Extremely disorganized with a lack of time management. They have no respect for people's time and just push delays with no answers.

They changed the start time of my bunion surgery to first thing in the morning but didn't tell me. I got a call saying to come in immediately and then they rushed me through. not a positive experience but rather rushed and it did not seem right. Be sure to check what time is check in and what time is your surgery, and expect for it to change randomly. read more

Well, it's been 8 months since my total right hip replacement at Oaks Medical center and all I can say is Dr. Tooma and the staff at Oaks medical, THANK YOU!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. All of you have completely changed my life and given me a second chance in life. The pain before surgery was a 10-year problem. Bone on bone and I was so depressed and hurting 24/7, so much pain to were putting on a happy face was getting hard, when I felt like killing anyone. Today (Feb 23, 2024) I can walk normal, no pain at all and I can do things now I haven't done in years. Every day I thank God for blessing me with such a great Dr. It's a miracle. Everybody who sees me now say "OMG!!! you look younger and look so happy." You are so right. I have a skip n my step now thankful to no longer have pain and I can walk normal, no walker, no cane, no wheelchair. Thank you so much. God bless you all. read more

The front office gave several different arrival times. After my time to arrive was changed to be there at 11 am, it was another two hours before I was called back to pre-op. Being frustrated and ridiculously hungry is not a good way to go into surgery. Although my procedure was short, my neck and shoulders were sore for days after, that has never happened in previous surgeries. My pre-op nurse and Physician were great. read more

I read the reviews before I came here about the waiting room being crowded and I didn't have that experience. The nurses were very nice and the place looked clean. I was very happy with my experience and would have a surgery there again. I like that it was not a big hospital yet the surgery room had everything you would need. read more

Terrible communication. They called me and said to arrive at 10:00 a.m. (voice message from Oaks Surgery Center). I arrived at 9:45 a.m. I had to ask what time my surgery was scheduled for, they couldn't tell me. Said that information would come from my doctor. At 11:25 a.m. I called my doctor's office to confirm my appointment. They, in turn, called Oaks Surgery Center to get any information. Doctor's office called me back to say my check in time was 11:00 a.m., not 10:00 a.m., surgery is scheduled for noon. Why couldn't the receptionist give me that information? Wasted time. Not coming back here again. read more

thanks so much for the great work everyone did for me, Dr Toomo is one of the best surgeon.

My little boy had to have a procedure done at this surgery center. It was a routine procedure, but as a mom I was terrified. They took great of him and even made him smile. My mind was at ease by the time they took him to the back, thanks to the great nurses. read more

From the moment I walked in everyone was so pleasant. Their staff are gems. Not one bad thing to say about my procedure there m.

I have been a patient in a few surgery centers in my life and none are better. Wonderful staff. Warm welcoming atmosphere. Very precise and professional. Top Mark's from me. Thank you Oaks! read more

I had my carpal tunnel surgery yesterday. I wanted to express my thanks to the outstanding staff at The Oaks Surgery Center. Knowledgeable, confident, and caring medical staff. I felt that they actually cared about me and my surgery. I know they are "doing there jobs", but it is great that they care enough to practice great beside manners. I'm sure I'll be having my left hand done next and I look forward to being under their care. Thank you to all the staff at The Oaks Surgery Center!! read more

I had carpel tunnel surgery here, and my mother has had quite a few procedures here as well. The staff is AMAZINGLY friendly and caring - by far the past part of the experience, and making it (by far) one of the best healthcare experiences of the facilities/doctors offices/whatever I've been to. The first day I was scheduled for surgery, the surgeon had a complication on the procedure in front of me and was running late. They gave me the option to wait or reschedule, and were very accommodating in all ways. I've said in many reviews that the true sign of a business (and person) is not how they handle the routine, but how they respond to the unexpected. And in this case, the staff responded VERY well to the unexpected! I chose to reschedule, and came back a week later. On the day of the surgery, I was remembered, and everyone was extremely friendly. The surgery proceeded on schedule this week. The anesthesiologist was a very kind man who explained the process well and did a good job of inspiring confidence. The surgeon, Dr. Tooma (who I'll post a separate review on) was phenomenal as well. Following the surgery, all of my questions were answered patiently. I also called the center twice with additional questions, and was able to reach a live person right away and get the answers I was seeking. I also received two calls and a nice letter in the mail from the Surgery center, all to check on me. Overall, the whole surgery and process went even than I could have hoped. Though this review is focused mainly on the staff (truly the most important part of healthcare), I'll also mention that the center is located in a nice, low-traffic neighborhood with good freeway access. It's kind of small, and I wish the preparation area could be a little more private - but the both the facility and waiting area are very clean and nice. Ultimately, we don't really get to "choose" where our insurance sends us for surgeries, so this review may not mean much to many people :p But if you DO have a surgery scheduled here, perhaps it can give you some assurance that you'll be in good hands! read more

