First impressions are everything. Came in and had a mani/pedi done by Paula. She was so sweet and took her time! She was very informative about why I shouldn't have acrylic nails anymore! Definitely did not want to leave! It's so cozy and clean in there. I will be back in! So happy I found this little hidden gem! Thank you Paula! read more

This place has been open for roughly 5 years. In my opinion, it's an excellent choice if you live in the Lakeview East area and you want an affordable, top-quality mani/pedicure. I wanted acrylic tips (I know, I'm dating myself by saying that) upon my arrival to this spa, but my technician, Mae, explained that the no-chip option was more worth it, in the way of a more aesthetically pleasing look (more natural and less "bulky" nails) while also allowing my own nails to grow better, with less damage. The removal of the no-chip is also gentler on your own nails and requires less time in the chair, overall, from start to finish. The finish lasts 2 weeks and stays shiny the entire time, with no yellowing from UV rays. Mae did a fabulous job! Attention to detail and an artistic eye. I love her work. The spa itself is rather small and narrow, but there are plenty of pedicure chairs and manicure stations. That's really all you need. The times I have been in were during the weekdays and Sundays and there hasn't been more than 3-4 other customers at once, so no wait time. They have a very nice, large selection of polish and no-chip colors. Everyone who works here is super nice. This is my forever nail spa. read more

This is my local choice for a simple, quick pedicure. It's not exactly glamorous but it is clean, the staff is friendly and attentive, and there is a pleasant sitting area in the rare event there is a wait. They have candy and lots of magazines. What really distinguishes this place from the rest in the area is the option to keep your own mani/pedi stuff there so that you don't have to share germs with other people. And....they have the best massage chairs I've ever sat in. I don't know where they got these things but...you just have to go sit in one and feel. It goes as far as to massage the outside of your thighs. Incredible. Has to be the newest massage chair technology. Enjoy! Remember no tips on credit card, and it is closed on Tuesdays. read more

I really really like this place and have been going for a few months now. The salon I love is sometimes inconvenient to get to, so this place becomes my go to when I feel like walking only a couple of blocks for a mani or a manipedi. Mickey does an excellent job on both the mani and the pedi. They always last over a week without chipping! This also happens when I simply get a polish change for $5. The reason I like going here so much is because I've had an ingrown toenail problem for as long as I can remember and she and another lady there really know how to take care of it. None of that superficial pedi where they just make your toes look good. They take care of them! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the color selection is just okay. The polishes seem old and I can't always find what I'm looking for. I plan on going on Friday and getting the no-chip manicure. We'll see how that turns out! read more

I LOVE this place. The ladies are always so nice and welcoming. I recently moved away from Lakeview and still travel over an hour just to get my no chip manicure done here. Five stars all the way! read more

This is the best place to get your nails done on the cheap! The ladies are very sweet and work very hard. The polish stays on my fingernails for an entire week, which is great for my pocketbook. The pedicure chairs are really nice too. The best manicurists from Lakeview Nails moved down here when Ocean Nails was bought out a few months ago, so try here first! read more

I have been coming to this place for over two years. I love it and the service is excellent. I have sent my models here for photoshoots and they have always gone out of their way for them even giving my models suggestions and in keeping with the theme. Now thats service! yes they have gone through a lot of change. Big deal. if you know anything about this industry it happens a lot. i have never been put out though. The only thing annoying are the trixies that come in on their cellphones and chat up their friends. Its a quiet place keep the phones off! ugh. i want to just rip the phones out of their mindless little heads and smash them. So inconsiderate! they always open new utensils when I am there, always clean. they have helped my trouble fingers, i have the worst nails and yes I bite but they are helping me. Right now I am on 5 days of my mani and no chips. I work on a computer during the day and hair and makeup at night. Thats saying something. They always do a wonderful job on my toes. I love the new chairs as well. OH my god. Its an experience and the price is right. They also do a wonderful job on eyebrows. i cant rave about this enough. I have never had a bad experience with them either on this. I always walk out and they are so clean and perfect. It doesnt cost alot to come here. You should try it out. And when your done and you dont have cash, ask them to add the tip to the total. They can do this. read more

The staff were friendly but these reviews are misleading. My pedicure felt really rushed and the tools weren't great- the scrubber for the bottom of my feet was super worn out and tattered. I came based on two personal recommendations and the good prices but I'd rather pay $10 more for any other pedi in the area. read more

