I guess the Asians in Seattle need to drink boba and milk teas too. Or as they call it here "bubble tea". Coming from Southern California, I'm extremely spoiled by the plethora of Asian Tea shops pretty much on every block. Oasis Tea Zone is one of those dime a dozen places that I would probably go to once, and won't ever go back to. However, this is Seattle, and their choices are limited. The place is decorated pretty cute and there are plenty of tables and such so it is an ideal place to catch up with your friends. Their menu seemed pretty large too so take your pick on what kind of drink you want. We got the Almond Milk Tea with grass jelly and Honeydew Milk tea with pudding. It was fine. Both drinks were refreshing after a long walk. I think it was a little watered down though. Just slightly. Get it half sweetened too because I think it runs on the sweeter side. Pudding is pretty good too but it's not soft. I can't complain too much because I think the Asian district in Seattle is relatively small. I'm just spoiled because I get the good stuff back at home. Their bubble tea is actually quite delicious. Ten times better than Gossip. I always get taro slush, mango slush, milk tea, and or thai tea here and it's delicious. This is the only bubble tea place I go to, and there's a reason for that. IT'S GOOD. The popcorn chicken was alright. A-OK is convenience and friendly staff only--not really the quality of the offerings like milk tea flavorings etc. The last time I was here, I had the lavender milk tea, which tasted like Tinkerbell perfume from the 80's in my mouth. It was so terrible, neither my guy nor I could finish ours (why, oh why did we have to order the same thing?) I threw away 3/4 of mine. The Taro flavor is MUCH better (sometimes made too sweet.) but it's always a good standard flavor most places you go. The cookies are really buttery and crumble apart at the slightest touch. I've tasted the Peppermint "snow" there, and I have to say that I don't get it. It tastes like mouthwash lol! Might be the only bubble tea/boba joint in downtown Seattle that I am aware of. Conveniently located near Chinatown, the insides are spacious with abundant tables and chairs with even some games as well. The menu was quite expansive with all sorts of flavors offered. With a sweet tooth, I ordered my usual Honeydew MT, with extra sweetness and light ice. Decent price as expected from boba places Unfortunately, my drink was filled with 1/3 ice, making it taste watery halfway through. Fob central, what can I say! A small price to pay to get good bubble tea. I especially like the Matcha Milk Tea (try it with Rainbow Jelly!). And of course Jasmine Milk Tea is always good (hot or cold). In the Fall/Winter I find that getting a hot/warm milk tea drink with pearls here extremely more satisfying than a $4.00 latte from Starbucks or equivalent. I would avoid this place on weekend nights for the following reasons: 1) there is scarce parking in the ID 2) there are a lot of fobs & sweaty clubbers here getting their drink on and getting some leftovers from the Belltown meat markets. read more

I think the most annoying part of this place is that fact that they constantly change up the "rules" that the other oasis doesn't make up. I usually order HK milk tea with egg pudding and either mini boba or coffee jelly. I went in the other day and they told me that they were not allowed to mix egg pudding with anything else. This boba spot in Seattle's China town was crackin' for a Sunday night! Felt like I was at a 16+ club in Asia. Cool vibe with a lot of space to hang out with friends but unfortunately the drinks were just mediocre. I like Oasis. It's more of a 3.5 stars for me. I love that they're open fairly late and I really dig all the seating they offer. I always want to play Jenga when I come here (or come here to play Jenga depending on how you want to look at it) and sometimes there is no Jenga to be had... and then I cry melancholy Jayseph tears of disappointment. The last time I was here the dude working the counter was super rad, friendly and funny which is saying something since he was nearly 12 hours into his shift. Good on you, dude. I've had two different flavors of 'snow' here. Think of a snow as a Slurpee type of beverage. Both were pretty good if not hard to drink towards the end due to lack of viscosity. When it comes to bubble tea, Oasis is MY JAM! I look forward to every visit. If you're not familiar with bubble tea, you should be. It that originated in Taiwan and is a milky tea drink with flavors like strawberry, blueberry, coconut, almond, sesame, and tons of