I was looking forward to dropping off my car for repairs after being recommended and reading all the great reviews. However, when I dropped off I felt unwelcomed. While explaining to the workers what the issue with the car was, I received snarky comments such as, "so you just expect us to fix the problem." After multiple sarcastic responses they then proceeded to let me know they were just "teasing me". As a woman in her 20s with a higher end car, it is difficult to find a good and honest mechanic without being taken advantage of. The unfriendly service led me to pull out my car the very next day and proceeded to find another place for the repairs. Jeff, Ron, Alan and his staffs are one of the best human beings I've encountered in my life, not alone great works they have done on so many of my Mercedes. I've owned a several high performance cars and been a customer of many different auto shops (including some performance specialists), and I can confidently say that OC Benz is the best Mercedes shop you can find in OC. Jeff and his team and I had a long complicated expensive project on my AMG and even though it was long and painful, I really had a pleasant experience. Sometimes I just stop by to say hi to the team. I inherited an older S430 with some deferred and neglected maintenance plus few other issues. Not owning any Mercedes before, I didn't know nor had any trustworthy mechanics like I do with my BMW and Lexus. I went on Yelp and Google searched for a local Mercedes mechanics, after reading through several reviews, I decided to give OC Benz a try. After a couple of days of trouble shooting, Jeff and Ron explained to me the findings and what need to be done. They squared away all issues with my classic S430 and gave me a few pointer tipper on maintaining an older car with previous history. Car now runs like new! Amazingly quiet and solid. Typical Mercedes quality. After talking with Jeff and Ron and briefly with some other mechanics at the facility, I have confident that this IS the go to shop for my S430. My "check brake" light was flashing and I was pretty certain I needed new brake pads... and on closer inspection new rotors as well (a $$$$ OEM job for an AMG). With that I was ready to bite the big-bill-bullet. After exchanging a few emails with Jeff and getting a quote on the work (brake pads and rotors all the way around), I brought my sled into the shop just off Red Hill (great location). Jeff had his team look at it and called me back 30 minutes later to tell me that my brakes were fine and my rotors were good to go. Best yet, the total bill would be $0 (even after I offered to pay him for the their time checking the car out). So hard to find a honest mechanic particularly for higher end vehicles, but that's exactly what you'll find here. My next service appointment will be with OC Benz. read more

I recently moved here, I needed a place to get my Benz serviced. I called multiple Mercedes dealerships and they quoted the service I needed between 3/4 hundred dollars. I brought it here it was a fraction of the price. My service what would have been all day at Mercedes was an 1 hr and a half. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The gentleman that answers the phone also has a good sense of humor. I wish I could bring all of my Benz friends and family here. Response to Jeff: No, it's not a joke. We brought our family mercedes to your shop some years ago for a couple of problems with the car. One of the problems was that the driver window was not working. I did some research and a lot of people with this same car on the Mercedes forums reported fixing the problem by simply reprogramming/flashing the door control module. No need to disassemble the door. I even found the official Mercedes bulletin which is sent out to Mercedes service centers nationwide (forget what this bullletin was called since this was some years ago). The bulletin said to use the reprogramming method for non-working windows. I told you guys about this, but you two were too stubborn and arrogant to listen, saying you guys are going to disassemble the door anyway. I even pulled up the official Mercedes bulletin on my phone to show you but you waved your hand at me and said "I ain't looking at that shit". You guys refused to hear me out or look at the bulletin all because your fragile little egos couldn't stand that someone might know something you don't, with all your age and experience. Not only that, you two were rude and incredibly snide, like when we expressed how high the repair cost seemed, Ron said "But look at how rich you are with your two newspapers!" since my dad had brought some newspapers he thought he would read while the repairs were being done. Also, after the repairs were done, you guys gave us a ziplock bag with half a dozen screws which were taken out of the car during repairs and you guys couldn't figure out where they came from. What? Shouldn't you guys have kept track of all these screws during disassembly and screwed them back in during re-assembly? That is some professionalism. The icing on the cake is, after we paid for all expensive repairs at your shop, the car still had problems again like a week or two later. We took it to a little repair shop next to a 76 gas station and they ended up fixing it. We should've went there in the first place, save us from the awful experience at your repair shop. read more
