Ive used oak valley a few times because of my home warranty and I had great service with some of the guys that came out before i think jared was one of them but i had one really bad expe6rince with a technician named jeremy. So not bragging but just want to say this for the purposes of explaining the scope of experience we have with electronics and electrical equipment. My bro in law is a electrical engineer and i am an avionics technician for the air force , we had the fridge troubleshot pretty much. When jeremy got there I told him what we thought it was. He said he didnt have the tool to do that test at the time and said he would have to come back later with the tester he needed. I was fine with that but he also said that because I sprayed it down with water on the inside while i was cleaning it out waiting for him to come, he guessed that could have been reason why it wasnt working also. The fridge was dry already and the only reason he knew that was becuase I am an honest person and told him I sprayed it but I also told him that it was doing the same exact thing and not working before i rinsed it out. ( memorandum: I did not have power plugged in when rinsing and only rinsed the inside of the fridge and waited for it to dry out before plugng it back in.) So he left and i was expecting to make an apt for him to come back.Next thing I know my claim for my warranty was closed. I called oak valley and told the lady on the phone that nothing was fixed and they were going to come back out. She talked to Jeremy and said i would have to file another claim for them to come out and have to pay another deductible. I told her nothing was fixed and that was B.S. but she said sorry thats what the tech said. So i called my insurance company about what happened and they followed up only for jeremy to say it determined the fridge was broken becuase of neglect from the opinion of the the tech which was total bs because he never tested anything and was there less then 5 mins ,he went off that only on the basis that I told him i had rinsed out the inside. To make a long story a bit shorter ,my insurance company had a reputable company(sears appliances)come out to verify the "misuse or abuse determination"(assumption) by jeremy. They actually tested it and made a determination that it wasnt neglect and that it was a failed part not due to water damage and thats the difference between what a good technican does vs the latter. One tested the fridge with the right tools instead and fixing the problem vs making assumptions and almost screwing an honest person because of their unwillingness to help. I honestly didnt think he liked the fact that i pointed out what i thought was the bad part which it did end up to be and one other gripe i had was that he had a big van full of space for all sorts of tools but you didnt come with the tool necessary to troubleshoot the appliance you came out for??... but like i said besides that one tech ive had good experiences with them before ,that time just ruined it for me. read more

I therefore contacted American Home Shield who dispatched Oak Valley Appliance. David scheduled my appointment, and Jeremy, the technician came to my home of fix the problem. Jeremy was courteous and professional. He addressed the problem quickly. The technician phoned to let me know he was en route and arrived promptly. The service was exceptional. I called and made a appointment, told them my frig wasn't cooling, but the comp & fan were working. Tech showed up and we talked about the problem, I am a automotive tech myself and know HVAC, told him I think it's out of Freon. Now remember they are charging me $100.00 for the tech to show up and diagnose the problem. He looks it over, calls the shop and tells me it would be $800.00 if the comp is leaking, again he's not even sure where the leak is. But they can find the leak for another $300.00 He says if he knew the comp & fan were working, the more experienced tech would have come out as he can't locate leaks himself. We have used Oak Valley Appliance for almost all appliance- oven, dishwasher, range, washer & dryer - repairs over the last 16 years. They have always been courteous, competent and professional. The last repair we had done hit a number of snags, as each attempted repair did not fix the issue after many attempts. Oak Valley Appliance exceeded my expectations in their attempt to resolve the issue - I felt bad for the technician each time he had to give me the bad news that the new part still didn't fix the appliance - and even remedied the cost with a refund, which was not expected but appreciated. Had my dryer repaired a few months back (squealing), so the tech replaced the rollers and belt - at $238. Now it's doing the same thing again, so I called and requested they come back and fix it. They said that it would cost me a basic service call of $100, and the cost of any new parts needed, depending if they find any defected parts that they installed. What a sham!!! Had an issue with dryer this time. Guy came out and found a couple of issues. He had parts on truck. Then the washer had issues and he got those fixed. This guy knows his stuff. This is a long-overdue review and although I didn't actually use their services, I was very impressed with the help they gave me over the phone. I had a situation where the bottom freezer drawer on my refrigerator wouldn't close all the way. Of course, I had just been to the store and the freezer was full of food. I was very anxious to get someone to fix it right away. I called Oak Valley and he gave me a very simple fix that I had not considered. (So easy! A frozen dinner had fallen behind the drawer and all I had to do was pull the drawer as far out as I could, reach in and pull it out.) He could have scheduled a visit and earned money on this, but he was kind enough to take the time to help me over the phone. I will be using them in the future if/when one of my appliances needs servicing! Thank you! read more

