Especially the hair dresser with the bright pink hair (didn't get her name) who did a wonderful job with my 4 year old - both in haircut and in managing her and keeping her engaged! My 2 year old is a WRECK during haircuts and although she screams and fights, they still did a good job with her bangs. The 2nd time we went, we just popped in on a Saturday morning with no appointment and they were very accommodating. Again, the 2 ladies managing them were good and the other customers were even very kind about my shrieking 2 year old! I was stressed about it but they all made me feel ok. This is also a reasonably priced place. Price = age of your kid + $7! Much better than the "children's hair salons" which charge $25-$30 per kid. Perhaps Gemini could charge a little less for just cutting bangs, but since my kid was shrieking so much I didn't mind! I'll be going there next for my own haircut.

I called a couple of salons that were rated highly and not too expensive, asking for stylists who would be comfortable working with us both. The first couple of salons I called were rude and abruptly said they wouldn't be able or interested in doing cut for my Grandmother. I was kind of in shock the way some folks would turn away business like that. Luckily I called Gemini V and Linda, the proprietor of the salon, picked up the phone. She understood exactly what I was looking for - a somewhat old school beauty parlor that knew what older gals from Long Island are looking for in a haircut and could also give me stylish cut suitable for NYC life. Linda could not have been more accommodating and did a *great* job doing my Grandma's hair exactly as she likes it! She has trouble walking and helped her get about the salon while I was getting my hair done... and she's still raving about the cut she received. Alexis gave my hair a spunky, short and tousled cut that's cute and easy to style. It was a fantastic afternoon and we'll definitely be back :-)

The stylist does not cut layers well, so please go somewhere else if you want layers. Coloring is good they try to get it as accurate to your picture as possible. I'm ngl the only reason why I still come here is 1. Local business and 2. They're the only place nearby that does Japanese hair straightening and they do that beautifully. Mind you now there's 2 people working, 3 if you count the daughter who washes and blow dries hair. So there's always a wait but I mean it's up to you if that's ok. Over all I'd say it's worth for Japanese hair straightening. Otherwise go somewhere else.

Where do I start with this awful place I guess I will start from the beginning…read more I went online and I booked my appointment for a women haircut and it said it was 15$ so I thought that was a steal so I paid and booked it. Then I made sure to get there by 12 because my appointment was at 12 I got there at 11:55 and they confirmed I had a appointment I said yes and I paid 15$ online and I wanted to get a haircut and they said ok no problem and let me sit down. At 12:30 the one lady took me and washed my hair. Washing: no communication where I sit She sat me in a chair and said to me about a wash I said ok Then she washed my hair which hurt her nails were long and she was rough. Then she had me sit in the chair Haircut: The guy Alex ham came over I showed him the picture I wanted mind you my hair was to my collar bone area and I wanted a pixie cut he went on about how it was short very short so short after he complained about that he then cut my hair. While cutting my hair he was all over the place and talking to the other employee I just felt like he wasn't really paying attention. Once he was done he took the robe thing off and used the blow dryer to get the extra hair off but left a lot on my arms. He also cut it a bit shorter than I wanted on top but that isn't the end of the world. After I thought a 15$ haircut I gave him a 3$ tip and when I was walking out about to open the door he then said ma'am you didn't pay I said I did pay online he said how much I said 15$ and he said no for your services today it's 70$ before tax so he took the 15$ and deducted it and had me pay the 55$ extra and the tax It was horrible unprofessional and not clear at all and online it didn't even state details on it just a women's haircut is 15$ very misleading they need to be shut down. So either I get my money back or I will take the complaint further. Horrible service and place don't waste your money, they rip people off.