My child recently had surgery here and they made it such an easy experience. The staff was helpful with all my questions. They were compassionate afterwards during recovery and called to check afterwards to be sure he was doing alright. read more

My mother had surgery today and most of the employees there did not treat her well at all. They were rushing to get her out the door and didn't wrap her hand properly. What a joke. A bunch of nursing quacks. read more

This surgery center sucks! They don't know how to schedule. I had a 3 hour surgery scheduled for 10:15 am. They called and changed the time to 3:15 pm, which means that I would have to go all day without eating. I canceled it. They lied to the doctors office, telling them for me to be there at 11:30 am and my surgery would be at 12:30 pm. At 1:30 pm I was still waiting. I told them to pull the IV and got the hell out of there. I do not recommend this surgery center. read more

Dr Andrew Thio is absolutely a horrible Dr. He was beyond rude!! Yelling at me and refusing to do my injections. I was beyond nervous and he turned it into an horrible experience. I didn't get to explain my allergies properly because he was to busy getting all upset. He said I wasn't to come back. I just stood there in shock because he was out of control. I don't recommend him to anyone!! read more

My Review of Oak Surgery Center Done by TGjillian 10/25/2021 I was put on the list of surgeries for Friday 1:00pm this was different to me because I had never in all my years"70" to be exact had a surgery in the middle of the day, well things change Huh?. I read a couple reviews on this Center and they most often complained about the waiting room crowds and more also on the dressing areas not big or large enough to get the gowns we all wear in to the OR ( surgery room ). I am going to reform this talk not, saying that their opinions are wrong just not what I saw and went through this last week myself. What I saw wasn't enough people to fill the chairs that were open the whole time I was in there. And they had told me when to be there 15 mins early I was and other than filling out the paper work they called me in before I was done. I was directed by some very professional ladies {and girls/Women under 30 } I am a lady too, but I feel like all females are girls up to 30 years old then we are Lady's just a note on my thoughts. Well after escorting me to a bed surrounded by curtains given a gown to put on I had more than enough room to drop the dress and put on that open to the back clown gown. Men had to have dreamed up this piece of clothing really ? I told the girl she had me lay down put the wires on and the needle in place all done with a real oneness of the whole affair I was part of. Anything I asked was told to me in plain English even as I was super nervous because of a bad experience 2 years before in a hospital I have been Gun Shy about surgery of any kind. Everyone from the front desk ladies to the back office and with the OR crowd was super people I cannot emphases the consideration of the staff being nothing more than the top of their jobs. My best Pick for 5 stars TGJillian read more

My husband had surgery here, and we have to say the staff was excellent. They were kind and friendly. We got here on time for his surgery. We were not big fans of the facility, however. It is small for the amount of patients that were there that day. The waiting room area is not large, and I would say quite full. It could have been cleaner. When you sit a few hours in there waiting, you see things, like dust build up on fake plants, old magazines, the ceiling tiles, etc. It needed a good cleaning and remodel. As for the pre-op room, it was small with many beds separated by curtains. The problem was, there was not enough room to change into a surgical gown as the curtain was close with the next bed next door. It seemed cramped. The post-op room was the same. Lots of beds in a small room with not enough changing room in each curtained area. There was a lot of noise with all the patients and family members in this room. Also, the garbage cans were full and not covered and full with surgical gowns, etc. You really don't want to be looking into the cans when recovering, especially if full. I think they need to get a bigger facility for the large number of patients in there each day. There should be enough space for each bed and patient to move around in and feel comfortable. We appreciated the staff from the front office to the nurses there that day. All in all, it was just an ok experience. read more

Had my tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy at this surgery center in April & let me tell you I was EXTREMELY happy with the way I was treated & taken care of! All of the staff were very caring & attentive! Especially the anesthesiologist not sure what his name was but he was amazing! Definitely took my pre surgery jitters away & made me feel 100% comfortable! As for cleanliness I didn't see anything dirty about it! 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND! read more

