I could not be more disappointed in my experience with this gentleman. He showed up to the appointment time that we had scheduled 2 weeks out, told me he knocked on the door once, did not ring the doorbell, did not call me to see if we were home, then left, leaving behind the card with the image below with his phone number scratched out. Rather than attempt to reconcile the issue, he told me he "doesn't have time for people who waste his time" and hung up on me on the phone twice without giving me an opportunity to speak. I needed to have my chimney cleaned and my damper replaced as the handle had broken so I assumed I needed a new one. Mr. O'Toole, arrived on time and advised me that he would look at the damper and see if it was fixable. Since he carried spare parts. First of all he was courteous, on time and very neat and clean, he laid out a tarp repaired all the cracks in the fireplace, cleaned the fireplace and fixed the damper by adding a new handle. This saved me hundreds of dollars on a new one. He advised me that yes a roof top damper is energy efficient but the damper he fixed is still in working order and would last for years but he would be more than happy to replace with a roof top damper when we are ready, wow what an honest man someone else might have said oh no you need to replace it it's beyond repair just to make a sale. Owner Dan was able to come out the very same day. After checking my chimney from below and up on the roof he said all looks good and it didn't need cleaning so he didn't charge me! It was still time out of his day and effort but that's how you know you're dealing with an ethical businessman. He identified a potential problem with smoke coming back into the house and offered a solution but he didn't push it on us.
