Hmmm - claims she called me but my phone was taking voicemails. TOTAL LIE, I told her I made my appt a week in advance and made it specifically for Saturday as I work- she was extremely nasty and kept ranting and raving how she wasted 2 hours- 2 hours doing what- clipping your nails- why would she call me at 4pm if my appt was at 1pm- ABSOLUTELY ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE- and didn't want to fix the issue or admit that maybe she wrote it wrong in her appt book. SHe honestly sounded like she was lying- cause she kept on saying how she was busy tomm and then told me to get my money back from Groupon- DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE if they can't treat customers with respect I can't even imagine the type of work they do on someone's hair

They really take their time with your hair and focus on keeping it healthy, not just making it look good for the day. You can tell they truly care about their clients. Their salon even reflects their faith with their "In God We Trust" message, which I appreciate. The salon is clean, conveniently located in Elmont, and they're very accommodating. Their prices are a little higher than some other Dominican salons in the area, but in my opinion, it's worth paying a little extra for the care, professionalism, and quality of service you receive. If you're looking for a salon that treats your hair with care and makes you feel welcome every visit, I definitely recommend Dominican Sisters Beauty Salon.

Always going up for absolutely no reason. Let's be very clear: they do the BARE MINIMUM and charge like it's luxury service. I came in with my clip-ins already washed, brought my own shampoo and conditioner, and didn't even get a braid down... yet somehow I'm being charged over $100 EVERY time. The last visit was the final straw AFTER i handed her a tip off of courtesy $170 for WHAT exactly? No curls, no style, nothing special. Just vibes and audacity. And the excuse? My clip-ins were "damp." Mind you, she literally used MY rubber bands to install them. No professionalism, no consistency, just random upcharges pulled out of thin air. ' There are NO posted prices, which should've been my first red flag. They make up numbers as they go and tack on mystery fees for doing next to nothing. It honestly feels like a scam at this point. Save your money and your time. There are way too many talented, honest stylists out here to be dealing with this kind of nonsense - NEVER AGAIN ! they say that they are god fearing but their prices and efforts are from HELL!

Most of the salons near me NEVER do what I ask them to do. There is an addiction to stiff spritz hairspray and styles in my neighborhood. I ask for NO hairspray, knowing they can't help but spray the sticky, stiff stuff. WHAT. Is the point. Of washing my hair. JUST to put all that nasty product in it??? Well, I walked into Platinum Images & immediately thought, "This is cute." It was Friday so I was prepared for there to be an enormous wait time. It was about 3:30pm. Maybe, I beat the after work crowd. The wait wasn't long. There were two people ahead of me. The lady who washed hair was pleasant. Karan the owner, styled my hair. The pricing was fair. There was no attitude. The shop was clean. It was great! Exactly what I asked for. I left feeling triumphant & cute. Try it.

I was never in doubt that my hair wasn't going to come out spectacular. And to top it all off she was extremely pleasant.