I had sinus surgery at this center and it went great. So 5 stars for my really nice surgeon and anesthesiologist. I am really disappointed in the front staff. When I arrived for surgery, no one was available. The office was closed. I kept calling my ENT doctor and the front office. I did not hear from anyone until 45 minutes later. The front Staff called me and said the surgery was moved for two hours later and I was never contacted. Mishap #1 and super inconvenient as I already struggled with caregiving for my 3 year old son. Next I get a call from a lady named Jennifer and call her back 3 days later. She cites that she sent my $500 bill to collections when in fact I already called the office to pay my bill but they were waiting on the insurance approval. She cites they sent a courtesy letter which was never received. I really do not appreciate the front staff's handling of patient billing and scheduling. Big improvements need to be made or this place could be great. read more

Love the doctors and nurses who work here but the billing department are morons. I set up a payment plan for my sons surgery bills. Got a confirmation of each monthly payment for the next 10 months. They billed me 2 months in a row then sent it off to collections. read more

The wait is pretty extensive, but the office staff is professional and nice. The office is in a good location and is very clean.

I am a very meticulous person and My first impression of this facility that it is in a nice area. The inside was clean, although small it was comfortable. I was in a wheelchair and the staff were very accommodating. The nursing staff were very attentive. I am happy that I was assigned here for my surgery and would happily recommend it to anyone. read more

Great place! Check in was easy and the the team was spot on. I did not have to wait long for my surgery. I was expedited along swiftly, efficiently and in a very friendly, accomodative manner. The nurse Deanna communicated very well and in a friendly way. Theresa prepped me skillfully and had good humor. The IV insertion was great! Dr. Russ was a great skilled character for anesthesia. Dr. Ben Roberts did a great job repairing my nasal septum and reducing my turbinates. I'd go here again! read more

I had surgery to remove my hip bursa sac. Every person I encountered from the front desk, to Danielle, the nurse that got me started, to Russ, the anesthesiologist, the other nurses during the procedure, Dr. Rouhe, and the nurse that was with me in post-op(I was out of it so I didn't catch her name!), all were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. I felt very well-taken care of. I even received a follow-up phone call today, which I assume is procedure, but again, a friendly interaction. Thank you for quality service and care. read more

I had surgery today I was late and for that I apologize anyways they decided to take me in . The nurse Gloria was extremely rude to me and I quote she said "I fucken hate when patients are late that's fucken rude" the anesthesiologist Clint told me "you put me three patients behind I am running late because of you" as he was rolling me to the operation room , they literally bullied me (Intentional infliction of emotional distress) I would have much rather been rescheduled then to be bullied by these two unprofessional individuals . I was already feeling extra scared because of surgery and for them to add more pressure it was unbelievable I was in tears shaking I was extremely terrified read more

Upon entry I thought I had walked into the DMV but that's where the similarity ended. Staff was excellent. Just excellent! I'd like to encourage the owners of the facility to invest in a cleaning service that does a more thorough job. Not a redecoration or facelift, just cleaned. That said, I am privileged to live in a place where I can have surgery and be home to rest in a short amount of time. I'm not being shot at or trying to run for cover. There was indoor plumbing, air conditioning and blankets etc. And did I mention the staff? Terrific people. When I focused my attention on what I had, I eventually lost sight of what was missing and all was well. read more

Had a surgery at this place 4/1/19. quite impress with staff nurses (Debbie, iv nurse) are very professional and accomodating, let you feel relax. called me back 2 days after surgery to do a follow up, asking how am I doing. The Anesthesiologist /Clint is great very informative about the anesthesia and its effect. And until you know it, surgery is over. Just heard voices calling my name, waking me up. And i said "i thought God/Angel is calling my nane (LOL)." Anyways surgery went smooth and welll. healing at progress at this time. Thank you Dr. Chin! Would recommend this place. read more

The office is clean; the front desk is ok. Main issue is with policy of having to stay on premises while person is having surgery. They previously stated that no one needed to stay. No where is it written that the escort has to stay on premises. It is not on display nor in their paperwork. Not good as I had to call someone else to come & pick her up as I had an apptmt to go to!!! They need to get their office in shape. NOT GOOD!!!!! read more
