Great spot for a few drinks. It's a bit of a hybrid - they serve cocktails (and it's classified as a cocktail bar on here) however the vibe was a mix between a dive bar and a sports bar. There was a basketball game on when I came so it was a bit loud and crowded but I still stayed so that should say something (I hate sports). They also had PBR Tall Boys for $3.50. My kind of joint. I truly don't think we've experienced such poor service at a bar. Our group of 4 was told to sit at a table and wait for service. We waited over 20 minutes and nobody came so we finally had to go to the bar and order. Finally the server came, we ordered more drinks and water, he returned to tell us he "forgot what we ordered" and never brought us waters. We asked for waters (it's now 1 hour later) he said "oh yeah waters" and never came back. Then another server came to help out, she also forgot every drink we ordered and never came back. It's almost like they didn't want to make any money at all. Our group was stunned at the lack of service or attention anybody was getting when trying to order drinks. I love this bar so much, their food is excellent, and the service and drinks are good. Fantastic chicken tendies and spicy margs. But in the last few months they've shifted to playing really loud heavy metal music what seems like every night of the week, whether it's 5pm or midnight. Missing the old music/vibes like classic hip hop (that weirdly still plays on the speakers in the women's bathroom). Hope they bring some of that back, because it used to be my favorite bar in the area! read more

The only reason we went here was to wait to be called for Williams & Graham. It is a typical sports bar and it was crowded. We were very fortunate to find a table for the 4 of us fairly quickly. However, the place had an unpleasant smell that was a mix of unbathed humans and hops. It smelled bad, hence the loss of a couple of stars. Service was very slow, but considering how busy it was he was trying. I had to have my friends try my drink because I couldn't even taste any alcohol. I got a club soda and vodka, but it tasted like soda only. Also, there are 6 speakers above the bar, so the music was so loud we could barely hear each other and often had to scream at each other. I would likely not return. However, if you like loud hipster sports bars that serve weak drinks this is your place. read more

Ashlynn the bartender had my kicked out before I could even order a drink or sit down for my friends birthday party. They had the door guy say "We all don't feel safe with you here, you can't drink here." I've been going there for years and know and knew a lot of the bartenders over the ages. I would never be threatening or have been to any business or their people. This all happened because I know and am friends with her ex boyfriend of 5 years ago. Very poor decision on on her part and bad for the business as the whole birthday party left as well. The staff was soooo friendly and wanted to make special drinks based off what we like, they took the time to find out what we liked and made a drink based off that. We stumbled upon Occidental on a Friday as we were wanting to go to Williams and Graham, which was closed for a private party. The sign on the door had said to go next door to their sister bar, Occidental, which we did. Cool aka vibe going on inside. Relatively decent drink menu and selection of beers on tap. I enjoyed a Tom Collins, which was very refreshing - even on a cold Denver evening! The hubs enjoyed one of the hazy IPA's on tap. Awesome little hole in the wall bar! Kind of hipster, kind of punk rock vibes... what's not to like?! Lots of great selections for happy hour with some decent prices! Heard alot of good things from this place.. but was beyond disappointed. Servers were lazy and even told us that chef will be pissed if we order like this or like that. What a fun vibe! Divey with fantastic drink options. The staff was wonderful, attentive, and knowledgeable. We sat on the back patio that once housed a food truck, but has now been set up with socially distanced couches and tables. I tried the mezcal drink and a beautiful gin. A fun time was had by all! Great place! I was super impressed with the friendly, professional staff and of course I'm appreciative of their attention to social distancing and cleanliness. The beer selection has a little something for everyone and even though the food menu was small what we had was fantastic. I can't tell you what it was about them but the regular fries were delicious, I also had the green chile mac which was also super yum, it had the perfect amount of spicy, cheesy green chile goodness. The falafel salad came with a homemade vinaigrette that was pretty amazing. Needless to say, we will be going back for more very soon. read more

My friends and I (mostly Asian Americans visiting from around the country) stopped by this bar the night before New Years Eve. There were football games playing on the TVs. Five minutes after we sat down and got drinks, we noticed that the TV closer to us was changed to a Chinese movie. This was very strange - none of us requested this, and it made us feel uncomfortable. We left after one drink. While we were discussing transportation arrangements on the sidewalk outside the bar (e.g., who would go in the rental car vs. take an Uber), a middle-age white woman sarcastically exclaimed "WHAT?! YOU GUYS DIDN'T COME ON A TOUR BUS?!" I've never had this level of racism anywhere in America, much less twice within an hour.
