For one thing, their prices are much higher then what you can find elsewhere for the same quality. He will lie to your face without hesitation if it benefits him. We have print proof files that we sent to Oakmead and Oakmead maliciously decided to delete these files and refused to enable us to make a backup. We used Oakmead printing four our wedding invitations. Tony was very responsive and accommodating throughout the process. While they didn't have appropriate stock for invitations, they directed us to a local store where we could pick out paper and envelopes. We printed an invite and detail card, along with individually addressed envelopes. For the envelopes, we sent them a template and a spreadsheet of recipient addresses. They printed us a sample for us to approve before following through with the full order. Once approved, everything was finished in less than 3 business days. I hate to rate them two stars, because the quality is very good consider it is digital printing. But I do doubt the price: 100 dollars for 250 business cards? I do feel rip off. And I don't get to take the leftover of the paper with me. I thought 100 dollars is For printing and the paper, but Tony told me he only charged me for printing. And why is it 40 dollars more than their standard price? He said it is for ordering the paper, printing the proof and correcting some colors for me. Isn't it the standard process by providing people the paper you want and printing proof? He did spent 5 minutes or so to change the grayscale for me after I seeing the proof. But does it really worth 40 dollars more? To be fair, it is not just about the money. It just doesn't feel fair and honest compare to the previous printers I worked with. Tony didn't tell me my paper is not included in the charge, and if I didn't ask, he probably won't give me another pack of paper(which I paid). for my information card. When I asked him to show me the price of the paper, he said it is not a smart approach to do so... And he also told me his reputation is not in a place to be ruined. I don't know him well, but I do know I got ripped off by him and I have been told I was stupid to ask him the price. I needed to have my business cards printed quickly for an event only a few days away. I called around and many print shops don't have their own equipment and need to send orders out to get printed. If I had the time to wait for an order to get sent out, I would just use Visaprint. But Oakmead Printing was able to get me my order the next day. They also helped me pick the best paper options for my cards and worked to keep the colors true (my file was in RGB and the printers use CMYK, for those of you that like to get technical). I am not going to lie--their price was over 2 times the price of ordering online, but it was very competitive for local business and I was willing to pay extra for the speed, convenience, and the excellent customer service! Oakmead was great! Tony did a great job in printing my wedding invitations! I was quite particular with the printing but he was patient and worked with me throughout the entire process. I really wanted a sturdy cardstock for the invites and it was very difficult finding a place that would print on a heavier card stock of 120lb paper or more. I received sample prints from several many places all over the bay area and Oakmead was the only place that could do awesome quality digital prints on heavy 130lb cardstock! On top of everything I was looking for, they were very fast and had the most cost effective prices. I had a great experience with them and would highly recommend using their services. I went with Oakmead b/c they had the best pricing after calling 5 other printers in that area. They were also able to work with my unusual request (the other printers didn't seem to understand my instructions.) I couldn't have asked for more perfect high quality (high gloss) photo thank you cards for my wedding. I spent about $1.45/card. I called in for a quote on a simple print job. Anthony promptly took care of me. I sent my file over email, and got a call in an hour or so with a quote. They then emailed me to confirm my print order. They are also pretty flexible on the delivery time, I got it on the same day (just 3 hours after I made the final confirmation on the order). I wish I didn't have to call to make orders, and could do everything online, but I was quite pleased with their responsiveness. Note that they will only take print jobs where the resolution is high enough. My first file was rejected, and I sent another higher resolution file which they accepted. The final product was very good, and the price is about 30% lower than FedEx or UPS. I would definitely use Oakmead again. read more

Discovered Oakmead Printing when looking for a local printer that could do 100 copies of an 8.5x11", 20-page+cover, full color, full bleed, saddle-stitched book in only 4 days. I had told my client it would be impossible, but Oakmead made it possible. When the owner, Tony Ngo, first said he could meet our ridiculous deadline, I was a little nervous about what quality to expect. My fears were needless. The finished product was great, and my client is really happy with it. The pricing was also reasonable and affordable. My overall impression is that Mr. Ngo is very capable on the technical side in addition to being a person of high integrity. I came here all the way from Berkeley to get eco friendly printing options for a prototype lip balm tube that is supposed to be all compostable, which began a week before Christmas. Today is the 21st of January and I've finally picked up my labels after set backs from both ends! I communicated mostly with Tony in person stayed to make sure I gave him everything he needed to print and with Aaron via email. Between the two that were helping me, in the end I was very unsatisfied with the labels. First off, I informed them I only need 15 labels to begin with. Not 30. They printed out 30 anyway. I asked them did I pay for 15 or 30 prints because I only need 15. They told me its relatively the same price. Me: ok? fine. Nbd. My focus is to see if the labels will fit the tube, that everything is legible and functional. They did a poor job or lack thereof to provide a label that would be functional for my lip balm tubes. The graphics were fine because I gave them what they needed. I asked how am I supposed to use these labels if I can't take the cap off?Tony knew this from the beginning. He failed to communicate with me that it would take more days maybe another week to get the labels to function the way I needed them to. I asked will it cost me more and how long will it take? He was so nervous because he knows I was unsatisfied and I couldn't wait another week for him to make my labels functional. I needed them that day. So I drove 50 minutes for unsatisfactory service and prints, paid more than the quantity initially requested and is left to finish them on my own because he was ill prepared to have them done the same day he knew I was going to pick up my order. There was no confirmation on whether prints are water based either. Ultimately, I don't recommend Oakmead printing for complex, but not so complex orders.. read more

I used Oakmead's services to print wedding programs and personalized menus with their digital offset printing. I worked with Tony and he was very easy to work with and responds quickly. They have a lot of options to choose from when printing. I was afraid when printing the personalized menus that I would have to type out each name and create a new file for it, but they have a script that could source off an excel sheet which saved me a lot of time an effort. I asked for a quote on Tuesday via email attaching photo ready art. I received am email reply asking for a sample. On Wednesday, I drove over during their business hours and it was closed. As instructed, I left a sample, with a copy of the email which included my contact information in Suite I. I emailed them to see if they had received the Sample. Friday I receive a phone call. THEY LOST THE SAMPLE!!! No offer to print a replacement, nothing. Just excuses, "someone must not like me"... "it was rolled up and the owner did not know what it was and threw it away."
