I lived in Freeport 10 years ago but have been living in Chicago. I frequented (now closed) Ruby Nails when I lived here & stopped by whenever I was in town. I'm in town for a wedding & needed a pedicure. After seeing that Ruby is now closed, I drove in search of a salon. When I walked in, I was greeted & directed to pick my color. There aren't many colors to choose from. They have plenty of Essie colors but there aren't 100s to choose from. Fortunately, I was able to match a polish to my nails. I sat in the chair & my pedicure began. Issue: 1) They don't place towels underneath your feet. They use a paper towel instead. This isn't comfortable but I don't hold this against the nail tech. 2) The towel used to dry my feet left white lint on my legs. While my feet dried, a man offered me a free 5 minute massage. I have gone here a few times and in the last two times i have gotten a pedicure by the same person unfortunately, who frequent chairs 6 and 7. The first time she kept cutting me with the drill, which left me with multiple micro tears in my skin as well as taking well over an hour to do the pedicure. The second time i wasn't aware she was doing my toes as someone else was in front of the chair when i got there, she began to do my toes and i gave her the benefit of the doubt. She proceeded to cut me again with her drill, never turned the circulation in the pedicure base, dropped the nail cutters on the floor and never wiped them off and then when she got to lotion my legs she kept her gloves on and started rubbing my legs with the same dust from the drill, i left. This nail & spa is conveniently located but I don't recommend, if your going to do a pedi then you should see the Spanish girls do great pedicure, but anyone looking to do Uv gel nails or acrylic don't do ur nails here they have absolutely no clue and overcharge for the bad work. Not to mention I had a guy who kept taking care of clients as they came in, as if I had all day with an inpatient toddler no consideration whatsoever. They were very rude and inconsiderate, I had an event to go to and my nails were already taken off so I was stuck doing it. But never again. I went here with my friend for the first time I have been growing out my natural nails for some time now and whatever I go I get the same thing which is a gel powder everywhere I go charges me no more then 45-50 when the lady told me the price she said 91 dollars and I told her to break down the price first she told me it was because it was a 61 dollar charge for soak off and I asked her if she said soak off because nobody in their right mind would pay 61 dollars for a soak off so when I asked the other lady if that's true that you charge that much she said no she said they're charging me for a soak off and for the UV gel set and 30 dollars for a design where I usually go I spend 100 dollars for my hands and feet not 91 dollars just for my hands which doesn't have tip or anything my friend who went with me had gotten a whole brand new set and paid less then me and she brought her little sister who got a mani and pedi and my friend got new set and toes done I'm so livid with the price they charged me I will NEVER go there again for that I could've went where I usually go and gotten my toes done as well with acrylic tips read more

So I was recommended to come here and I decided I was gonna give it a try and the first time I went there I asked for a mani & pedi & first of all, they had 3 different people working on me & at the end the literally HUNT you down for the tip, they will ask you for tip for ALL the people that worked on you before they can even finish the job, the tip was coming but can you finish the job first ? I started going to oasis nails nails when I was 14, which was even before the current owners were around. I use to get pedis and fill-ins/Tips. My usual main issue with the place was their lack of color options and they were not really up to date with new trends in the nail industry. I recall them charging me $1 for ever little stone I wanted on my nails. 10 year of being a loyal customer through the good and the bad when I had the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. As I was getting a pedicure, the unlicensed tech cut too deep into my nail and I bled profusely. I was in so much pain, she had gone in too deep. I stopped the pedicure and wanted to leave, but on m way out the owner (who has known me and seen me bi-weekly for years) stops me and charged me full price for a half done pedi. A couple of days later, I realized I had an infection on my toe from the cut, and informed the nail salon. They didn't seem one bit concerned. I then went to their wall where their certificates stand and realized about half their workers weren't certified, then I took the extra step and contacted the health department and started an investigation on the place. It has now been over three years since I've been here and I don't plan on going back. Horrible customer service and no loyalty to their loyal customers. Customer service should be #1 for every business. My experience could have been handled totally different and they could have kept my business. read more

I came here on a sister date with my significant other's sister and we had a good experience. The place is clean and big. They need more choices in colors but they have a sufficient amount. The massage chairs while you get a pedicure are so amazing. They give a really good pedicure I just wish they scrubbed my heels a little more. Cindy I believe her name was did a really good fill in but they charged me $2 extra to cut my tips which I thought was nonsense. Its part of the fill in! However, other than that they were pretty fast and did a good job. They were a little pricey for Freeport but it was sufficient. Would i return? I usually don't have any complaints about this salon other than the fact that it's very pricey. But they do a good job most times. However, the lady with a smiley face pin (doesn't have a name tag) was very aggressive while doing my nails. She would push down my cuticles with her nails very hard which caused discomfort. When she filing and buffing my nails she was cutting my skin almost and rushing through it. I was scared she was going to cut my finger. I was very annoyed. Fill in (gel mani) and reg. pedi $68.00. Lately, I've noticed, on the 2nd day, my gel will chip at the tip of the nail. My manicurists always fixes it, but I shouldn't have to go back the next day. I broke two nails after 3 days while I was opening a cabinet!! The top of my nails just popped right off it didn't hurt I'm guessing they use cheap acrylic. When I went to get it fixed and telling her what happened I was told it was $8 because I should know what comes with acrylic nails and I'm responsible the minute my nails are done. I just left because I wasn't going to go back and forth with her. Even after a week I'd understand or if I had been lifting or cleaning. Me and my daughters, both of them, went to The Nail Salon Oasis Nails on Merrick Road in Freeport. When it came to paying the bill after already paid, the manager comes up to me and tells me that Sofia has to pay $14 dollars instead of the original price because she's tall. Now you know that I was pissed. I've heard of age restrictions, 10 and under at a certain price for children, but I have never heard because she's tall or because any child is tall, that they should pay more money for being tall. While talking with them, they apparently thought something was funny. My baby felt like there was something wrong with her. You know I went off in there. That's right the mom Beast came out and I am now boycotting them and I would appreciate if you did too. Just because our daughters are tall does not mean that they should be treated differently that is the main point. It's discrimination, just as you getting charged a certain price because of your color, or because of your race! She felt unfairly treated and cried. read more
