Going to a new barber shop is a scary experience. After moving to the neighborhood 2 years ago and traveling into Queens for my regular guy of 5 years, I decided to try someone walking distance. Not enough reviews for barber shops on here, so I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. It's a clean place, well lit and no wait. It was only a Wednesday, but they take appointments. I'll update once I return on how timely they keep appointments on weekends.
I got a simple haircut and shave, but Chino did a very nice job, took his time, and asked for my feedback often to make sure I was happy with how it was coming out. At $15, I'm used to paying that price for 45 minutes of someone's time. I also gladly tip the rest of the $20 bill, which Chino was grateful for.
The only setback would be for someone who doesn't speak Spanish. They joked a ton, and if you didn't understand what they were saying, you just might think they were arguing. Latinos just have this way of joking that can be misunderstood. Overall, I feel it's a great place for a regular haircut. I'll surely return for Chino again. read more