I have been coming to Ocean Nail for the past 8 years. They are incredible, so nice and pay great attention to detail. My favorite part is that their no chip lasts 3-4 weeks!!!! I can't say enough great things about the ladies & Kevin. Nails in the photo were done by Suzanne. I never, ever go to a different salon. read more

Told me they could take me right away. I sat with my feet in water for 45 minutes. From lukewarm to cold. Wow. I would have appreciated their honesty much more. They kept saying "be right there" until I had enough and left. With no mani. No pedi. No apology. No manners. read more

I'm not going to say I've been to every nail salon on the planet, but I've been to a LOT and this has far and away exceeded my expectations. The owners are extremely nice and friendly, they have a HUGE color selection, and they do the most precise no-chip manicure I have ever had. The salon is small and no frills, but who cares when you're paying $32 for a no-chip manicure? There are five manicure chairs and five pedicure chairs in the small space and they offer all types of waxing as well. It seems like they have a super loyal following and that their manicures last at least three weeks on average, but I will have to find out for myself! They also offer a loyalty punch card, have a TV playing soap operas (during the day), and free wifi. Suzanne also told me (after finishing my perfect nails) that I could come back any time in the next seven days if there was a problem, for free. read more

I rarely ever write reviews but after the great service I received from Ocean Nail Spa, I felt compelled. My friend and I asked for no chip manicures and the technicians were very meticulous and friendly during the whole process. The salon is very unassuming but the staff is spectacular. I can't say enough good things about this place, I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Stopped in here for a pedicure with a friend. We were greeted warmly and set right up. It took awhile to get the pedicures finished and a couple of different people took over. A decent place to get a pedicure. I'd like to see them update their colors and try to get some of the smell minimized. read more

I felt kind of terrible writing a negative mani/pedi review for a place downstate (that prob could have used a boost from a good yelping) so I wanted to write a positive review for my regular spot in Chicago! The ladies who work here are great. My nails always look awesome, the people who work here are nice, the wait is never too long & the prices are completely reasonable. They even have a loyalty program so you get $ off after your 10th service over $12. Plus they have a funky kitty statue in their door. That's how I tell people how to find this spot - walk up Broadway from Diversey & stop at the nail place with the funky kitty statue in the doorway. Muy bueno! read more

This place is a gem $32 for a no chip not bad typical price you pay anywhere they are very sweet and walk-ins are welcome. It might not seem like a high end place but there work is amazing. I had gel nails for 10 years and I finally gave it up. Those of you who get gel or acrylic know how fragile your nails are. my nails look so terrible when I walked in and when I came out I felt like a new person. Key: don't judge the looks of the place their work speaks volume. OAN: the massage by the manicurist is an extra bonus read more

I Love Ocean nails! I've been coming here for about 4 years and it's the best no-chip I've had in the city. My go-to spot for gel manicures. Great price and quality, and the ladies are always so sweet. The little upper-body massage at the end is a plus. I have moved downtown since finding this spot but I still make the trip up north for these ladies! read more

I had a bit of a rollercoaster experience with this salon so my review is a bit lengthy. I was in a bit of a hurry to get my nails done and decided on this place based on the positive reviews. I got there a little bit later in the evening so it wasn't too busy. I ended up having to wait a little bit, which was fine - it wasn't a crazy amount of time. I went in for a no-chip polish change and a toe polish change. The services were good and the ladies who did my nails were very sweet and carried on a conversation with me. My overall experience during my time there was pleasant and I have no complaints. The reason I gave three stars was everything that happened after I was finished. They did my toes before my hands and I was told that my toes were dry by the time my hands were done. I asked the nail tech if it was ok to put on my shoes since I was walking to Mariano's about a block down as opposed to the flip-flops they provide. I confirmed with her that my toes were dry and it was ok to wear my shoes. Afterwards, I double checked my toes and about five of them were smudged from my shoes even though I was told they would be dry by then. I called them right before they closed and told them what happened and they offered to fix it at no charge which I greatly appreciated. Since I was down the street I was able to make it in time but as I was on my way they called me back and asked if I wanted to come in tomorrow and get it fixed because they were about to go home. I understand that they're tired after a long day but I didn't really appreciate being told that after they told me it was dry. If they weren't sure, I feel like they should've put me under the dryers which they did not offer. It took me two minutes to get there and five minutes for them to fix my toes, all while the tech was telling me that I should've worn the flip-flops. In the end, I got it fixed but the whole experience was a bit tense. Additionally, not even a week after my appointment, my nails started chipping on my hands. It was nice to go last minute and convenient since I live close by but my first impression of this salon was just okay. I'm sure my experience was unique and does not happen often however, I'd give it more consideration before returning here. read more

