For starters, Miller And Sons came out to install a new water heater. they sent out the wrong water heater (3) times. I had a 30 gallon water heater and after the third water heater (and only when I wasn't at the house) they snuck in a 20 gallon. The water heater was supposed to be installed on a weekday as promised, but was installed on a Saturday, and then I was charged a weekend rate of $100 more. The water heater has had two heating elements installed since I purchased it, the 1st one within months of being installed and Miller and Sons refused to honor the warranty claiming I probably had hard water even though they never came out to check the unit. I tried to work it out with one of the owners Ashley who was rude, talked over top of me and refused to be reasonable in anyway. She even insisted that I never called for service. She had me call her on a private number because she was out of the office. Then she claimed I never called because they record all calls. I reminded her that she had me call her on a different number because she wasn't in her office. She then said she would never do that because all calls had to be recorded. I asked her why I would make that up when I had no hot water and needed immediate service! She said she couldn't remember because it was over a year and I had to understand that I wasn't her only customer with a problem. I had to call out a second company who informed me (after) checking the information on the water heater that I was sold a unit that is over 10 years old and not under warranty. I have tried several times to contact Miller and Sons but Ashley became hostile and continued to take no responsibility and refused to even have someone look at the unit claiming that even if I was under warranty that the service call to check the unit or any subsequent parts replacement were not part of their warranty. I begged her to simply give me what I paid for, a 30 gallon water heater...she informed me that although I ordered a 30 gallon, a 20 was installed because a new 30 gallon would not fit. I told her that the price of a 30 gallon was more than a 20 gallon and I was owed something. She said they were the same price. I looked them up...she is lying. Simply unconscionable for a business to act this way...she told me if I was unhappy I could always sue her and hung up. All I can say is...STEER clear of this business. They must have had an old water heater in their warehouse and figured I would never know the difference. My wife and I are old and on fixed incomes and when I told Ashley this she informed me that maybe I needed to get another job. I recommend anyone in need of a professional plumbing service to look around. The second company I called who told me about the bait and switch told me he always heard they were reputable, but some of their reviews say otherwise. Why did they send out 3 different water heaters if they know what they are doing? This is a terrible thing to do to old people and Miller and Sons should be ashamed of themselves. read more

A friend used them for a drainage issue in bathroom. They had to remove toilet and check under mobile home. The toilet overflowed and sewage came up and was all over the bathroom floor. They used the bath towels to clean it up. Which had to be thrown away. And never replaced the skirting on the home. Disgusting! read more

Didn't bother to tell anyone they left the debris (sewage) all over the ground in two places & sent some quotes to an unmonitored email address after repeatedly giving them the correct email address to send it to. None of this would be a big deal however, when we approached the owner to correct the issues, she basically told us to go F ourselves and they didn't need our business. I could not get the unit to start and me and family of three had no hot water for two weeks, forcing us to use showers at the local Y and rent a hotel for in-laws. Technician came on two separate days (never wore a mask when speaking to me!) and spent two hours troubleshooting my hot water heater, blamed a "fitting," and then ordering and replacing various parts. When the unit still would not work, the technician belatedly checked the gas coming into the house and found it locked off. My wife and I used their service for increasing the hot water in the shower and re-directing the emergency valve on the water heater, which of course did not take him long. The plumber was very courteous and did not dawdle; however, we also hired them to locate where the city water enters the house, because the box was not visible above ground and to prep for a water softener installed by another company. This part of the project took about an hour and twenty minutes of the two hours charged and did not have a positive result. So in essence, I was charged $160 to find nothing and ended up hiring another company who found the box three feet to the left of one of his holes. I'm not saying it was his fault or anything, but there should have been some sort of discount for not being able to complete the task required. Yes, I do understand that time is money to a company, but no results cost the customer more. The cost of the repairs account for two of the five stars, which also means getting your money's worth. I would recommend them for the other kinds of services; but not to locate a water line. read more

