Kurt's AC & Heat - error code

the rating is based on a phone call attempting to set up a service call,…read more not based on an installation or repair so i call because my lg minisplit is displaying an error code and shutting down. after i explain to her that i have the error code, she then proceeds to schedule an appointment without asking for the error code. no, this is wrong. do not come to my house clueless. look up the code then come to my house and fix it kurt's plan was to send out technicians to troubleshoot the problem. this is exactly what brown's arctic air did - i sent them the error code, and they came out clueless trying to troubleshoot the problem, instead of knowing what to look for. brown's didn't even bother to document what they did - there was an indicator led on the circuit board that they should have photographed brown's arctic air then charged me $200 for the service visit despite not fixing the problem. and this is exactly what kurt's wanted to do so the receptionist has a problem with this: "you just want us to look up the code for you without coming out" ? yes, this is exactly what i want. it was such a profound concept to her that she wasn't able to accept it. she told me to look up the error code myself. ok, here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/kurts-ac-and-heat-tavares-3?hrid=zrVOftVnTGUTZhHynJVi8w&utm_campaign=www_review_share_postreview&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) https://www.lg.com/global/business/video-guide/LG-Multi-V-Trouble-Shooting-Guide-Error-Code-CH35 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCRiJ_GJlIc&ab_channel=GlacierSupplyGroup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg6lRdDm7p4&ab_channel=Xhaamir this one is a complete guide and has a flowchart kurt, are your techs able to read troubleshooting flowcharts ? why exactly the resistance and opposition to coming to my location prepared ? the chances are good that kurt's techs will have the same experience as brown's arctic air, so why insist that i make the same mistake again ? look up the error code, that's what it's for, then come out and fix it https://machinelounge.com/lg-mini-split-error-codes/#LG_mini_split_error_code_ch35_Meaning Possible causes: Overload operation (due to the outdoor fan being constrained, screened, or blocked). Insufficient Refrigerant due to leakage. Pressure sensor is badly connected. The compressor sensor is faulty. The PCBA is defective Suggested fixes Check for Refrigerant leakage how's that kurt? was this beyond your bailiwick ? are you able to send out a tech with a leak detector

Came back from a weekend away to an uncool house...oops...Not what I was expecting…read more i got a few names and called another recommended company who couldn't get to me till Thursday. I scheduled and let them know I'll cancel if I find someone who can see me sooner. They were pleasant and understanding about it (so I feel I have a backup!) I called Kurt's and Lisa Ann who was amazingly personable and helpful got me scheduled for tomorrow.I got a call a little while later that someone could come out today!BONUS! So John gets to my place a short time later, does a very thourough inspection after asking me what the issue is. He was amazing in his explanation of how my ac unit operates so I now have a very good understanding of the basics. Luckily, the issue was easily and inexpensively corrected(kudos for honest dealings!) I did opt for a maintenence plan as this initial experience was so positive and now I have another homeowner "go to" in my arsenal.

Pros: Positive attitude Positive vibes Honest Quick communication Actually do listen to my concerns Provides feedbacks and gave me choices to choose with recommendations so that helped my decision to be made easily. They wasted no time on the job. Cons: None! but this experience made me wish that I hired them back then.

I contacted Lake County Air Conditioning after having another company come out and look at my…read moresystem since my Nest Thermostats stopped working and I could not turn on the A/C. The company that came out wanted to charge me $1600 to replace the zone control board and change the Nest thermostats back to regular thermostats. He stated the Nest thermostats were not designed to work with a zone system. Being highly skeptical, since he only looked at the room where the zone control board was and he did not put a meter to the board, I told them I would think about it. After calling Nest and the manufacturer of my control board it was determined that the Nest thermostats do work with a zone system and the manufacturer of the zone board walked me through some troubleshooting techniques that I could do however, since I did not have a volt meter, I would have to call someone. I contacted Mike at Lake County and explained my problem to him. He immediately knew what my problem could be in that he would have to troubleshoot the system from the control board back. He said it could be something as simple as a clogged line that shut the system down. Mike came out and check the power to the control board and there was no power so it was not the control board. He then traced it back to the transformer which was getting power and then further traced the problem back to the float valve which was tripped because of water in the line. He drained the line and put the float valve back on and checked the zone control board and there was again power to the board as the lights were on the board. Problem Solved!!!!! The cost for the repair: $90.00 plus a small trip charge. What a big difference in price and quality of work. Mike was extremely honest and did not try and sell me on equipment and parts I did not need. He used basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose the problem and resolve the problem. He has earned my business from this day forward. My impression of Mike is that he is very conscious and knowledable about his craft and believes in treating his customers in and honest and fair manner. He will not upsell you just for the sake of making an extra buck or make the job seem bigger than what it is. I am extremely happy and pleased that I was able to connect with Mike at Lake County Air Condition. If you contact him, I'm sure you will be pleased too and become a customer.
