It's relaxed but more restaurant than pub-like; in a good way. The service was very good, the staff friendly and prompt. But the best thing was the food. As long as you are happy to go beyond today's typical Australia pub food, and instead try some gourmet style traditional pub food. I had the slow cooked lamb shoulder with vegetables and light jus, while my partner went for the Mediterranean Chicken salad. Both were excellent, but the lamb was next level. Despite being well satisfied we could not resist the sticky date pudding. And we weee both happy we did not. Great experience all-round. My friend stated that it was the best seafood sauce he had tasted in a long time. The menu is basic but with some lovely country items like crumbed Camembert with cranberry sauce as an entrée. The wine selection was good with local wines included. With the prices being what you would expect to pay (The Entertainment Book provided a discount voucher). Little has changed though, except for the name, though they do have some great beers on tap, something that I definitely really quite like. This is actually a pretty quiet country pub, and a pretty nice one at that. There is a large outdoor area, and also a terrace area out the front.