Anyway a great price for installation and that included taking my old one. The guy came out and replaced it very quick and was super nice. So far no problem. I would definitely use them again. The worst experience I have ever had with a contractor doing work on my hose, They installed a new faucet in my shower, put it in backwards, the hot setting was for cold water, the colds water setting was for hot water. Installed new garbage disposal unit improperly, the worker who came out to fix it said "The top of the unit was not tighten right and that caused the leaking" . I had an appointment with MILLER AND SONS PLUMBING, INC on April 14, 2021. I did not really know what the problem was, but I was told that there was a leak coming from my upstairs toilet. The appointment was for the plumber to come and diagnose the problem and fix it. When the plumber arrived he went into the bathroom and checked the toilet. He could not identify a leak. He flushed it and there was no leak visible. He told me that the only way he would have a better idea of what was going on was to go to the bottom unit and cut into the ceiling and see if he could identify a leak that way. After him cutting into the ceiling, they flushed the toilet and still there was no water visible. He noticed a pipe was not connected. He identified that as the problem, and not the toilet. The plumber wrote me an estimate of the price that it would take to fix it. The plumber Diagnose - Toilet leaking into downstairs apartment Tenants state that every time the toilet in unit 12 is flushed it leaks into the downstairs apartment. Service - Description of work Completed. What I did- in this unit 12 I could not exactly find leak until I went to apt 5 and cut hole in ceiling and found part of a drain disconnected. in order to fix I will need to remove more curling and soffett to see all the piping and verify this is only one issue, at this time I will await on their decision of what they wish to do. the work will be done at time and material with a approximant time of 3 to 4 hours , addressing the one broke pipe, if more is discovered it will increase cost to repair. I was charged 140 dollars for him to cut into a roof! His diagnosis was wrong. The association had a plumber verify the problem, and it was discovered that the pipe he diagnosed was not even a water pipe. It was a vent pipe. That issue was fixed, but my issue remained there was a leak coming from my unit and I did not know where it was. The association allowed for their plumber to come into my unit and see if he could figure out where the leak was coming from. That plumber also identified the toilet as not being the problem, but instead there were cracks in my shower drain, that was causing the problem. He could not do the work, but at least now I knew what the problem was. Knowing what I know now, I should have just gone to a new plumber. I called MILLER AND SONS PLUMBING, INC back and scheduled just an estimate, not a diagnosis or anything like that. I had identified my problem, I just needed someone to do the work to fix it. I would like to say, that they even cautioned me that, if fixing the drain did not fix the issue, then they were not responsible, because they did not diagnose it. I received an appointment for May 3rd, 2021 to receive an estimate for replacing my shower drain. SERVICES Estimate - Replace castiron drains. There was a leak. PLEASE CALL on the way!!! I was at the residence on May 3rd, 2021, and I meet with Anthony Wiley of MILLER AND SONS PLUMBING, INC. I can not understand how two people could have been in a one-on-one conversation and this kind of misunderstanding occurs. I was there with Mr. Wiley and I saw him take pictures of my shower drain. I even asked him numerous times how much is was going to cost to fix shower drain. I was quoted around 570. I was really shocked, because the woman over the phone had quoted me like 800 to 1000 dollars. Really to fix my drain? He was like yes, and I do not know why she would have told you a price that high. On May 10th, 2021 I arrived after the plumber had started working. I did not go look and check in on him. I allowed him to continue to work. I wish I would have looked and seen that he was doing the WRONG THING!!!! It wasn't until he was finished that I learned he had been working on the toilet all that time! So upsetting. I was freaking out. I was like there is no way I am paying you for doing this work that I did not ask for. I still needed to have my shower drain fixed, because I had to take care of the leak going into my neighbor's unit. I was told that, if I paid that price today, then it would just be deducted off the price for completing the shower drain. At the time I thought this was a fair deal, because I still needed to fix the shower drain. I was told that there would be a new appointment for them to come give me an estimate on the shower drain. I was like why did I need a new estimate when I just had one for 570? No one came out. I was just sent this new estimate. Demo & Installing New Shower Pan $1,495.00 Deduction This estimate will have a deduction of $580 due to customer paying for previous job that was not what customer wanted. When I got that estimate I was like WTF! I called another plumber and they said that price was way too high. I called MILLER AND SONS PLUMBING, INC back to ask for a refund. They answered once and then stop answering. I then opened a claim dispute, but somehow the still feel justified in taking money from me. These people are crooks!!! read more

We woke up yesterday morning 6-15-18 Hot water heater went. Called Miller & Sons, we had a technician come out ( earlier then expected ) he was professional, extremely knowledgeable , clean worker. We also had a leaky faucet in the bathroom which he was more than willing to fix. Being a homeowner for over 30 years it is so nice to have someone come out on time actually earlier and asked knowledgeable in his field. All too often people complain I wanted to complement this business and this technician I will never call anybody other than them again . Note... It is what it is. I called for an emergency leak that I was dealing with. Technician came to the house, told me the problem, but then that he didn't have the parts that day to fix it. He then told me they could come back 2 days later and that I owed them money for the labor costs, however it would go against the overall bill in the end. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between numbers so I called the day they were supposed to be there, and their scheduler said it would be a week before they could fix my problem. No refund, No way it could be any sooner. No satisfaction. They are a chain. I would of rather spent my money with someone who needed it, and was willing to fix my emergency then and there. We were very pleased with the job that involved replacing a shower valve. They were quick to respond & got the job done in a timely manner! The area in which the plumber worked in, was very clean when he finished the job! Many workers would leave a mess behind them.
