For several years Oak Valley Appliance has repaired my appliances. Every service call is quick and courteous. It is one of the few appliance companies I've used that tries to bring out the needed parts, if they can determine over the phone what could have gone wrong. Many appliance repair companies will order the part after the service call which can delay the repair. Edit: I forgot to add their trip charge is reasonable especially when you consider the cost of fuel and time it takes to make service calls. Highly recommend Oak Valley Appliance as they are the best! read more

They came and repaired my mom's oven very quickly. She was very stressed when it quit heating and the girl on the phone was extremely helpful and kind. Truly recommend. read more

Excellent customer service. Prompt, courteous and even when you're wrong, they treat you with respect.

I want to thank Oak Valley Appliance in Tehachapi for their excellent customer service. Even though we ultimately decided to repair our own washer, they went out of their way to help us. They provided clear, helpful instructions and even gave us the exact part numbers we needed to order so we could get the job done ourselves. That kind of support is rare and so appreciated! If I ever need an appliance repair service at my home, Oak Valley Appliance will be my first call. They've earned my trust and gratitude. read more

I called this company to troubleshoot my tenants broken dishwasher. They were prompt and polite. Gave me a full report on what was wrong w the dishwasher. I did not use them for repair as it was cheaper to just replace. I do recommend them and will use them again when I need an appliance repair company in Tehachapi. read more

While I can't say I'm surprised by the outcome of the reconsideration, I am disappointed--though not due to a lack of foresight. After reviewing several Yelp reviews about your company, a consistent pattern emerges: the convenient dismissal of claims as "not normal wear and tear." That kind of reputation, in itself, speaks volumes. Ironically, both your company and my home warranty provider suggested I seek a second opinion--as if I hadn't already done exactly that. The independent technician I consulted, prior to engaging the warranty claim, is actually where I first learned about the well-documented tendency for control panels and surfaces to warp after repeated exposure to high heat. That's not misuse--that's the nature of what a gas range does. It's also the very definition of wear and tear, which should be covered under any reasonable warranty policy. Unfortunately, when repairs are subcontracted to companies willing to manipulate assessments in order to avoid coverage--and when the warranty provider either can't or won't apply basic common sense--we end up exactly where we are now: with a failed system that lacks both transparency and integrity. ** 7/1 edit to respond to Mary C's content: I understand your position--and I also recognize a rehearsed, liability-proof statement when I see one. Claiming "independent and accurate reporting" while ignoring both context and documented industry norms around appliance aging isn't objectivity, it's avoidance. The core issue remains unaddressed: a gas range that has been used appropriately over time is expected to show wear from repeated high heat exposure. That is not abuse. That is not misuse. That is not a manufacturer defect. That is exactly what a warranty covering "normal wear and tear" is intended to support. The fact that your company consistently defaults to denial under the guise of "standards" speaks more to a business model than to technical accuracy. It's disappointing--but, again, not surprising. read more

The technician insulted me, the customer, lied about the balance owed, and did not repair my appliance.

Oak Valley Appliance has provided outstanding customer service and technical expertise several times for our home appliances. When our refrigerator had an issue they even handled the warranty claim. Once you place an order you can track the technician through their website. The tech always calls first to let you know they're on the way. Every one of the techs we've met has been polite and thorough making sure we understood the work to be undertaken. It's always a great experience with Oak Valley Appliance. read more

Like I said, the technician lie I have a big low capacity washing machine. I had another company come out they said that those washing machines were Samsung have reviews and that they the tension wears out, but I did not miss you or abuse it so again the technician lied. He said he didn't have time to wait for a load to go 29 minutes but he put six towels in so my washing machine will be fixed by another vendor who's more reliable than your company had he not lied to said that it was misuse and abuse, especially when I watch regular loads And it is a big capacity machine and I don't know who washes only six towels or if you have a big family, I can't afford to just watch six towels so if they had to say it over time or something, but from what I understand, that's the right intentions was gone in the first technician. Why didn't he give that diagnosis? Why didn't he check it which he didn't All he said was take a video if it doesn't so there's nothing left to discuss but thank you anyway. read more

Second time we have had Oak Valley Appliance for repair service. A few years ago they repaired our washing machine and we were beyond pleased. Today they repaired our gas oven. Took the technician only 15 minutes to diagnose and complete the repair. They are the best in the Antelope Valley (Tehachapi) and we will never accept any other contractor for appliance repair in the future!!! 10 STARS read more

After struggling to find a good appliance repair shop, a friend recommended Oak Valley. This has been the best customer service experience I've had in 10 years. I'm blown away by how fast, knowledgeable & honest they were. I had to reschedule last minute due to being injured after someone rear-ended my car. The woman I spoke to was more than happy to switch my appointment for me & she was incredibly compassionate. Our technician, Jeremy, was kind, & incredibly professional. We explained that the issue was intermittent. He was thorough, honest & made sure I was aware of all my options. They even had the part for our 12+ year old Kenmore Elite washing machine on hand. I fully expected the whole process to take a few weeks. He replaced our pump, & was in & out of our house within 30 minutes. If you're considering hiring some random repair guy....Just don't. Call Oak Valley instead. Whatever price they quote is well worth the quality of care you receive when working with this company. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Called for help in converting my gas dryer to run on propane. They were able to order the conversion kit for me right away and it arrived in a couple days. Scheduled appointment and Jared was able to knock it out and assess my dryer and make recommendations on needed maintenance and a pulley that needed to be replaced. Very professional and timely service...will recommend and use again for future appliance repair needs. Thank you! read more

Great store and staff I needed a part for my washing machine and they had it for a great price and it saved me from buying a new machine

