Occidental was a fun bar in LoHi. We only got some apps which were tasty but the whole food menu looked good. Normal variety of drink/beer options. Our waiter was attentive and nice!

Nice little place we stubbled onto after a concert at the junkyard. Cocktails were delicious and food hit the spot. Service was on point. Highly recommend the chicken tenders as they are quite good! Turkey club sandwich is worth the order to I believe.

We ate and had drinks here. The food was way more than you would think for bar food so totally worth it. Dom and jimmy were our servers and bartenders. By far the best service I ever had ever. It was a very nj vibe which I loved. Always had my water refilled without even asking. I was there when it wasn't so busy but it is a hidden gold mine. I will be going here every time I am in Denver mainly because of jimmy our bartender. Even gave us a special ice cube that was carved specially for us. Absolutely incredible.

Finally got the chance to try this place on Thursday. I live so close by but I've been lowkey intimidated by the noisy and rough exterior. The servers could not be nicer and the chicken tenders are fire. LoHi needs a "grungier" bar like this. We tried the Nashville hot chicken and the hot honey BBQ. Both great accompanied by a large portion of tots. The chicken alone is enough to fill you up if you aren't super hungry so take that into account before you order. Both orders were breaded and cooked to perfection (at least for a bar). This isn't your run in the mill bar chicken tenders, it's worth making the stop for a casual dinner.

Cool bar for a casual night out or to catch a game. Being from NJ it's awesome to find a home turf for NY/NJ sports teams. Occidental is the more casual "sibling" of Williams and Graham next door (which reminds me, I still have to review them because they are AWESOME), but I digress.... Love the edgy, no fuss ambiance of Occidental and they serve up some tasty food and drinks. The chicken tenders are fire and the tots are perfectly crunchy and delicious.

We stumbled across this bar when trying to get into a nearby distillery. Couldn't have found a better place for my husband who is a North Jersey kid and huge Giants fan. The atmosphere was packed but a blast. Bartenders kept the drinks flowing even though they were slammed! We had a great time and plan to come watch a Giants game next football season. We are from the Springs and wish we could come more!

What do you really know about a great bar?!?

I think Ben K. was having a bad day! Don't let the Tomfoolery persuade you otherwise! This place was a blast, if you didn't have fun maybe you're just not doing it right! Come check it out for yourself!!!!! Chopped cheese was everything I needed! Plus those delicious deviled eggs!! Rock on Occidental!!

Great vibe, G-Men all day! Wings were decent size, I'm impressed with them. Could use more flavors for the wings though.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

I can't end this review without gushing about the staff. I had a weird fainting episode and scared the crap out of my friend- our server and the rest of the staff were on it, so sweet and helpful. Death & Co is a bar that has been on my list to go to for a very long time. We made our reservation ahead of time, which I would highly recommend you do. I almost didn't do it, but I'm glad I did because it was limited seating still. The inside atmosphere is absolutely amazing elegant, upscale. This is the place to be. We originally sat at a lower table with a large couch and two side chairs. We had a group of six and we fit pretty comfortably. The only error we had was when the waitress was bending down to give us our first round, someone from the table behind bumped her and the tray of drinks went over. Honestly not really her fault and she was very apologetic. It did splash one of my party members, which is why they offered to comp us the drinks and we had to unfortunately move the table because of broken glass. They were fortunately able to get us into another table pretty quickly. It was close to the bar, which wasn't inherently bad. They gave us a fresh round of drinks. The food that came out was all amazing. We ended the meal with their chocolate chip cookies, which were divine. I'm pretty sure they were brown butter chocolate chip cookies because it had that excellent specific flavor you get from browning butter and baking. All in all, this place truly delivers an amazing experience. The wait staff was able to make amazing recommendations on cocktails based on what people's preferences are. The food was truly amazing. If you like good food and great drinks, I would definitely check this place out.
