For several years Oak Valley Appliance has repaired my appliances. Every service call is quick and courteous. It is one of the few appliance companies I've used that tries to bring out the needed parts, if they can determine over the phone what could have gone wrong. Many appliance repair companies will order the part after the service call which can delay the repair. Edit: I forgot to add their trip charge is reasonable especially when you consider the cost of fuel and time it takes to make service calls. The technician insulted me, the customer, lied about the balance owed, and did not repair my appliance.

Like I said, the technician lie I have a big low capacity washing machine. I had another company come out they said that those washing machines were Samsung have reviews and that they the tension wears out, but I did not miss you or abuse it so again the technician lied. He said he didn't have time to wait for a load to go 29 minutes but he put six towels in so my washing machine will be fixed by another vendor who's more reliable than your company had he not lied to said that it was misuse and abuse, especially when I watch regular loads And it is a big capacity machine and I don't know who washes only six towels or if you have a big family, I can't afford to just watch six towels so if they had to say it over time or something, but from what I understand, that's the right intentions was gone in the first technician. Why didn't he give that diagnosis? Why didn't he check it which he didn't All he said was take a video if it doesn't so there's nothing left to discuss but thank you anyway. read more

After struggling to find a good appliance repair shop, a friend recommended Oak Valley. This has been the best customer service experience I've had in 10 years. I'm blown away by how fast, knowledgeable & honest they were. I had to reschedule last minute due to being injured after someone rear-ended my car. The woman I spoke to was more than happy to switch my appointment for me & she was incredibly compassionate. Our technician, Jeremy, was kind, & incredibly professional. We explained that the issue was intermittent. He was thorough, honest & made sure I was aware of all my options. They even had the part for our 12+ year old Kenmore Elite washing machine on hand. Called for help in converting my gas dryer to run on propane. They were able to order the conversion kit for me right away and it arrived in a couple days. My new refrigerator was received with a cooling problem. The first tech from another company didn't have the expertise needed to do a "sealed system" repair and said it required a specialized technician. Well I am happy to report that Oak Valley Appliance had just who I needed and his name is David. He fixed the problem and was very helpful in explaining to me details that I needed. Hillary was my initial contact at Oak Valley and she could not have been more helpful. Being a warranty repair, she and David knew it could be days to get parts (if needed) so David squeezed us in the next day of his already busy schedule. Thankfully, the fixed didn't require parts but did require David skill with this system.. We had another great experience with the crew at Oak Valley. Our stove had an ignition issue and our dishwasher quit draining. They sent Jared out again and he quickly diagnosed the two problems and got parts ordered. The parts arrived in about a week and Jared came back out yesterday. He arrived within the time window we were told and it took him about an hour to do the repairs. He was his usual friendly but efficient self and tactfully explained what we could do to help prevent similar issues in the future. Prompt and courteous, my appointment was scheduled same day. Arrived on time, my dryer is back on line.

They received one star because they arrived when they said they would, and the guy actually replaced a small part on my dryer - that is it. They were referred to us by American Home Shield. Perhaps this isn't much of an incentive for them to work, which might explain why the tech that came didn't really want to make much of an effort on my washing machine. I called them for my washing machine (not spinning properly), Dishwasher (not washing properly), and Dryer (not warming up). The tech told me that my dishwasher water wasn't warm and that i needed to pre-warm the water through the kitchen faucet and to add more finishing liquid. Didn't seem like a great solution, but i left it alone. The dryer, he actually said the igniter was not working so he replaced that. I explained to him that even when it was working, that the dryer will no longer stop automatically like it's supposed to, he told me to clean the sensors inside of it (they're clean, wouldn't have called him out if there wasn't a problem). He didn't do anything else. He didn't test it by cycling some clothes, etc. I know this would have taken longer but how else is he supposed to see what's wrong with it? As for my biggest problem, my washer, he was the worst. He has me load a wash in, which i put plenty of clothes for him to see the machine gets stuck. He told me that it gets stuck because I put too much in it. I tried to explain to him that I've had this washer for a long time now and that only until recently has this become a problem. He basically told me to not put so many clothes in it. He didn't look inside, he didn't test it further, he didn't remove one screw to see what may be going on to ensure that my washer is working as it should. It is, after all a very big washer, originally capable of handling huge loads, that's why I bought it. I gave him, (and Oak Valley) the benefit of the doubt and I left everything as is. A couple weeks later, when I realized that the problem was ongoing, I reached out to them (they supposedly guarantee their work), only to be told by the tech that he was NOT going to come out again, that he had already diagnosed the machine, and that there's nothing he can do. Meanwhile, I have to wring out my clothes most times fresh out the washer, but I'm supposed to believe that there is nothing wrong with my machine. Stay away from Oak Valley, choose someone else. read more

Had them come over to clean the glass on the oven doors ( remove the doors, take doors apart, clean glass) The did a fantastic job, the stove looks new!While they were there we had them looked at our refrigerator ice maker. They were able to get that repaired under warranty. They also serviced our refrigerator and washer for a low nominal price. I would not think twice to have them work on/ repair our appliances. I have a washer and dryer that need servicing. This place knows they have a monopoly in town and take advantage of it. $90 for a service call, and $40 extra for the second appliance. "It includes travel," she said. Well, I live a block away. It wouldn't be so bad if they counted the service/diagnostic towards the labor, but nope. So to fix an agitator ($70 approx) and a timer (super cheap apparently) I'm already looking at over $200. Going to just drive to Bakersfield and get a new washer dryer used for $250. And I really wanted to use this place since they are a locally owned business. read more

Absolutely terrible service company. They lied to Fidelity Home Warranty Services regarding the repair of my microwave. They said the control panel clips were broken due to "misuse and abuse" so Fidelity denied my claim. I went ahead and had TWO separate appliance guys come out there and immediately tell me "this is normal wear and tear for these microwaves." Two completely independent companies told me that it's totally normal wear and tear, yet this company tells my home warranty it's due to abuse. What kind of joke is this? And BOO to Fidelity warranty for believing them! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. If you do get a home warranty protection service, have them call out another service company. However, the staff at Oak Valley went above and beyond trying to help me find a solution to get it working including talking to their technicians to see if there were any repairs I could do.
