It was easy to find and they have a buzzer system to enter. It's a small space with a few chairs and a washing station. Opposite the chairs is a cushioned bench to wait/sit on. The space is a little bit "busy." Lots to look at. They have a TV which was playing Korean news. Wish I had my bestie to give instructions, but even with the language barrier, we were still able to communicate. The lady who cut my hair did a really good job in a fraction of the time if I were to go anywhere else! The cut came out nice and my hair finally feels refreshed! The cost isn't bad either. I will probably make this my new go-to hair salon for future cuts and styles. Happy snips!

My hair turned super puffy and frizzy after a haircut (Without the weight of my long hair !~ToT~). My friend told me about Freestyle Hair Salon is having a promotion on hair straightening!! And thanks for Paula's review!! I gave it a try after I read it. As an answer to my prayer, my hair got "tamed" and silky and it's so worth the price! I paid $106 including the tips...I feel I should have paid more tips!? The Korean owner, May, talks little English and it's more like a family Salon, but she works patiently and neatly completing a 3-4 hours procedure. The outcome is great! I would say it's soooo worth it! No need to wait until I get to Asia next time! Little heartfelt suggestion: the flat-irons and hair blower might be too hot sometimes for your ears and scalp...! You might want to tell her nicely if it happens.

Well, the ladies there are nice and friendly and this lady with straight bang did my hair and she was very skilled, I knew that I could trust her hands from the way she handled my humidity-sensitive and mostly frizzy, long hair. By 3 and a half hrs of my stay with them, she presented me with a beautiful straight hair I did not have for 6 yrs(my last japanese hair straigtening done in '06). I asked for shoulder length hair and mentioned I was going through postpartum hair loss and thought to mention that as that should effect the haircut? He didn't respond and started on the haircut. The only thing he said to me as i sat in the chair was "wow you have a lot of hair". Two minutes in after he started sectioning my hair and started cutting straight across on the bottom layer, he left for a good amount of time to collect payment from another customer. When he came back I mentioned that I would also like some layers, so it wasn't just a straight across cut. His response was that the length I requested would cause my hair to flip up on the back and how about some longer layers? I said sure. At this time, I keep my hair tied up anyways to prevent hair falling everywhere. The staff used a small skinny comb to get through my hair which I found insufficient. It was tugging on my tangled hair. After I mentioned I wanted some layers, he started giving me a haircut with his thinning shears. This continued for at least 95% of the haircut. I was really shocked. Not only that, he was using it in a very strange way. I have thick hair so I'm no stranger to hair dressers often using them to thin out my hair. He was cutting the bottom three inches and SLIDING down the rest of my hair. It was tugging and pulling my hair as the shears were stuffed with cut hairs. Not only did this result in broken ends but this stripped the ends of my hair. It's been two weeks at least and I'm still getting broken ends falling off. My hair is so unhealthy now. It seemed like he was annoyed because I felt the back of my hair and it was really thinned out! The sides of my hair were choppy and thick. It felt like a lawn mower ran across the back of my head. The hair dresser also sprayed a lot of water on my head, and didn't bother to blow dry my hair dry at least. I came in with dry hair. It was a rainy Saturday and I left like that. No styling product in my hair and didn't show me the back of my hair with a mirror. He asked me "how's the length?" I responded with "good." And that was the end of the haircut. I'm very disappointed in this hair salon as I frequented it before but seems like all the staff changed.

Unless it is constructive about my hairstyle at the moment, don't bring up the thin hair. PAYMENT There are tipping jars at the reception desk labeled with each stylist name so that you don't have to hand the tip directly. TL;DR Trendy Canto place. Quiet non-chatty, non-selling, no-pressure atmosphere. Everything is perfect if only the stylist didn't hit my pet peeve =P
