I then went to the Totalfireplace store in Lodi to see an actual floor model, and another employee (not Bea) took the time/trouble to set up a smaller version of what I wanted, the larger one not being in their available stock. I ordered the model that I wanted, put down a deposit, and was told that it would likely be several months before the shipping backlog would resolve and delivery would become possible. A few days ago, now late January, my wife and I had business in Lodi so I took her by the store to show her what I had picked out. Bea, who is a grand-daughter of the owner, was there that day and remembered sending me information severay months earlier. We talked about my order as I showed Clair the model that I had chosen. Bea said that she had not yet heard about a delivery date, but said that she would check for us. Yesterday I received an email from Bea advising that the shipment had arrived but had not yet been delivered to their store, so it would likely be available soon. Genuinely nice people who went out of their way to do it right. I wish all businesses were so accomodating.

Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. We had already decided on hours diring a prior phone call. The text included a photo of Eli (love that!). Eli explained everything and had material samples that I could examine. Eli explained that the doors are custom made to my specifications and that Den Defenders handles everything, from estimates to the manufacture to the installation. We decided on a price (pretty high but, believe me, worth it!). The delivery date was in 2.t weeks. Today, 2.5 weeks later, with the date and time negotiated in a prior phone call, I received a text telling me that Juan would be my installer and giving me his photo (did I mention how much I like this policy?).