Absolutely the best customer service. Jared has been to house multiple times to make appliance repairs, he is on-time, courteous, and always professional. He always goes that one extra step to make sure his repair is done right and truly top-notch work. Oak valley appliance is my first and only choice when a repair is needed. Oak Valley Appliance was recommended to us for our dryer repair. The companies communication skills excellent. The repair man on time and courteous. However the cost for the part $22, with the cost for labor and a $130 call out cost the total equaled $278 . Definitely not affordable. read more

Called to have the ice and water dispensers repaired on my moms refrigerator. Overall it was an average experience. The positives: -They travel to California City -They offer a senior discount -The technicians are following Covid guidelines -They have online status updates so you can view where the technician is currently working and you can get an idea of when he will arrive -They have automated calls to let you know when they are on the way -They will send you an invoice via email The negatives: -They did not check the ice dispenser on the first trip and had to come back to fix it -They did not apply the senior discount, it would not have been applied if we did not call twice to remind them read more

They received one star because they arrived when they said they would, and the guy actually replaced a small part on my dryer - that is it. They were referred to us by American Home Shield. Perhaps this isn't much of an incentive for them to work, which might explain why the tech that came didn't really want to make much of an effort on my washing machine. I called them for my washing machine (not spinning properly), Dishwasher (not washing properly), and Dryer (not warming up). The tech told me that my dishwasher water wasn't warm and that i needed to pre-warm the water through the kitchen faucet and to add more finishing liquid. Didn't seem like a great solution, but i left it alone. The dryer, he actually said the igniter was not working so he replaced that. I explained to him that even when it was working, that the dryer will no longer stop automatically like it's supposed to, he told me to clean the sensors inside of it (they're clean, wouldn't have called him out if there wasn't a problem). He didn't do anything else. He didn't test it by cycling some clothes, etc. I know this would have taken longer but how else is he supposed to see what's wrong with it? As for my biggest problem, my washer, he was the worst. He has me load a wash in, which i put plenty of clothes for him to see the machine gets stuck. He told me that it gets stuck because I put too much in it. I tried to explain to him that I've had this washer for a long time now and that only until recently has this become a problem. He basically told me to not put so many clothes in it. He didn't look inside, he didn't test it further, he didn't remove one screw to see what may be going on to ensure that my washer is working as it should. It is, after all a very big washer, originally capable of handling huge loads, that's why I bought it. I gave him, (and Oak Valley) the benefit of the doubt and I left everything as is. A couple weeks later, when I realized that the problem was ongoing, I reached out to them (they supposedly guarantee their work), only to be told by the tech that he was NOT going to come out again, that he had already diagnosed the machine, and that there's nothing he can do. Meanwhile, I have to wring out my clothes most times fresh out the washer, but I'm supposed to believe that there is nothing wrong with my machine. Stay away from Oak Valley, choose someone else. read more

My new refrigerator was received with a cooling problem. The first tech from another company didn't have the expertise needed to do a "sealed system" repair and said it required a specialized technician. Well I am happy to report that Oak Valley Appliance had just who I needed and his name is David. He fixed the problem and was very helpful in explaining to me details that I needed. Hillary was my initial contact at Oak Valley and she could not have been more helpful. Being a warranty repair, she and David knew it could be days to get parts (if needed) so David squeezed us in the next day of his already busy schedule. Thankfully, the fixed didn't require parts but did require David skill with this system.. Thank you Hillary, David and coworker Alex for you professional, can do attitude, your concern and the amazingly quick response to this inconvenient problem of mine. I was glad to put that ice chest away that I had to resort to!! I highly recommend Oak Valley Appliance! read more

We had another great experience with the crew at Oak Valley. Our stove had an ignition issue and our dishwasher quit draining. They sent Jared out again and he quickly diagnosed the two problems and got parts ordered. The parts arrived in about a week and Jared came back out yesterday. He arrived within the time window we were told and it took him about an hour to do the repairs. He was his usual friendly but efficient self and tactfully explained what we could do to help prevent similar issues in the future. Hilary in the office was the person who contacted us to set up the diagnostic visit and the repair visit and she was very friendly when she called. read more

I have a washer and dryer that need servicing. This place knows they have a monopoly in town and take advantage of it. $90 for a service call, and $40 extra for the second appliance. "It includes travel," she said. Well, I live a block away. It wouldn't be so bad if they counted the service/diagnostic towards the labor, but nope. So to fix an agitator ($70 approx) and a timer (super cheap apparently) I'm already looking at over $200. Going to just drive to Bakersfield and get a new washer dryer used for $250. And I really wanted to use this place since they are a locally owned business. read more

I had my double oven fail the weekend before Thanksgiving. Oak Valley got back to me right away and unfortunately they do not service the brand of oven I have. However, the staff at Oak Valley went above and beyond trying to help me find a solution to get it working including talking to their technicians to see if there were any repairs I could do. While I was not able to use Oak Valley this time, they will be my first call in the future. read more

Absolutely terrible service company. They lied to Fidelity Home Warranty Services regarding the repair of my microwave. They said the control panel clips were broken due to "misuse and abuse" so Fidelity denied my claim. I went ahead and had TWO separate appliance guys come out there and immediately tell me "this is normal wear and tear for these microwaves." Two completely independent companies told me that it's totally normal wear and tear, yet this company tells my home warranty it's due to abuse. What kind of joke is this? And BOO to Fidelity warranty for believing them! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. If you do get a home warranty protection service, have them call out another service company. Oak Valley Appliance service doesn't know what they are doing and takes the easy road out. I rarely ever leave negative reviews for anything, but this one was worth it. read more
