of my nails dirty and chipped. An acrylic fill does in fact cover the entire nail, focusing on the natural growth from the cuticle. I did not ask to have my cuticles cleaned. The male technician did not have a good attitude towards a paying customer when telling him what I wanted corrected. If they were done properly, they would not have broken so quickly. I have gone here on and off over the past few years and their services are a hit or miss from my experience. The reason I will not be returning here is the customer service I have received...i get charged for mistakes they make when I feel that they should honor their services. For instance I lost an acrylic nail 4 days after a fill and was charged $10 to have them redo it and was also berated about how I should've gotten a new set last time instead of a fill and that I must not put my nails in water and chemicals. Their employee did my fill and should have informed me of their professional opinion that I needed a new set instead of a fill. I also have been off from work (as a nurse) all week and haven't exposed my nails to water and chemicals they speak of. They were all very rude about a simple situation and I have experienced similar attitudes from them before. Lastly, I do agree with other reviews saying they feel their services are rushed. I have gotten an entire gel pedicure there in 20 mins or less and do feel they get distracted easily. Overall, I am disappointed and will be looking for a new salon. read more

I dare you to show me a cleaner salon. The only recommendation I'd have is disposable files and pumice stones. In addition, the facility is beautiful and the massage chairs are the best I've experienced. I could've used a bit more attention to my heels, but I'll live. Over three weeks since my appointment... 3weeks 2 days.. They should look horrific by now.. Nope. Not one nail has lifted, nor stained, yellowed or broken.. That is borderline miracle. I wear boxing gloves and am soaked in sweat daily, in the pool, or heavy manual labor outside at home with no hand protection.. I have hit my nails several times hard in the past few weeks and not once did they lift. I honestly am very impressed .. I have never had a pink and white that was so durable and actually stayed pink and white until the next stretched out fill.. I've even filed them shorter twice because of growth.. No problems. I never leave negative reviews, but this place was horrible. Went for a full acrylic set and a pedicure with my mom for my wedding. Pedicure was fine!! But when it was time for the acrylics, they argued we needed gel and we declined. Then, once they started, the one person cut my Mom's hand under her nail while filing it down. Halfway through her acrylics, the tech who was doing her nails left her sit for 15-20 minutes to go a design on someone else's nails. They left the nail extremely thick and ugly looking! Asked for a French manicure on top and they were a disaster. Showed them a picture of what I wanted and they said they could only do it with gel. It was a normal design with a French manicure on one finger. They are so thick that the acrylic is extremely uneven. I am VERY disappointed. We will not be back. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

They're always ready to upsell you to gel, but the gel didn't even last three days before they started to peel. I have had thousands of gels done on my nails, and know when old &/or tampered with gel is being used. In this case it was very old gel or very watered-down. I also believe they did not leave enough time under the light for the gel to cure. I gave them a second chance, and the exact same thing happened. They rushed through (even though there wasn't anyone waiting both times--now I know why!), poor quality products, and bad results. If I could give them no stars, I would without hesitation. I would recommend you go anywhere else before wasting your money & time here. And by the way, both times in the month I visited I was greeted near the front door by an old office chair, some wood planks, and a bucket of water filled with with cigarette butts ... Not quite the clean first impression a nail salon should be giving. read more

I never used to get regular mani/pedis until I went to Ocean Nails - now I come every 3-5 weeks! The people who work there are so incredibly nice and friendly. The new massage chairs are amazing, and everything is so bright and clean. My French shellac manicures always last 3-5 weeks, and their pedicures make every day in high heels fun, not painful, since they are experts at helping cut ingrown corners out - even if you didn't realize there was a problem to begin with! If you are anywhere near route 8, there is no better place to go. read more

I've been going to Ocean nails now for about a month or so and I cannot believe the difference in how good my nails look. I have acrylics so when I get my fill with gel, the actual nail polish application is perfect and my nails always look so much more shapely. The technicians are super nice and they always listen to what you want. They are clean and for sure have the best prices around town. I went in for a mani/pedi. Everything was going well until I declined to get gel nails instead of just a regular manicure. They asked me why I didn't like gel, and I told them I just like a regular manicure and that I found that gel (at least on me) lasts no longer than the regular nail polish. I have had gel many many times before, so I really know how long it lasts on me! They actually argued with me about it and made me feel very uncomfortable. After my pedicure, another girl started working on my nails. She, too, argued with me about getting gel on my nails. Once again, I declined. I guess I upset her, because she did my manicure in less then 10 minutes, cut my nails crooked, painted part of my finger, leaving the paint on my finger, and did not give a full manicure (lotion on hands-massage). I gave 2 stars because the lady that did my pedicure was fine, although she kept staring at me! I will NEVER go back here. oh...and I also have little fuzzy's under the polish from the towel after I washed my hands. She did not care. Needless to say, I have to go somewhere else tomorrow to get them done again! read more
