Had an emergent water heater issue and Goodwill was the only company out of the 20 I called that could sent someone out that night. Josiah showed up at 9:00pm and immediately got to work. Although he got the water heater lit, there was an issue. He assured me that he would return in the morning with the parts needed. 'Very professional and knowledgeable young technicians, got immediately to work and assessed the issue with my Rheem tankless water heater: Error Code 65 - "Faulty water flow solenoid". This has been the case for 2days; no hot water. They removed the unit's exterior housing, laid on hands (not sure what they did), went inside the house to check the digital readout monitor, and ran the hot water. To my astonishment, from that moment on, the unit performed as new! They bolted the housing back together, shook my hand and said... "no charge". Wow! Goodwill has come out a number of times to rentals we have way out in North Edwards, CA when not many other plumbers will. Not only will they come out in a fairly timely manner, but they can usually get the job done quickly. Last week, one of my tenants stopped up their toilet. Rico came out and quickly and easily had it fixed in just a blink of an eye. Even those tenants who complain about most workers didn't complain about Rico. They even said how professional he handled the situation. The office staff answers with cheerful voices and is helpful scheduling as quickly as possible, or patching me through to whoever worked on my problem, so I can be informed about exactly what is going on without actually being there. Beware of the negative reviews. The name should be "Badwill Plumbing". I spoke to "Ray" to follow up on an issue that was not apparent after they serviced a water leak. The leak was stopped, but the plumber likely caused another plumbing issue. A broken pvc pipe was left at the scene. When I called, "Ray" would not take responsibility for this newly discovered issue, but would charge for another service call. In fact, when I said that would not be an unfair resolution, he hung up on me. Clearly, the bad reviews are inline with their business ethics. P.S. we were having trouble with hot water. Called and they came out same day to check water heater. The young man who came was polite and was wearing a clean uniform. He looked at the water heater and said the pilot had gone out. He showed my husband how to fix the problem in case it happened again and made sure it was working. Said if it kept happening to call and they would replace the valve. He was there about 15min and there was no charge. Do not use this business. Owner extremely rude! Charged $190 to install a kitchen faucet. Used the wrong type of silicone to seal the sink which didn't leak below, before they came. I didn't ask for silicone seal, the plumber installing the faucet said it needed it not to leak. Looked like a child installed the silicone. Plumber was here 4 hours to install the faucet, then trying to fix the silicone mess. Now, here a third time to remove the wrong silicone, after spending several hours here yesterday. Came yesterday, unprepared without any silicone remover, then attempted peeling it off with wrong tools. Did not come today with correct silicone. Called the owner, extremely rude on the phone. States he is doing me a favor cleaning the silicone and I will have to get a sink installer to finish the job, after they removed the wrong silicone. Additionally, they tracked dirt on my floors every time they came. Update: They have now finished cleaning off the silicone. My stainless steel sink now has scratched all around where they scraped the silicone off. They must thrive on work done on new construction or flips as in cases like those they pretty much won't get a call back, as the owner is unknown. As a homeowner for over 30 years, the experience with them is one I won't forget. No itemized bills ("we'll get it to you", they didn't), billed for parts not used and work not done. Unprofessional, owner (Raymond) does not have a "goodwill" policy, he won't even call his customers back. We left over 10 messages, spoke with his minions, but no call back. We had to call another contractor and plumber to fix the mess Goodwill left us. Running pipes, broken stems, grease on the cleaned carpet and an inaccurate estimate that cost us to demolish part of a new shower to repair the damage. Do not recommend ! read more

Goodwill Plumbing was recommended by a friend. The guy who was recommended no longer works there. Someone else came out but quit looking for the slab leak and handed it off to someone else. He worked hard to find the leak. We discussed a price and the solution. He was to come back the next day, but didn't show up until after 2:00 pm after I made several phone calls. He rushed to get the job done, took short cuts so that the job looked unprofessional and a huge mess to clean up. He didn't do part of what he said he would. There are holes cut in walls in my closet, the bathroom, two bedrooms, and the garage. Now I need to pay someone to fix all of the drywall. He will be out to shorten the pipe and make it look more professional, but I was disappointed that a supervisor wouldn't come to see the job or even talk to me on the phone. read more

Called out for service on a rental property to fix a leak under a kitchen sink ...technician there less then 30 min charged $208.00 ($148.50 for service and $60 for faucet) for replacement of the faucet (which thinking it was not the problem) , stated that was the source of the leak, tenant called an hour later the leak was still present ... called Goodwill to have someone return cause problem was not fixed, I asked if there was gonna be another service $fee when I spoke to them ... he stated NO ... after technician returned to find the the actual problem of the actual leak he then charged me a service call of $99 saying he did not install my garbage disposal (cause that is where the problem was) so there for he has to charge me a service call... this is what I called you out for to begin with that you charged me $208 for and problem was NOT fixed!! It should be good practice to let home owner know what the expenses will be at tome of service to see if you would like to continue the process instead work was completed before any conversation took place regarding... Called pissed off and talked to owner and owner would not rectify problem of extra charge... only stated rudely do not use his service again and will not do work for any friends either ... I am a Construction Company and Rental Property Owner I would have never spoke to my customers in such a way to not try and rectify a situation. But I guess that is why I have been in business for over 30 yrs and is all word of mouth customers that support my lively hood... Can guarantee I will NOT use this company again! read more
