Great service, fair price, honest, and timely I ran across O'Toole's after another dryer vent cleaner failed to arrive on Saturday and failed to return my call. I called O'Toole's on Saturday morning and left a message, 15 minutes later, I received a returned call and was told the next available appointment was Monday morning at 8am. I scheduled, he arrived 10 minutes early. We discussed the issue, he completed the work within an hour and provided me with pre and post work photos. It's great to work with someone that cares about doing a job right. Thank you Sir! I would highly recommend read more

Let me make this easy for you. Just go ahead and book O'Toole's Chimney Sweep today. As of writing this review, he has a 4.9 star rating and I can see why. He was prompt, fairly priced, extremely knowledgable, and overall a very likable guy. Also he is very clean when he works. I have heard horror stories of other chimney sweeps that have left soot all over the house. Also, he didn't try and upsell me on anything and included ordinary maintenance in the cost of the sweep. I know for sure any big company would have tried to piecemeal the work so they could charge more. I cannot recommend O'Toole's Chimney Sweep enough! It's nice to see small companies doing good, honest, and ethical business while everyone else seems to be trying to extract every last penny out of you. read more

O'Tooles Chimney professional cleaned my chimney and dryer vent. Loved how clean and knowledgeable he was! Thank you

Dan came out in short notice to inspect my fireplaces and chimneys to determine usability and whether or not they needed to be cleaned or not. Let me start by saying thank you to Dan and his daughter Jessica who came and cleaned, inspected and showed me how to properly use my fireplace. I have been in my house for almost 10years and used my fireplace maybe 3 times. They were very professional and friendly. Showed up in masks and explained to me everything they would be doing and they were so reasonableon pricing. I couldn't be more pleased with their work and them as individuals. read more

Dan was the nicest man. There was zero mess left behind. He even fixed our hot air blower. He was kind to our dog and so professional. Can't say enough good things. read more

Dan did a fantastic job and gave us the very best chimney sweeping. We bought the house in April and weren't planning to use the fireplace because the suit was so thick and the creosote build up was at a dangerous level. Then the temperature dropped and our son wanted a fire. When Dan was through cleaning, the outline of the brick was back, the flu was clean and we were ready to Roast some chestnuts on an open fire! OK, maybe not, but we were ready to enjoy a good old-fashioned fire. Additionally, Dan straightened out the rack that holds the logs, repaired a broken piece of the stack and reattached the chimney cap. And he did it all at a very reasonable price. Plus, he's local. If you need a good Chimney Sweep, Dan's your man. Look no further! read more

I would HIGHLY recommend calling Dan if you're in need of having your chimney cleaned. He was able to come out the next day and not only did he clean my chimney, but he shared his knowledge depending on if I was going to be burning wood or duraflame logs. He adjusted the shoot so that it was easier to maneuver. He cleaned everything exactly how he found it too!! The price was very reasonable too. Thanks again Dan. I'll be saving your number for future use for sure!! read more

Excellent service- On time, careful, clean and very pleasant! I have used several competitors in the 34 years in my home. This was by far the best. Reasonable price and didn't try to up sell on unnecessary services. Will definitely call them again! Thank you! read more

This is our 4th time utilizing O'tooles and the piece of mind that comes with his services is priceless. He is professional on time always preps his work area, gets to business and explains what he sees . Our home was built in 1955 and Dan has monitored our fireplace and has had to caulk explaining that for its age it shows normal wear and suggests we divert heater vent to avoid stoking fire when heater running. He is very price competitive and cleans up and thanks us for our business, wishes us a pleasant week. His work is worth much more than he charges as I said peace of mind is worth every penny. Our neighbor once had a chimney fire and what they described we do not want to risk. Thank you Dan as we love our evening fires as any empty nester couple should. read more

I could not be more disappointed in my experience with this gentleman. He showed up to the appointment time that we had scheduled 2 weeks out, told me he knocked on the door once, did not ring the doorbell, did not call me to see if we were home, then left, leaving behind the card with the image below with his phone number scratched out. Rather than attempt to reconcile the issue, he told me he "doesn't have time for people who waste his time" and hung up on me on the phone twice without giving me an opportunity to speak. Not sure what has changed since the other reviews were written, but Dan O'toole is not a kind person to work with. read more

Dan is amazing!!!! So honest, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his job. We had a horrible experience with Mikes chimney cleaning last year. We had only had this house for a year and when they came out to do our cleaning they basically told us that we needed a whole build out and it was thousands of dollars which made no sense. I got a second opinion which it all turned out to be a lie come to find out they work on commission so their scam made sense to me now. I couldn't be happier with O'Tooles, especially Dan who was our technician. Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

We had a cat that somehow got trapped inside the chimney area of our triplex. I called animal control and pest controls and NO ONE was willing to help. Finally decided to call a chimney repair place and I'm so happy I found this place! Dan came out and helped us get the cat out. In 95 degree weather. Poor guy. He was the only one willing to come out at help. The price was not bad at all! It was a happy ending because the cat was in there for 2 nights and 3 days and got out alive!! read more

Excellent!!! I highly recommend O'Tooles.. We Just had our chimney done this weekend and they did an amazing job even went over the the chimney damper and making sure we close it when not using the fireplace, They even showed ways to remind us when it's closed. This company is amazing!! Very knowledgeable and trustworthy on what Dan does for your chimney. Would highly recommend his service!!

I needed to have my chimney cleaned and my damper replaced as the handle had broken so I assumed I needed a new one. Mr. O'Toole, arrived on time and advised me that he would look at the damper and see if it was fixable. Since he carried spare parts. First of all he was courteous, on time and very neat and clean, he laid out a tarp repaired all the cracks in the fireplace, cleaned the fireplace and fixed the damper by adding a new handle. This saved me hundreds of dollars on a new one. He advised me that yes a roof top damper is energy efficient but the damper he fixed is still in working order and would last for years but he would be more than happy to replace with a roof top damper when we are ready, wow what an honest man someone else might have said oh no you need to replace it it's beyond repair just to make a sale. So let's check off everything: 1. On time 2. Professional 3. Courteous 4. Clean which when cleaning a fireplace is no small feat. 5. No over-sell to unnecessary additional repairs 6. Honesty in what was needed and what was not Wow what a testimony to his business. I would trust O'Toole fireplace for all my fireplace needs and highly recommend him and his business to anyone. This is a business who stands behind their work and who customer service still means something especially in this day and age where big talkers with the gift of gab have a lot to say but can't back up their work or product. read more

I called for a quote for my chimney to be cleaned and was called back same day. I am so happy to have found Dan to come out and do a cleaning of my chimney. I was worried that the price would be high but he was the lowest quote I received and could come out the quickest! He was prompt and professional. He came highly recommended when asking on social media for referrals and now I see why! He was friendly and got the job done quickly. The house was left even cleaner than when he arrived! Happy to say the qupte was even HIGHER than what he ended up charging me and I was happy with the original quote. Excellent work, very detailed, complete cleaning and review of our chimmeny and insert.

There were only two chimney sweep companies listed on Yelp in Stockton and both had good reviews. I called both and O'Tooles had the cheaper price for an inspection and cleaning. Owner Dan was able to come out the very same day. After checking my chimney from below and up on the roof he said all looks good and it didn't need cleaning so he didn't charge me! It was still time out of his day and effort but that's how you know you're dealing with an ethical businessman. He identified a potential problem with smoke coming back into the house and offered a solution but he didn't push it on us. He said if it happens after our first fire to give him a call and he'd come out and resolve it. If we ever need a chimney service in the future, O'Tooles will be our first call. read more
