I need a thermostat replaced. It took less than an hour and was charged $420. $99 for the service fee, which is fine and then a whopping $322 for a thermostat found the same thermostat at Home Depot for less than $99 i've used Ocala heating and air for the past five years, but unfortunately, no longer can I count on them to be fair and honest. read more

Mervin and the crew from Ocala heating and Air are amazing! I called them on Sunday and Mervin came out almost immediately. He was friendly and very honest. They needed to order a part. I figured I would have to call them on Monday to be sure that the part got ordered. When I opened my email by 9:30 Monday morning they had already emailed me an estimate. Said it was going to take two or three days. Most companies would've left it at that. However, they searched around and were able to find a part here in town and called me that afternoon. They had my air fixed before 4 PM. I cannot say enough good things about their work and professionalism. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

First of all- I'm a Home Builder, so I know a good company from a bad or mediocre one. The Central HVAC in our home has been breaking down and showing it's age. It stopped running on a weekend this Aug. . Fortunately I was able to get it working again myself, but the handwriting was on the wall. I called 4 companies in the area to get quotes and a feeling for them. Hands down - Ocala Heating &Air gave me the best impression. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need, but were straight forward and very helpful in the decision making process. As well, they were very fair with their prices. Fast forward to this Labor Day weekend when our AC died for good. I texted Bill O. on Monday ( Labor Day ) . My pool heat pump needed a new capacitor as I learned on YouTube. But in the nick of time Randy from OHAC arrived to save the day. He even had the part on his truck. In about 15 minutes he confirmed my suspicion and made the repair. Randy's a rock star. The repair was even covered under my Pentair heat pump warranty so no out-of-pocket cost to me. My unit was brought from you and I bought into the yearly contact. In May 2023 I had a major issue and had to go without air for three days until the part came in( high pressure switch and dryer, recharged with all new refrigerant) roughly 1200 dollars later. On Labor Day September 4 I lost air and I call , I was very thankful someone came out but disappointed to hear it was the same problem due to the part they replace cracked. Needless to say they could do nothing until the next day. The part was replaced after 5 pm the next day and I was given a bill for just under 600 dollars for freon. What I didn't understand is when they replaced the original part, I was charged for the freon but because the part they put on cracked and leaked the freon, I have to pay for their defected part or whatever was the problem on their end! Please make it make sense. Like it or not apparently I have to pay or else. I never thought Ocala heating and air would conduct business in this manner. I gave a one start because at least they showed up!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND REEVALUATING IF I WANT TO CONTINUE WITH YOUR SERVICES!!!! read more

Select this company immediately regarding any heating or air conditioning issues. When you call, the receptionist is knowledgeable and efficient. She takes down your request and routes it to the appropriate technician. I had a difficult repair to my air handler due to gas lines directly in front of the unit. A technician was dispatched and a message was sent directly to me with a picture of the technician and when he would arrive. The technician was right on time, diagnosed the problem and made the repair. read more

Charged two or three times what four other contractors charge for a simple drain unblock that took less than 45 minutes. As a three-year customer, I trusted them not to cheat me. When I asked for an adjustment, I was flatly refused. I paid $215, which works out to over $280 an hour, for a $65-125 job. Not only unreasonable, but outrageous. read more

I have been using this company since I moved to Ocala 8 years ago. I ended up calling them just because they were close to my house. Unfortunately I've needed them many times but I have nothing but high praises for this company and their technicians. They are prompt, polite, knowledgeable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. I am confident that I will be treated fairly and not taken advantage of. I am now looking to replace my air and will undoubtedly use Ocala Heating and Air. These folks are great! They came out super quick when our AC first stopped working and determined there was a coil leak. Given it was no longer under warranty, we decided to just replace the unit. Everyone at the office (Bill, Kim, and the ladies who answer the phones) was super nice and helpful. The guys who came out and installed our new AC unit did a very thorough and clean job. Very hassle free company which is hard to find it seems these days. We will definitely use Ocala Heating and Air moving forward for all our AC needs! read more
