As the President of my HOA, my neighbors/fellow homeowners all rely on me to keep our building running smoothly. So when our security phone (intercom) at the gate malfunctions and the mail carrier can't even get in to deliver mail, I need to act fast and have the right contacts at my disposal. Thanks to my awesome building management company (Rubin and Associates) for sussing out the best vendors, because I have called O.B. Neumann for help with our intercom since 2006, and they have always come to the rescue! Paul (yes, Neumann heehee) is the owner and technician, and there are times he has literally been here within the hour and repaired our problem just as fast. Other days when he's busy, he'll tell me how long he will be - and he is always true to his word. The only one time in the last 7 years that he wasn't able to get here on the same day was because he was having a once-in-ten-years vehicle issue. Since I value the information that's programmed in our phone (everyone's unit numbers and contact phone numbers), I wouldn't dare trust anyone else but him, so I waited til he was mobile once again. I only had to wait one day, and he came on a weekend but charged us the regular weekday rate. And of course fixed our problem immediately. Oh! And if I'm not at the building when he arrives, he'll text me the outcome and that the problem is fixed. SO perfect! Not only is Paul an obviously skilled technician and very well respected by my management company (they use him for all of their clients), but he is a pleasure to talk to. He jokingly gives me his condolences when I call, because he knows the headaches that can come with being an HOA President and the juggling that is called for. This makes me laugh, because it is the truth! If you have an intercom in your building and you never EVER want to have to re-program every single number into it again because somebody less skilled tried to repair it, you've got to keep Paul in your cell phone contacts and use him. BEWARE: THE OWNERS OF THIS COMPANY ARE LIARS. We had a $20,000 theft in our parking structure due to a gate malfunction. I called Mr. Neuman and asked if our HOA president notified him of the broken gate to which he replied "yes she did on Friday night and i let her know they would not be fixed until Monday." WORD FOR WORD. At that time, he didn't know the reason for my inquiry. Well when it came to the recorded statement with the insurance company, he lied for fear of the HOA president and losing the business. Now I am out the $20,000 as the insurance company denied the claim due to his untruthful statement. Don't use this company under any circumstances. I have also reported this to the better business bureau. When confronting Paul regarding said issue - he claims to "not remember any conversation" and hung up on me. read more

Paul was great! We had a problem with our door system and he was able to help us right away. He was very accomodating to our schedule, made himself available, very precise in his communication, friendly, and went the extra mile. Would definitely seek his help again! And even though the fix was easy (it really was, like wow! but when you're looking at a circuit board and you don't know what you're looking at, it's not that easy!), he's not hired for the complexity always of the problem, but for his expertise/knowledge on it that you don't know. Just like any other profressional you pay. You're paying for their knowledge and ability. So the review below about it was so easy, took less than 30 min...from Cedrick might consider it was 1) knowledge they didn't have so they needed an expert (otherwise obviously they would have done it themselves) and 2) just because it looked easy to that person, it might be easy for tech because they have the experience (ability). Idk, i wasn't there. But I do know our problem was a big problem, and the solution/cause was a ridiculously easy fix...but none of us knew...now we do,and know for the future, but that's why there are professionals, IMO. read more

This company is holding our master code hostage so we have to use them to make any changes to the numbers programmed into the system. We have no contract requiring these services, so they are using the vantage point of having installed it to prevent us from making changes ourselves. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I agree with the filtered 1 star review. Our HOA hadn't been paying attention to vendors or finances in the past, and we were charged $450 for screwing in a small 6" metal ring in the wall. I was there during the 30 minutes of work so I know it wasn't complicated, and it was arranged through a property manager whom we've since fired. I haven't met Paul and we had delegated this expense, but just wanted it mentioned. read more

Paul at OB Neumann is the very first person that I would call if you have any kind of electronic entry system, which is common for apts and gate communities. He's super helpful and very quick to respond to phone calls or emails. He taught me how to download manufacturer software to allow me to manage the entry system at the gated community where I serve on the homeowners association board of directors. I can now add or delete resident phone numbers without having to call my property manager and have them send out a tech. Paul taught me how to fish instead of selling me fish. But I will certainly recommend him and refer him to anyone else I come across who needs a gate or entry system specialist. read more

We called this company to fix our automatic gate. Response time was pretty good, but Paul came out and only did half the job. He didn't know how to fix it right because he didn't know the details of our system. He left us with a non-working gate and our residents couldn't enter the property! We called him to tell him the problem. He admitted he didn't know the details of our system and that his regular worker who knew the system was out-of-town. He had to call the other guy to get the instructions to fix our gate opener correctly. Paul came back the 2nd day and fixed it right but charged us for coming back to fix it. When we refused to pay for the 2nd trip, and explained we were happy to pay for the first trip and all other expenses, he refused to revise his invoice. He did nothing but harass our management company and our board members multiple times. He refused to admit he was wrong and does not care about customer service. His behavior is like an unruly child, stamping his feet and screaming to try to get his way. This is not the first bad experience we've had with this company but it will be the last! We do not recommend this company! Their work is sloppy and inefficient and you'll pay for their mistakes! read more

Our HOA has been VERY lucky to have his company help for many years with any Garage gate issues we have had--parts, repairs etc. Also helps with our front Directory intercom box. Paul is the man when it comes to all things gate and entry system related. I own a property management company and almost all of my associations have some type of garage gate and/or entry systems. If you know anything about these mechanical devices then you know they often break down and need service. Paul and his team always respond immediately and almost always take care of the problem without a hitch. Sometimes, these gates or intercom systems are shot and need to be replaced and they can also do this as well. If you need gate or intercom service look no further and pick up the phone and call them! read more
