Apologies. Long post ahead. Corman and Sons installed our mini split AC units and did a great job. They were professional and personable. And the units have been spectacular. They have cut our electric costs while keeping the house more comfortable. I haven't had any problem with the units. And I have held Corman as a company in high regard. At least until now. I still think they are a good company, but they made a mistake and they just won't make it right. My wife and I came home from a vacation and our mini split AC unit in the living room had a terrible smell. I called Corman and Sons AC and requested they send someone to come and clean the units. They have always provided us with timely service in the past and always done exactly what we had booked. They have cleaned our units twice in the past. The first appointment they had for a cleaning was a week away. Took it and told them I was looking forward to the cleaning because the smell was getting bad. In the days leading up to the appointment I got two text messages from Corman and Sons to confirm the appointment. I confirmed it and asked them to confirm that the appointment was for a cleaning. Never got a reply. I called the day before the appointment, about 2:45PM, but got their answering service. On a Tuesday - I thought that was strange. I asked the service to have someone call me back confirming the appointment was to clean the unit. They never returned the call. The tech came and he didn't know anything about doing a cleaning. He hadn't brought the equipment to do a cleaning. He had been sent to do routine maintenance. He was able to smell the unit, and agreed it needed cleaning. He spent a half hour checking the units, even though I told him we were having no problems and I had not requested a maintenance visit. He did not find any problems, other than two of the units needing cleaning. DUH! That was what I had requested! He charged me $466.00 for the maintenance I did not request and did not need. Then he called the office and let them know I needed to make an appointment for cleaning. Again, they only appointment they had was a week away. So we had to live with the smell another week. The tech returned the next week, did the cleaning, and charged me the $200.00 fee for cleaning 2 units. So I paid $666.00 for a service I should only have been charged $200.00. I spoke via phone with their office staff and expressed that I felt I had been charged for a service call I didn't request or need. She was unable to give any resolution. I sent them an email telling them I was disappointed in the lack of customer service and that I was expected to pay for a service I had not requested. I got a reply back from "Katie" saying that she was sending it up to her General Manager, Tony. I thanked her for doing that. And I waited a week for a reply. Nothing. Nada. Crickets. I finally replied back again to Katie that it appears the GM was not going to contact me. I don't know what to do now. Don't get me wrong. Corman and Sons gave us a great product and did a wonderful job up to now. A mistake was made that I've had to pay $466 for. I just wish their GM or maybe even Ray Corman the owner would stand up and do what's right. When someone books a cleaning, just do the cleaning and stop playing games. read more

Corman and Sons has always serviced and repaired our air conditioning unit. When we decided to replaced the old unit with a new one we did not hesitate to call them. As in the past, they were quick to respond and very reasonable in price. I can't say enough good things about Mark, Phil and the installation team. read more

No, I will absolutely wholeheartedly vehemently not recommend them. I was one of the first customers reaching out to the via Yelp and within the Villages. I liked the owner, I liked the personal service and I ended up purchasing service contracts since that initial day. Recently however, when I needed a very very small fix to my water heater - that the technician knew how to do actually - "management", "the office", whoever said nope, they do not do that service. Being a long time customer, I asked if I could pay the technician on the side to complete this very minor fix since he assessed the problem - which they charged me about $70 for one minute of time. Again, the answer was nope. Uh hello, that is not customer loyalty or service. It does not reciprocate the loyalty I gave to them from day 1. Bye Bye from the Villages. And you bet I will not refer my neighbors and friends any more. The technician of which I speak was awesome. Diagnosed the problem in less than a minute, and it wasn't even a "problem" - just an easy old valve needing to be switched out. He didn't even want to charge me for no work, but of course I had to get on the phone to the office girl and "beg" like a vagrant to not be charged the full service fee. Her reasoning? Oh, the Villages is so far away I needed to compensate them for the drive time. Well folks, if the Villages is so far away, then don't service our community anymore of 79,372 and growing anymore. Corman and Sons came highly recommended. Phil came out within a week and gave me an estimate. I needed some electrical work done first, no problem. A week later, after I signed up for their annual AC maintenance program, I was to have my first annual maintneance done. They cancelled on me the day before, after I rearranged my schedule and said no to an opportunity that appointment day. They said they were busy due to the heat. So I felt I was not important yet they wanted $1000s of dollars for a new AC system. If a company wants my money, don't cancel on me after I take time out of my busy schedule for them to come out. read more