*****Update***** So my dryer started making a noise again so Samsung sent out another company and the gentleman did not know what the issue was. The noise got worse so I called Samsung back and told them that I will only have Oak Valley come to my home and they were the only ones I trust. Mike and another gentleman came (super nice but I can't remember his name..SORRY!!) and were here maybe 30 minutes. They got right to work...found the problem immediately, even though the noise was not occurring when they were here (of course)...and they fixed my dryer right up. They not only explained everything to me but they explain it in a way the you can understand by giving you other examples. He then showed me the bad part and gave me some tips. The automated system called me to confirm the appointment...it also called me to let me know that my technicians were just finishing up another job and then would be on their way to my house so I knew approximately when they would be here. My initial appointment was 12pm-5pm and I got a call to let me know that a sooner appointment was available (10am-2pm). They were her just after 10am. I also have the recalled washer and after speaking with Mike I feel comfortable having the repair done. I will be calling Samsung to schedule that as well. Thank you so much for your professionalism and knowledge. It's so reassuring knowing that there is a trustworthy repair company doing everything they can to find and fix the issue. read more

Went through them with Fidelity National Home Warranty only because they were one of our only options at the time. After reading these reviews I knew that the work would be halfway done. They came for my Fridge not cooling, ice maker gets clogged with crushed ice, water dispenser does not dispense water, washer knob broken, dishwasher not working properly. The tech cane looked at my appliances and ordered some parts for the fridge, water dispenser and the knob for the washer. He hooked his computer up to my dishwasher and said everything is fine. He didn't even acknowledge my ice maker! Even though there is a sign posted "please do not use crushed ice as it clogs the machine." He notified Fidelity that my dishwasher was working just fine! He said the ice maker was working fine! He told my husband the dishwasher is not hooked up correctly and "showed him " how to hook it up correctly. He also said there was food stuck in the pump from the improper installation (which obviously sounds like metal no food sounds as loud and clinky at that sounded) I have improper installation coverage. If this was improperly installed the tech should have never left my home without installing it properly. Yet he did and advised my husband he has to hook it up himself. The very next day we tried to start the dishwasher. It would not turn on. That clinking noise came back louder than ever and the dishwasher would not start just made that noise. I tried to turn it off it would beep 3 times and turn back on. I opened the door the noise was still going. The only thing I could do is unplug it to stop that VERY VERY loud noise. A plumber came to my home and checked out the way it was installed. He told me that it was not installed incorrectly that the hose just had to be raised. He raised it to "code" and said there is no possible way that sound is food! They told me the motherboard must be bad. They called Fidelity for us and told Fidelity what they observed. He also requested a different appliance tech come to my house. A new tech came today, just like the plumber said it was the motherboard. The fact that this company goes to peoples houses gives them the wrong information and than totally disregards half of the work is beyond me! I am still waiting for them to come with the new parts for the other things as Fidelity said I could not cancel because they already paid them. Let's hope these repairs are not as bad as the initial time they came to my house. Update: I have been working with this company being very patient for the last few MONTHS!!! Yes MONTHS ON THE SAME ISSUES!!!! Supposedly Jeremy fixed my ice maker! Now it is worse off than it was before and he refuses to come fix it! He says nothing is wrong with my dryer but it keeps throwing stuff all over my clothes. He said someone is leaving candy in their pocket! What?!??Here is some background information we are a family of 5. We have been living together for 5 years. We have been washing the same clothes with the same detergent and the same people wash. Before We moved to this house with this dryer this did not happen. Jeremy comes back to my house maybe a 6th time. Yes a 6th time and we work Monday through Friday so you can imagine how inconvenient that is! Ok so I call tell the home warranty company what is going on. Guess what same guy comes again and says the same damn thing! So I call fidelity and tell them what was going on and call the appliance company as well. Jeremy calls me and I tell him that we have changed nothing the only thing that has changed is this dryer! Same people washing the same clothes with the same detergent and this has NEVER HAPPENED!!! So when I start getting frustrated with Jeremy on the phone he tells me that due to my "disrespectful attitude" he will call fidelity and tell them I want a different company to service my house. He refuses to fix the ice maker that he made worse in the first place! Oh yea and guess what he said about the ice maker. Jeremy says and I quote "I think this is what is wrong with your dryer, I will order the part come install it and see what happens!" Seriously?!? What kind of company are you running here? So he finally fixed my dishwasher but this was because I kept calling Fidelity! I am appalled whatever you do stay away from them!!! read more

