This is my favorite Canadian store (even if the designers are Korean). I discovered it in Edmonton initially, although its first store launched in Vancouver in 2010.
Here is what is so great about Oak + Fort:
1. It's edgy, innovative, and completely professional. That's right. You can wear everything here to work and not be totally bummed out that you have to spend money on work clothes. Everything I buy here gets compliments. Everything.
2. It's affordable and reasonable quality. Look it's not Louis Vuitton, but it's also not cheap like H&M and Zara, despite being cheap like H&M and Zara.
3. It's got a wicked Instagram that gives you tons of daily styling ideas and their staff are always full of ingenuity as well. When I visited this location last a sales associate told me my oversize jacket was "a relinquishing of the silhouette." Like am I shopping with effing Grace Coddington here? Amazing.
4. Frequent new stock, frequent sales, pop in whenever you'll always find something new, especially at this location as it gets less traffic than the Toronto Eaton's Centre location.
Go check it out and chat about cuts and geometrical jewelry with the staff. Walk down the street to Nadège Patisserie for some epic French pastry and coffee after :) read more