others. But the star of this delicious beverage is the "bubbles" (or "boba" or "beads" or your term of choice). Chewy, gummy little tapioca beads that rest in the bottom of your cup, each waiting for his chance to be sucked up through the over-sized straw and chewed into delicious oblivion. Please understand, I know that this sounds really gross to the uninitiated. Until recently, I avoided the boba entirely. I don't like tapioca pudding (though maybe I should try it again), and the idea of chewy little balls in my drink grossed me the heck out. But once I tried the boba in someone else's drink, I realized that they're just inexplicably great. They don't have any taste at all, but it turns the activity of drinking into something more akin to eating candy. Plus when your milk tea is gone and all you have left is ice and some boba, it turns into a game of "can I get all the boba with out sucking one of them into my windpipe and choking to death?" (a treasured pastime for kids of all ages). But enough evangelizing. Oasis is my favorite place for bubble tea because they have a huge selection of flavors and types of drinks. Plus it's where all the cool Asian kids hang out, and they're way ahead of us whiteys in all things awesome. I've had the milk tea and the "snow," which is basically a milk tea slush. My favorite flavor here is the green apple, but the almond is really good, too. Sometimes the service is lacking. They don't seem to make the drinks in the order that they are ordered, and occasionally they'll forget to make your drink. Oasis is the cheese to my macaroni, the peanut to my butter, the yin to my yang! Jk they're alright but this bubble tea place has been my kick it spot since I was a wee laddy when I was too young to go out with the big kids and my go to location when I have nothing to do on a Friday night. Even when I do go out in Seattle, sometimes I leave the bars early just so I can make it in time to get some late night boba! Lol they recently renovated the place with nicer seats and tables and expanded so there's lots of more room to share the love for boba. They have lots of games to play if you choose to sit and hang out there like janga, cards, board games, etc! As for their actual bubble tea, everything I get always hits the spot! Most of the time I get regular Hong Kong milk tea or Thai iced tea (basic I know) but they execute it perfectly! Got to Oasis and the line was to the door and the place was packed. You would have thought you were at some Asian club or whatever. There were kids in the back in their prom gear. Oasis wasn't smelling too nice the night I was there. We walked in and it smelt like durian and B.O. Nasty! I know durian is an acquired smell and taste. It's not on my list of favorite foods. My friends and I walked into Oasis this evening because they wanted Bubble Tea; which I'm not a fan of. But I was SUPER excited that they have shaved ice! My friends got their teas, and 5 minutes went by. And 10 minutes went by. Finally at 15 minutes, I went to the counter and asked about how much longer I would have to wait for my shaved ice; watching my friends near the end of their teas. The girl laughs and tells me, "Oh, they haven't started it yet.". I looked at her, my face turning from a polite, impatient smile to, Oh Hell No She Didn't Just Do That dead stare. So I told her, "Look, just give me my money back. I don't even want the shaved ice anymore. My friends have finished their teas. The whole point of us ordering together, was for us to enjoy our treats TOGETHER." So she walked away to get the manager. The manager rudely tells me, "I told you it was going to take awhile for it to be made!"; which he did not. It doesn't take 20 minutes to make shaved ice. But maybe they failed to mention that the ice needed to made. That, I could understand. We will NEVER be back. The customer service is horrible, and the tea is only mediocre. Save your time and your money - and find another company. This place is a complete and utter failure, not to mention - OVERPRICED. As a business owner, I would NEVER treat anyone that came into my business hoping to try us out with that treatment. I would have refunded the money and still made the shaved ice for the inconvenience. But they didn't. They hardly apologized; I doubt the half attempt was heartfelt. read more

