Did the ubiquitous Turtle Canyon 2 hour snorkel tour with them recently. I think we've been to Turtle Canyon about five times now on various boats. The turtles see us now and give us a head nod. Captain Krash is a cool dude and deckhand JJ was solid. But, what made the trip cool was the boat dog - Sushi. Quite a character. Anyway, good outfit. Smaller catamaran, but that meant fewer people. Which was great. We had about 20 peeps on our trip which is about half what you'd get on other boats. Did not feel crowded. You motor out, snorkel for about 1.5 hours and come back. You will see lots of fish and some turtles. Little murky when we went. They provide the gear, but you're free to bring your own. Floatie required at least for the first ten minutes, or until Capt. Krash deems you a good swimmer. They provide sodas, water and snacks after the swim. One thing that was kinda of a head tilter - to attract fish to the boat, Capt. Krash threw some cheese and salami slices overboard. Hey, I am def not a PETA, fur is murder, save the llamas type of cat, but tossing charcuterie to the reef fishes was a bit of a head scratcher. Give yourself ample time to make your boat trip time as parking can be challenging. Anyway, I would say overall, this experience was solid but a step below (not much) from some of the other boats we've tried. read more

Booked snorkeling last minute with my brother and the experience was PERFECT! Today we had the pleasure of meeting Crash the captain and his helpers Ana and Joe. Crash is hilarious and gets straight to the point. He also had his 2 beautiful dogs that joined us today, they are too adorable and super friendly! The ride was smooth and beautiful. You have somewhere to put your things and are accessible anytime you need anything. There are bathrooms in the back one for girls and other for boys. After heading out, Ana and Joe are just wonderful and patient with anyone needing help. They are very clear on instructions and stick with you in the water to help out at ANY time. They also help and call out turtles so you are sure to see some turtles while snorkeling. Crash also calls out turtles while he sits at the top of the boat. You are guaranteed to see some! You can go on and off the boat as you please while snorkeling or if you need a moment to rest. They provide yummy snacks and drinks along with water. This tour was a highlight of our trip. The boat is in ship shape. A new deck, clean, perfect. The staff is professional and qualified. The sights you'll see are memorable. When we were on the island we saw several boats that didn't compare. Captain "Crash" has been conducting these types of cruises for decades. Joe, the deck hand , was wonderful and interacted with the guests to make us feel great. Clean restroom facilities. BYOB-a plus. Delicious appetizers. The staff was very entertaining and informative about where to find the best spots for turtles. I think the only recommendation I would make is that there wasn't a sign for the company or the boat when we arrived (there is a pic on this page that does show a flag/sign for the boat, but I can't recall seeing such signage on the day of our excursion). I had to ask one of the local shops and we just barely made it in time for departure. Other than that, the crew was very friendly and attentive and entertaining. read more

It was a fun snorkel we saw some turtles and lots of fishes and Good crew! support them please they are raising funds for one of the dog.

Well organized, got text confirming reservation well ahead of it with link to directions and time of arrival. Once at the pier was greeted by Captain Crush who checked the reservation and collected footwear prior to boarding the catamaran. On board the catamaran were greeted by Anna and Carlos who introduced themselves Cptn Crush, and the rest of the crew the two lovely dogs. We were given the fins and snorkeling gear for those who needed it as you can use your own. We were briefed in the use of the equipment including the buoyancy vests later Carlos and Anna gave clear instructions on how to avoid interacting with protected wildlife like the green turtle and just see them while keeping a safe distance. Finally we entered the water and snorkeled chased by fish and saw 2 turtles on the bottom of the cleaning station one of those later surfaced and we could swam around. At the end of the tour our captain spotted dolphins and navigated close to the pod for a closer look. Overall the tour was worth it as a last minute addition to my schedule but I will recommend it to anyone interested in snorkeling the clear warm waters of Oahu and coming across their precious marine life. read more

The overall experience was just ok. It was 40 minutes of swimming around to see a handful of turtles. What really turned me off was the operator let a dog on board the ship to roam around at his leisure. Not only that but the dog grabbed part of my sandwich and was relentless in his bugging us. Believe me I like dogs but not on a excursion where there are 25 people on board a small boat. I talked to the captain (Kareem) and his only comment was a grunt like he could care less of my bringing it to their attention. Very very poor response. Come on Oahu Catamarans make the experience positive and get rid of the dog. read more

