A very kind security guard opened the front door for us and greeted us with a very big smile. Inside, the cafe is HUGE! it stretches out towards the back and has fun flyers and posters. Very clean and smells like coffee beans! I tried their rose gold latte and my fiancé asked for their cherry vanilla latte, both seasonal items. It was strong and tasted exactly as described. The workers here were kind and patient. Totally worth a stop for a good cup of coffee.

The place isn't large, but it was not very busy when we visited. They were able to seat our party of five quickly. We seemed to be in a weird zone of the restaurant because we had two servers coming around to check on us but the service was very good. Everyone was really happy with their meals. I ordered the cotton candy pancakes for my daughter, and though our ill-timed bathroom break led to some of the cotton candy being melted since it came out whilst we were gone, it still delighted upon our return to the table. I chose for my meal Holli's Hashbrown Casserole. It was so dang good. I love a good potato casserole and add brisket? Done. There's no dedicated parking at this restaurant, though there's street parking around and I think a parking lot.

My friend and I wandered in looking for some coffee and as other reviews note, there really isn't a menu in here? For a second, I couldn't tell if they even made lattes since the only signage noted espresso and drip coffee. My friend grabbed an 8 oz latte an I went with a 12 oz vanilla latte -- came out to $11 total so not too bad, particularly for the quality. It's just one person behind the counter making the drinks, but he displayed a great deal of care between the syrups, latte art, and sneaker decals on top. My drink was perfectly hot, not too sweet, and had a great flavor overall. I would absolutely go back for another latte and to grab some beans as well. This place is small, there's a VERY small amount of limited seating; definitely not a sit and sip your coffee for hours type of spot. Loved the sneakers displayed inside though. Overall, a great neighborhood spot - check it out if you're in the area!

It was my first time in portland but it gave me San Francisco vibes. I got me a little Pistachio Latte with oat and it was mid. I wish I had more time to research what is good here but thats ok. I mainly came for the vibes and it was cute. Not a place to really hang out at its more of a grab and go type of place which was sad because I had a lot of time to burn. I ended up getting some espresso beans and im hoping that its a good bag of coffee!

The plants are gorgeous, the area is nice to sit and relax or grab a quick breakfast or sandwich (they've got bagels and breakfast burritos - my partner got a breakfast sandwich on a croissant and said it was amazing!) we did try the place across the street - and no hate, but don't let their fancy name fool you... Java Man is the clear winner. open at 7:30am, you don't need to look anywhere else. I'd choose this place over the other bakery and over Il Soleito or whatever it's called - both other breakfast spots directly across the street. Java Man is the clear choice out of these 3, for sure. Matcha isn't a crazy sweet starbucks matcha either, it's earthy and amazing and authentic, but if you want sweet - they've got sweet cream cold foam / other flavors you can add. They make a great coffee, a great matcha, and their tea infusion bar could keep me hydrated all day. i'm going to miss this place when i leave..! don't skimp out on the pastry area either - they've got fresh fruit and fresh baked goodies that are also ALL excellent. so be patient, it's worth the wait for your drink.

As a guest at the Hoxton Hotel, I was happy to find this nice little coffee place off the hotel…read morelobby as the "real" (local independent artsy looking) local place around the corner I noted last night doesn't open until 8. Even though the 5 star rating was based on just one review I thought I would give it a try as the all of the drinks coming out while I was thinking about it looked pretty good. The basic 2-shot latte was pretty good. I'm a coffee snob so I save 5 star ratings for places with amazing coffee that really makes coffee a transcendent experience or places with pretty good espresso drinks at places with consistently good service, so I'd probably just give this place 4 1/2 stars on coffee alone. However the atmosphere for a little spot is reallly nice, with interesting books on the shelf on the back wall and real artwork by local artists on the wall. Plus the spot opens up into the lobby of the Hoxton Hotel, which of course has that trendy but classy Hoxton aesthetic. Also a plus, the place has ceramic mugs and cups, but as most folks are getting coffee on the way out, you will get your drink in a paper cup unless you ask. These other factors justify bumping it up to a full 5 stars (especially as Hotel coffee spots frequently suck). Note this is a one person operation, so some patience may be necessary. Hours: At the time of this writing, Yelp had this spot's hours conflated with a similarly named restaurant in the lobby. It's actually open for 7 to 12 every day.

Weird by a Mexican (-owned?) place! I don't know why this young woman had so much hate toward us, we kept wondering if it was because we speak Spanish inside the establishment, or because we hugged each other, or because we asked for pastries which they had none, or because I asked questions about getting a Mocha, which is not on the menu. The business is small inside, only 4 visitors at a time, maybe she got upset that we came in when there were 2 customers already in? It was rainy outside though! Initially, my wife and I were super excited and chatty (in Spanish, our native language) about the opportunity to support this business and waited patiently until it was our turn. We had lots of questions since the menu is vague and limited, compared to any other coffee shop, and there were no pastries on display. The attendant was short and using a rude tone when responding to my wife (As in: "But how do you want it?" in response to "I'd like a latte"). To top it off, she asked us to move to make space for another customer, when we had been already been patient with her and the prior customers, to read the menu, which she had already told me was unavailable. So weird! I didn't tip. We didn't even say "Thanks" upon leaving. Damn you Instagram. You make me drive looking for the promise of a coffee in a piece of bread from @kilodcofi and I end up with the service of @bkcoffeeshop !