I love their spicy popcorn chicken and crave for it sometimes. Consistent with the spice and flavor but sometimes they give you less or more than usual. I love when they give a lot to me and I always get it to go with honey mustard sauce. Their specialty drinks are really good especially the matcha blast and Oreo. I've tried the others too. This place reminds me of that hang out spot that all the kids from my favorite '90s/'00s TV shows were always at. Boy Meets World had Chubbie's. Lizzie McGuire had the Digital Bean. That 70s Show had the basement. It's not that great when you're 26. Why are there so many children here? And why does the staff have to call order numbers so damn loud? And so aggressively? Seriously, the shouting is making my muscles tense and I just got a massage. It's killing my vibe. Wow, I sound really bitchy right now. I make it a point to not complain about petty shit. But it wouldnt be an honest review if I didn't suggest that there's a certain demographic that this place appeals to and other demographics that would want to steer clear. That said, the Capitol Hill location is more tolerable - more hipsters but less middle schoolers. The bubble tea is good. Not the best you can get in International District. But it will suffice. Oasis is my fav bubble tea spot in Seattle. Not all of their flavors are amazing, but I love alot of them and they're cheap. I normally go to the Oasis on the ave, but every once in a while its more convenient to go to the ID Oasis. Just like the U store, the menu is extensive. There is a fair amount of seating, though its not incredibly clean. Alot of teens hang out there, which can be kind of annoying, but I don't generally spend alot of time at this Oasis. The other one I have spent hours at doing hw or watching netflix, but this one isnt as cozy or clean, or quiet. My favs are the green apple slush/green tea, the mango slush, and the thai tea. During the day, you can see impatient people waiting curbside with their engines running for the person they just sent in to finish buying the drinks and get out because parking isn't free. At nighttime however, its PACKED. I think it's because the street parking is free after 6pm and on Sundays. Inside, they've got a table arcade PacMan and a pinball machine. High scores range around 30 million for pinball, so I don't recommend trying to place up there unless you've got lots of time and money. The honeydew slush is pretty sweet but that's the way I like it. Guava black tea is pretty good too, it tasted like it had honey in it. Next time I'm going to try the honeydew milk juice. Uwajimaya no longer has bubble tea in the food court (replaced by the crappy new fro-yo), but Oasis Tea Zone is right across the street. Oasis is cozy albeit dark & like Cindy W. says, a bit of a "teenybopper pit". But to be honest, I have never had bubble tea in a non-teenybopper atmosphere. But their customer service is far below par. Tonight I waited for my 3 drinks for 10 minutes as they served up the drinks of the 10 people who had come after me. Asian food and drinks are usually soooo much better anywhere you go on the west coast but this place proved to be the exception. Met with friends here for post-dinner bubble tea since it's open late and OMGGGG sooooo disappointed. The mung bean w/ milk and boba was terrible. Mung bean was beyond undercooked and crunchy, which then doesn't blend well into the drink. The fact that it shows up on the menu as "green bean" should have been a hint that this place is meh. This is my go-to boba shop. VERY simple and satisfying drinks at a decent price. Staff members are pleasant. The atmosphere is difficult for me to get comfortable in so I usually order to-go. They only have plastic and wooden seating and the decor is lacking something. I usually get the red and green bean smoothie with boba and egg pudding. They use real beans. The egg pudding is soft and the boba is chewy and good! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious boba drink. It's a short trip to ID from Belltown. ICK. Both times that I came here, it was because no other boba places were open late. The first time, I ordered a lychee black tea drink, which was watered down. Their tapioca balls were bland and either crunchy in the middle (undercooked) or falling apart in my straw (overcooked). I rarely, rarely ever don't finish my boba drinks, but this was one time I did. The second time I went, the balls were still subpar, but the drink at least wasn't as watered down. The good thing about this place is that they offer two sizes. The ambience is a little high schoolish, like some other reviewers said. You walk in, and people turn to see who just walked in. Last time I went, my friends and I sat near the TV and had a good laugh watching a Japanese obstacle course competition. So if you really want boba late at night, this probably is your only choice.