Been dealing with an oven issue since Nov 2017. Had another company working with us for 2 months, but they threw their hands up nd gave up. We're going through Amer. Home Shield, and they sent Oak Valley Appliance. We've had the pleasure of working with Jeremy, who is not only the nicest guy ever, but completely thorough. He was at our home today and literally felt bad when he had to tell us that the mother board that he brought was defective from the supplier. After everything we've been through, he didn't want to be the one to say, "it's still not fixed". Normally I would be upset, but this company has only tried to help us. Jeremy is so good at what he does, and has explained everything he has done with our oven, even so that I understand. Jeremy is a huge asset to Oak Valley Appliance, and if his bosses are reading this, you should be very proud of your technicians if this is how all of your techs are to your customers. Definately a great company to call and very prompt. Their office is great to work with too and has been very understanding to our situation. Wish we had started with them first. I want to start by saying that Oak Valley Appliance is deserving of much more than a 5 star based on their professionalism and outstanding customer service. We purchased an LG Refrigerator from Best Buy in August of 2015 for $2800 and it was a piece of crap requiring several repairs within a couple months of the purchase. Ultimately after several letters to the better Business Bureau, LG had to replace the fridge. When we secured the replacement refrigerator at a cost of $3600 we also purchased the Geek Squad Protection for an additional $349 to avoid issues with LG's horrible customer service and poor warranty coverage and thank goodness we did because fast forward to October 2017, after having the new LG refrigerator for only 15 months it began to falter as well and Oak Valley Appliances was dispatched for repair. Our initial contact was with Stephanie at Oak Valley. She was extremely professional and very accommodating as she sensed our disappointment with the product, therefore she ensured that our service was expeditious. Enter Josh our service repairman who had been to our home to repair the first refrigerator before it was replaced. He came out this time on 3 separate occasions within a 3 week period and attempted to repair the refrigerator. Josh was amazing. He identified several faulty parts that he replaced, and tried to rectify systemic issues. He never became flustered and he remained extremely even when the LG troubleshooting technician was rude and demeaning while Josh was trying his best to help resolve the many issues. Ultimately after the three visits and several exhausting hours, Josh's efforts still did not correct the problem(s) so when he was to be dispatched to come out for a 4th time he spoke with the insurance company one final time and explained that the effort would be futile as the refrigerator could not be repaired. Due to Josh's assessment AIG, Best Buy's Geek Squad Insurance Company finally agreed to once again replace this incredibly faulty product. Thanks to Josh's patience and professionalism we will finally be able to get another replacement and it will NOT be an LG. They are horrible! Horrible! Horrible!!!! Jared came the first day and was able to fix our dryer without any new parts (he knew where there was a spare part already in the dryer) and diagnosed and ordered parts for our 10-year old washer. The parts came in the next day and Mike installed. Oak Valley saved me the cost of purchasing a new washer and dryer and got me going again. They were all professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I have been using this company since February 2016. Not only do the service guys do a great job but the gals in the office are pretty terrific as well. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner last year....boy was I surprised to see the owner out on a call working side by side with his guys. He is very patient and very hilarious to interact with. Great business! I contacted my warranty service company, on a Monday, regarding an issue I was having with my refrigerator and they assigned Oak Valley Appliance. I was told that the soonest someone could come out was on Thursday, which wasn't too big of a deal. Within a few hours of scheduling the appointment, I received a call from Oak Valley Appliance confirming my appointment and telling me they could come out the next day on Tuesday, if I had availability, rather than waiting until Thursday. Technician Jeremy showed up at my door on Tuesday, as scheduled. I explained to Jeremy the problem and he began his inspection. Jeremy was very thorough. He discovered the problem, explained it to me in simple terms and called to order the parts. He said he would be able to get the parts and have them installed by the end of the week. Within a day of Jeremy ordering the parts, on Wednesday, Oak Valley Appliance called to let me know they had received the parts and set up an appointment for installation. Thursday morning, as scheduled, Jeremy was back at my house to install the parts. Since the installation, of the new parts, I haven't had any issues. I can't say enough great things about this company. I definitely recommend them to anyone with appliance issues as they are prompt, courteous, professional and thorough! read more
