I had a horrible experience!!!!! Not only was I VERY polite I explained what I wanted which was a manicure. I was Screamed at by the man who was doing my nails because I asked if he was going to clean my cuticles up. Then he started to clean up and told me to go to person who did my manicure before. When I asked woman at front if I may speak with a manager I was told " No mngr. I asked for mngr phn # and was told mngr has No phn!" I felt discriminated against and was humiliated in front of 6 customers and 4 employees. I had to talk myself out of crying. I pray that no one ever has this type of experience. I stopped by to make an appointment and was able to get a time to fit my schedule. I was greeted the next day and had plenty of OPI colors to pick from for my "regular" (not gel or acrylic) manicure. My tech was good - not rushed or slow. She was diligent and thorough, even when doing the lotion/hand and lower arm massage. I really wish I just wouldn't of walked into this place, but I gave it a shot since I'm new to the area and my last stop was the UPS store right next door. I went in for a fill and pedicure. Pedicure was ok, the tech cut me and never once apologized, or asked if it hurt or anything. Instead he drenched my toe with alcohol to try and get it stop bleeding. I then was handed over to another tech for my fill. They both argued that I had powder on my nails, which I had gone to a separate salon for and it was acrylic mixed with powder (for a milky white color) which fine if you just want a fresh set then just say that but it took forever to remove my nails because they thought it was just powder which it wasn't. Anyways it got pretty busy while I was getting my nails done and you can tell my tech (older guy, maybe the owner?) was stressed. He kept looking up or looking around while doing my nails. I have crooked nails, and the they are so fat and wide. The gel is padded on so my nails look thick. I paid $100 for this crap. Worst part is that I asked to have them filed to match each other multiple times and he just didn't listen or did whatever he wanted and never once asked if it was ok or what I asked for. Came in for the first time. Was very excited to get nail done as where I'm from, it's still not allowed. The lady who greeting me was nice and all seemed good. When they were ready for me, the lady just finished another customer. She didn't use sanitizer to clean the basin. I was sitting right next to the stall so I know. I questioned the method and protocol, and this lady got pissed! She did offer another stall and I was fine with that. The biggest problem I had was the fact every person who worked there stopped and started at me and said NOTHING to my disinfecting protocol question. Just completely RUDE! No customer service skills. Great service. You can usually get in right away if necessary. I went this week and got Andy. He is very quiet, which I like, and did a beautiful job. I have also used Tony before and he does great foot massage! Someone remarked they speak in their own language. Well, duh!! So do we. If you worked somewhere all day, you would like to converse with your co-workers too. These people work so hard all day. It's a tough job, with little appreciation. Went to get a gel manicure, the man who did it was very rough. I left with a cut and bleeding cuticle. The next day I had a bruise on my arm from the "massage". But, none have provided the high quality of care and service that I've gotten from Tracy. Obebe isn't the fanciest salon I've been to. But Tracy has every tool and knows all the latest techniques to create any nail design you can come up with. She is meticulous as she works taking care that your cuticles aren't damaged but the nail coating (in my case its dip powder) is as smooth as the hood of my car. During the process she is focused on doing her best while still maintaing a pleasant, upbeat attitude. And, unlike most nail techs I've been to, she also gives a world-class pedicure! This is not a good a good place. Several times in the last few months I have gone there for eyebrow waxing as I have done for the last two years since moving out here. Recently (not sure if owners have changed) my visits have been turned away telling me they are booked when anyone was barely inside being serviced. The only one time I did get in to get a fill in for my nails and he guy tried I charge me $10 more for long nails...???? Umm what? This is not a hair salon where a stylist to spend extra time doing long hair. ‍ Needless to say he have have felt bad and said he would not charge extra. So yesterday I decided to follow up since the guy who did my nails was pretty decent and not have to drive the extra three miles elsewhere. The woman (I've never seen her) very happily asked me "how can I help you" I told her I wanted a fill in and wax. The same woman at the first table makes a comment and the girl turns around to her and turns back to me asking me if I had an appointment, I said no. From there they claimed to be booked and turned me away. I noticed as well there is a sign "we can refuse service to anyone" Really? Why? Just because? When I told my mom about this she told me last year when I went to get my wax she had came in and saw discussing me as she made the notions of the hair style I had (pigtail buns) How weird I am having this experience. I am not a rude person and clearly I have money to spend and I'm not a cheap tipper either. So what gives? While they can turn away service can I make the same complaint to stop speaking about people in their native language? Whoever is the owner is just downright rude. I can understand why people would go here for the convenience, however, I'm driving the extra miles to Golden Nails (I gave them a positive review) They are much better, cleaner and I never have seen them turn customers away. Also while they do speak their native tongue, they don't seem to do the whispers when you sit down and begin speaking amongst themselves. Honestly I never leave bad reviews for a place because I am in the service industry and I know sometimes you just get alittle unlucky. Yesterday I went to get my nails re dipped. I usually go somewhere else but decided to try here as it was closer to work. I went in and asked for a sheer pink, I picked out the color and the lady informed me It was a light pink. I was ok with light pink but made sure to ask her if It would show up pink like on the "nail" they had painted. She said yes, and It didn't. The color was completely clear. I asked multiple people and It wasn't at all the way it should've looked. I let her know I had tips on and that I didn't want them off I wanted to have it on