We went on both a sunset cruise and a turtle snorkeling cruise and were delighted with both. Oahu Catamaran takes fewer people so it is much more personalized. The sunset cruise had plenty of appetizers and it was BYOB and not rowdy. It was a beautiful evening and a great way to enjoy a gorgeous sunset. Carlos, the captain, and Shannon were very helpful, taking photos for us. On the turtle snorkel, Anna was added to the crew. We saw lots of turtles and fish. Plenty of time in the water to snorkel and Anna and Shannon were both in the water to make sure everyone stayed safe. We set sail for a leisurely return with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. My family and I used this catamaran and crew and it was such an amazing experience. The owner was extremely professional and communicative. Any questions we had or preferences he accommodated to and took care of immediately. The captain Crash was just as amazing. He allowed us to connect to the boat and play our own music, and shared such cool local things about the island that we did not know. The co-captain Carlos was so helpful and made sure we were all taken care of. He helped us with the snorkeling and made sure that while on the boat anything we needed was handled. The snorkeling was such an amazing experience. We saw so many turtles and fish and overall had such an amazing experience. Sushi was the final member of the crew and my family loved her! The morning of our snorkeling adventure, Kaptain Krash called to confirm our reservations. He kindly gave us directions to the pier. It was easy to find, and parking wasn't too difficult. Our snorkeling experience with Krash and Jordan was amazing! They were very helpful and informative on the equipment and what to expect out in the water. My kids (10yo and 14yo) had no issues with the equipment at all. We saw plenty of turtles, and Jordan was kind enough to take our GoPro and get footage of turtles deep under the water for us. We had a blast and will remember this forever! We had such a great time that we returned the next night for the sunset cruise. We even saw a rainbow! (The only one we saw that week!) What a lovely night to cruise the bay and then watch the fireworks after! How cool! Kids loved Sushi the dog on board! read more

Great experience, family-owned. Saw lots of turtles and SO many fish out on in the water with this trip (went this weekend, June 1). Good hands-on experience for solid swimmers, with safety measures for less-strong swimmers. Went with my family including my 9-year-old niece who is an experienced snorkeler; we all felt welcomed. We went in the morning (10 am), which I recommend, as it's less busy than in the afternoon, and the sun is less severe. I am pale-skinned and prone to burning, so I slathered on my reef-safe sunblock before arriving and used more of my supply during the ride out. When snorkeling I wore a long-sleeved cotton shirt over my swimsuit and short-sleeve rash guard; also wore a big sturdy surfing straw hat when not in the water (with neck cord to keep it securely on my head), and sunglasses. Result was no sunburn: yay! Next time I'll bring my prescription lens mask (If you want to rent one, do so separately elsewhere; my friend and I both have relatively strong glasses prescriptions (-4 to -5) and we both felt comfortable with regular masks this trip! That speaks to how many fish we saw up close, and how many turtles there were!) I feel really good about supporting this local small business, putting my money into Hawaiian commerce providing fulfilling experiences like this one. The staff share good fish knowledge (including which fish are invasive species), they know the sweet spots for seeing our fish and turtle friends, they exemplify safety on the boat and in the water, and I love that they keep their tour groups 50% or smaller of the legal allowances. read more

My wife and I loved the sunset cruise we took with Captain Krash and Oahu Catamarans! Highly recommend the sunset cruise as well as any other tours they run, like the snorkeling, as Krash and his helpers (including Sushi, the dog on board) made our experience wonderful! Captain Krash called us earlier in the day of our cruise to confirm we were coming and to recommend bringing a coat as it can get a bit cold in the evening. It was a great suggestion, and I recommend bringing a coat or jacket for sure if you're going out for the sunset. The crew was funny, helpful, and super knowledgeable. It made the entire experience so wonderful and we got to see some turtles, beautiful views of Diamond Head, great sunset pics, and great vacation memories overall. Also, soft drinks and snacks were provided. When we visit again, we will for sure be booking with O'ahu Catamarans (and hopefully Captain Krash!) again. read more
