Contacted Ty originally about replacing brake pads and rotors for my 2016 Audi Q5 3.0L. He gave me an estimate over the phone which was 30%-40% less than the dealership. A week later, I brought the vehicle by their shop because of a coolant issue. I met both Ty and Tim for the first time. Tim took the car back fixed the coolant issue while Ty explained what they can do about the squealing brakes (pads are 50% plus). Tim came back, handed me the keys and said no charge. My VW Jetta was driving very jerky when accelerating and decelerating, and with over 130K miles on it and a check engine light on, it was time for some maintenance to pass my smog. I left my car with Ty for a diagnostic test and he called me back later that same day to give me an update and estimate. The pricing was very reasonable for all the maintenance I had to catch up on and the estimate was spot-on, no surprises after working on the car. They were able to get my car repaired and ready for pick up by the next day! My 2012 Jetta is now running smoother and better than ever, just like new. I purchased a 2010 S6 that needed major work. I took it Beach House for a full inspection. Tim was honest, up front, and he really cares! He went through my car from head to toe. He itemized the necessary repairs. He explained the repairs clearly & took the time to fix ONLY what was necessary & understood my budget was tight... Ty & Tim helped me complete a major engine job on my car that would have been over $20K if I took it to Audi dealer. With their patience and help I was able to get almost a completely rebuilt motor; and also replaced two rear lights, one front running light & a total front headlamp assembly. The engine in a 2010 S6 is a V-10 and it is a fine tuned machine; very difficult & time consuming to work on. Tim & Ty gave me a maintenance schedule to follow, and a year later with only regular oil changes my car is still purring like a kitten. 150K miles & it drives like new! Tim & Ty know their stuff. Way over inflated pricing. My driver side headlight went out. I took it to Beach House Imports after inspecting Audi A6 they said that the ballast was defective and needed to be replaced. They charged me $850. Tim Bunning told me it was a big deal and they had to pull the bumper off. The part was $350 and the balance was labor because it was a big deal. The light worked for 6 days when it went out again instead of taking responsibility they said it's probably your headlight is now bad after looking at it they said yes we think it's going to be your headlight. I argued for a bit saying how could that possibly happen 6 days later it's now another part with the exact same symptom. He told me to expect it to be around $1,500 for the new light. At this point I had absolutely no confidence that I was not going to be taken advantage of further so I took it someplace else. They quickly diagnosed it as a bad ballast. They told me that it's not a big job and they gave me a total price of $290. I came back two days later after they received the part. I watched them do most of the job it was incredibly straight forward. I guess Beach House Imports has to make it seem like it's a big deal so they can squeeze as much money as they can out of their customers. My family owned one A4 and two Q5. Audi is a great brand, however it comes with some very expensive and difficult repair issues. 10 years ago, our A4 had continuous variable transmission issue. Tim helped me to replace new one at a very reasonable price, far below dealer's cost. Today, Tim did again, our 2012 Q5 had timing chain problem which is extremely labor intensive and expensive to replace. Tim and his team took great patience, identified several convoluted issues and solve extremely technical problem. Even better the price Tim charged is far below dealer's. I called about programming a 3rd party key fob and a man that answered the phone said that an actual VW key is recommended so that makes sense. BUT the programming cost the exact amount as the actual dealership so i realized that and said it and he said no not really and just stopped and said ok bye. So really if he was trying to tell me it was cheaper somehow, then why did he say bye??? He was very quick at the end when I brought up the dealership but I was just trying to see my best option.. I can tell who I spoke to was not good at his costumer service but I guess i do want information on an issue when I call.. Came here to get my headlamps replaced on my VW - easy in and easy out. I didn't schedule an appt - called the week before, the guy on the phone quoted $40. When I came in, the person I spoke to (forgot his name since I'm writing this a few days later) actually offered to replace both headlamps for $50 - I'm thinking I've already saved 50% off what a dealer would charge for labor costs. I put an unprogrammed key in the ignition of my 2006 Passat by mistake. "IMMOBILIZER ACTIVE" started flashing on the instrument panel--and the key wouldn't come out! I googled the problem and couldn't find a solution. I called 3 VW dealers but couldn't get a live person. I called 2 independent VW shops. They both made suggestions but weren't sure they'd work. The key wouldn't come out. I called Beach House Imports since they were the nearest shop, and I figured I'd have to be towed. UGH. Ben answered the phone and said, "Put your foot on the brake, push the button twice on the transmission selector lever and you should be able to pull the key out." The key came out, the right one popped in...and the car started! Then Ben said if I want the new key programmed, they can do it. I'll be by this week. Thanks, Ben.