DO NOT USE CORMAN & SONS AIR CONDITION AND HEATING. STAY AWAY! It has been 5 months and this company has not returned my deposit. The owner who I have spoken to 3x and my fiance 2x has lied to us that he would be sending us a refund check or refunding my Visa. He never did. He always lies. He charged my credit card on $5995. The day they were suppossed to remove the units, no one showed up. When I called the manager Phil he apologized and said his crew forgot. They came the next day but only removed one unit instead of two old units. This caused delays for my contractor who needed to do mold remediation and had to be rescheduled. They also damaged my hard wood floors and left debris everywhere . The techs never capped off the electrical wires which are live and can cause electrocution. Very dangerous. The answer they forgot. I had to get an electrician to cap the wiring so my painter can do his job. Corman & Sons never even installed the new AC units and kept my deposit. Use DUCTMAN if you need air conditioning, this company is honest and fair! The owner after receiving a legal demand letter continues not answer. Whenever I call everyone is in a meeting or the owner Mark Schwaemmle is out of the office. We have started the law suit with Lake County Courts. Also, FYI this company will charge you re-stocking fee of $1000. They even charged for permits that were never filed. So if you get charged for permits get copies. Also, pay as you go, don't give a large deposit because you will be fighting to get it back. There are numerous negative reviews on Corman & Sons. If you find yourself being cheated of your money contact BBB and Florida Office of Attorney General. Also, if they charged your credit card you are protected by federal laws against scams, fraud, and refusal to refund your credit card. read more

After waiting for months to have an additional return vent installed in our bedroom, the vent was finally installed the end of November. When we turned the heat on in late December our bedroom was freezing cold. Suspecting the return vent Corman installed is too close to the vent bringing the heat in, we called Corman on January 16th and were told that the manager was out of the office until January 18th and we would have to speak to him when he returned. We never received a call. Despite our phone records and a witness to the call, Corman claims that we never called. If you have a problem beware, they won't have a phone record that you called. I just received a call May 5th to renew my service with them. I will not be renewing my service with them as they do not back their service with satisfaction and are incompetent at recording service and satisfaction requests. If they lose record of your call, the customer is to blame, not them. read more

Corman charged us $80 to come out to us for a problem and found out we had two parts (under warrant) to fix the problem. The new parts took 5 days to get them. Corman then charged us $266 for us to install them that took them 30 min. to complete. Beware of their labor charges!!!! read more

My family and I have been loyal Corman & Sons customers for over ten years. We recently moved, and when our air conditioner needed almost immediate attention, we did not hesitate to call Corman. They were out to our house in only a few hours, calling ahead to let us know of their arrival time. We have young children with respiratory concerns, and this quick response was very appreciated. Javier was kind and attentive, as we have known all Corman service technicians to be. I never felt pushed into buying unnecessary equipment, as I have with other companies in the past. Their prices are extremely fair and honest. Corman & Sons seem dedicated to keeping customers for life, rather than trying to flip a quick dollar. Our house is an older home, and our unit took more time than originally anticipated to fix. Javier had another service call to make, so he went to fix their unit, only to come back and fix ours, so that we wouldn't be without air conditioning in the hot Florida summer! This is my first time ever calling Corman Son's for my AC and heating services. Let me tell you I was impressed!! First of all they were here when they said they were going to be here and the technician that was sent to my home was very courteous, professional and very thorough. He explained everything he was doing and recommended a few things I can do to that would help my AC be more efficient. Best of all prices are very fair. Corman truly believes in customer satisfaction. Installed a new AC and there were some issues. Mark (the owner) and Phil (head salesman) came out and immediately saw what the issues were and some that I hadn't even noticed. All your company had to do was:cut the tubing to size,flare it,hook up the tubing (two connections),put a vacuum on the line,put in a shot of Freon;and install the cover on the tubing.All of the inside work was done! Damn near all of the outside work was done!You did me a favor? Unbelievable!Your "Experts" left the High - side valve closed!Ben's air got it going in 15 minutes!All he did was put a gauge on one line,and discovered that there wasn't any movement of Freon.He put a vacuum on it,and added a bit of Freon;turned on the valve;and that was it! It worked,and continues to work perfectly.There was no damaged or defective parts on the A/C unit...it was brand new! I did not ask you to guarantee my unit,I had you finish installation.After spending $455.00,My unit didn't work. " We were very clear, if it is anything else that we may have missed or did improperly, then and only then would there be a trip fee.". No,your company fought me tooth and nail over the phone,and insisted on another $80.00 service call,period."We know you are not a licensed installer, and didn't have the experience, but you were going to install it yourself anyway, and we wanted only to help you"...Obviously,I'm not a licensed installer,or I would have done the complete job myself. I do have the experience now,with your company both on the phone,the legal smokescreen of "getting a quote and using confusing language to protect your company against it's screw ups,and being charged for work not completed...as well as getting gouged for work not completed properly." Our previous ac company came out for regular checkup and the guy said unit needed total replacement, and pushed a solar unit. We wanted second opinion and called Corman. jerry came out and long story short, said no new unit was needed and did minor maintenance and upgrade, patiently explaining everything in detail. Reasonable price, will stick with them. read more

Today was my second visit from Corman for an AC/heating system checkup and cleaning. Both times I was blown away by (a) their professionalism, (b) their responsiveness and (c) their fair price.