for extra length. She ignored me and soaked my nails for too long and the tip came off and she didn't put another one on. She then cut my nails super short and filed them even shorter causing one nail to hurt super bad as it was filed way short and thin. I called back which took a lot out of me, I hate complaining, but I spent 40$ on nails I wasn't happy with. They said I could come back in to get them fixed. I came in today after work. I was greeted at the door by a lady and then she asked me what was wrong with them as I was explaining the woman who had done my nails yesterday ran up and they started speaking Vietnamese and the lady who Did my nails seemed super pissy I came back. They sat me down with a man who would re do my nails. They gave me colors to look at, and then the last approached me with another lady confronting me on the color I had chosen yesterday and I explained that It didn't show up the way It was supposed to and I just want a darker pink. I then had the man start on my nails, and one lady continuously watched over him while he did my nails. Not saying much to me at all. He didn't ask me what shape I wanted, he didn't ask me if I wanted the tip back on. He was very rough, and kept digging his long thumb nail into the skin near my fingernails to push them down. Which one, is gross and unsanitary and two rude. He filed my nails down even lower than the lady before and was basically filing my skin down. He even dug his nail under my thumb nail which was sore from the last lady filing and made me bleed alittle, instead of saying sorry he stuck some gel polish over it and stuck It under the light. He rushed me in and out. Wasn't super friendly. I also had a accident with the last acrylic set I had about a month ago and my nail came off completely I let him know of this because I didn't want the nail touched as It was growing back. And instead he embarrassed me and had Co workers walking up staring at my nail. And he poked at It with his fingernail. And continued to talk to his co workers in Vietnamese and laughing while looking at it. My gel polish top coat is already peeling off one of my nails and I had them "re done" 3 hours ago. They never once apologized to me. Like I said, I hate to do this, but this is not how a business should be ran. It's rare I get to treat myself to getting my nails done, and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I work in the beauty service industry and would NEVER treat a client the way I was treated here. I'd get some new employees. as for me, I won't be returning. The first time I got a pedicure here the technician cut my cuticles (twice). Accidents happen - so I came back a second time. This time they sat me down in a manicure station. I asked for a gel fill and they tried to pressure me into a dip. When I politely declined, another customer walked in (with no appt) and the technician took another customer while I waited. If you're getting SNS DIP do NOT go here. They wanted to use UV light with a gel coat. The entire reason for sns is to avoid uv. Not to mention it's faster to dry. I just spent 3 hours on a service that should only take 20-30 mins. They had to redo my entire set so now my nails are extremely sore. I tried to say something and the lady who "fixed" my nails still charged me full price and yelled at me in front of the whole lobby. Worst customer service ever!! I'm all for training and I would rather the customers leave happy then just care about the money. I'm even considering reporting them to the BBB and sanitation is questionable. I had Kim as my nail tech and she was very meticulous in doing my nails; she took her time and made sure they turned out perfect. Last time I had a male nail tech (didn't ask his name) but he was excellent as well. I love the mint walls inside-it really brightens it up. Went into this Salon without an appointment feeling awful and dejected about what another Salon had done to my nails, I just want them off was my plan. I don't even care what's underneath. That's what I thought. Tracy was welcoming and compassionate. Said she would take care of me and she did. She had a gentle touch and did not want to hurt me. For nearly 2 hours she worked to get those thick fake nails off, saving as much of my own nail as was possible. We dipped and shined and dipped and made them SPARKLE. I have had an appt. before and then had to wait as long as a 1/2 hour longer, however, they were so apologetic and they gave me a substantial discount because of it. Really, I would be willing to drive to get the service I receive at Obebe Nails. Luckily it is just around the corner from my house, so I go there a lot. I have never had a bad experience, and just about everyone has worked on me. I get a lot of pedicures there and they are BY FAR the cleanest, most sanitary I've ever seen. They are gentle and listen to my concerns and follow through. Once I made a comment about the cute oriental broom they used to sweep up, and my nail tech offered to buy me one next time she went to the Korean market. Three weeks later, she had it for me, and I tried to pay her more than it cost and she happily refused. I am really picky when it comes to nail salons. I went here because I was new to STV and it was close to my home. I've gone back a handful of times usually to get a full set of full and once a pedicure. I give them a four star rating when it comes to quality. I've had a different nail tech each time I've gone and they did a great job. But for customer service I give them a low star rating. I had the owner the first time and she seemed friendly so that's why I came back. When I got a pedicure, it was good they used a timer so you do get your money worth when it comes to time spent actually massaging your legs and feet. But I went in tonight and now I don't feel the need to go back. I had the owners daughter as my nail tech and she was great. I liked her a lot. I just didn't care for the fact that it was 25 mins til closing and all the other techs were mopping the floors and closing up shop. I mean there were still three customers in there and they were closing. It's one of my pet peeves when places close up shop and there is still time before closing. Also. When I said I was picky about my nail salons it's because I don't like going places when they are all speaking a different language and laughing. You can't help but wonder if they are talking and laughing at you. I don't mind them communicating to eachother here and there. But for them to be talking so loudly and nonstop, and all of them just laughing it up, I just think it's rude. So I don't think I'll be back. Time to look for another place. read more