I made a 2:00PM appointment for a mani-pedi, and they didn't start until 2:30! And by "start", I mean they didn't even start running the water for the foot tub until 2:30. They said "sorry for the wait" at 2:30, but didn't really acknowledge me or apologize before then. The pedicure was kind of sloppy. I found a lot of extra polish on my toes afterwards. It's awesome that they're open on all the holidays, but I won't be coming back again unless it's the only option. read more

A recent transplant from NYC, I am eager to find a nail salon in my new neighborhood that can come close to the speediness and cheapness of the salons I frequented back in New York. I visited this place at 6:30 on a Friday night and was able to sit right down for a manicure. While the price was right ($12) the manicure itself took forever and was streaky. I was there for nearly an hour! However, the women were nice and the nail polish did last five days. While I don't think I'll become a regular, it'd due in a pinch. read more

Nice & Cheap! I love their pedicure chairs. They have plenty of space for you to sit and get massaged until it's your turn for the pedicure! They also have a selection of magazines and a tv to occupy your time. The girls are very friendly! I've walked in on numberous ocassions minutes before they are scheduled to close and they still happily accept my business and stay open just for me! They have an awesomely cheap mani & pedi deal for I believe $35. They also have a punch card! SCORE! read more

I'm going to start getting my feet done here monthly with such exceptional service and friendlyness.

I absolutely adore this place. I've lived here for two years I've tried 4 different nail salons ranging from the loop to Rogers park and they hands down have the best work and service. They know my name, they are timely they know me and they genuinely continue to give me the best pedicure and manicures that I've had in my life. I always have ingrown toe nails and I'm always a walk in, they always get me in and they always fix me up so that I not only look nice but my feel better bc my toes aren't hurting. (The women techs always give you a massage at the end, the male doesn't but he's the best manicurist so it's alright and worth it.) love them a million times over. read more

This is by far my favorite nail salon in the city that I've tried (I've tried at least 15 others). It's by no means "fancy", but the services are always done so well and very reasonably priced. I get a no-chip manicure and regular pedicure and it runs about $56. They always pay attention to detail and my no-chip last at least two weeks, most of the time more! They also have a very wide selection of colors (both regular and gel). However, it does take a little longer than other salons I've been too (at least an hour for both, sometimes a little more). I chalk this up to the detail they put in and the quality of the nail services. Overall, this is my go-to spot and I no longer use another nail salon. read more

I recently moved to the Lakeview East area and I needed to find a new nail salon. Ocean Nails has been the best place I've gone to around this neighborhood. Suzanne, who is the owner, is so knowledgeable about the colors and offers great suggestions. Everybody who works here is so friendly and helpful. You can tell they are sincere when talking to you. The services offer is reasonable priced. From the outside it might look like any regular nail salon, but it's the people who are the gems. read more

If you want an amazing no-chip that will grow out before it ever looks even the slightest bit old, go here and see Suzanne. She is the owner and so sweet. I will say that all of the ladies here are wonderful though. It is pretty spartan, but the price is right and the service is some of the best in the area. They also give you bottled water...a nice little perk. And, they have a reward card so that after your 10th visit, you get $10 off your next service. I believe that I have found a new, regular go-to. My husband (yes, he loves manis/pedis as much as I love them!) and I ventured here on Sunday - Mother's Day because I was in dire need of both a mani and a pedi. They were able to take us as walk-ins and they did an excellent job. They took their time (not too fast/not too slow), provided what I consider a real foot massage and hand massage, did paraffin treatments on our hands, and were very nice. The polish job was meticulous for both the mani and the pedi. Since they are open on Sundays, we'll definitely be back! read more

Great location. Great prices. Great service. I love this place for their no-chip manicures! I highly recommend Ellen, she's done my nails twice, both times lasting MORE THAN 3 WEEKS!
