Garlic bread, after a few bites
    Bob K.

We picked up Blondie at SFO, and looked for a nearby Italian place that included pizza options, in case they wanted one. O Sole Mio was 5 minutes away, perfect. It's a small place, in the midst of mostly Asian shops and restaurants. The decor was very cute, with the classic feel of checked tablecloths and old music playing. There's a working jukebox that we used for some Tony Bennett. Out waitress was Antonia, extremely perky and friendly. She brought us very hot bread quickly and took our orders. There was no shortage of options. I had clams over linguine with white sauce, The Wife had eggplant parmigiana, and Blondie had pesto gnocchi. I also had two glasses of house reds, with four varieties available! The food was fine, not great. The white sauce needed significantly more seasoning and/or garlic, and the parm was the same texture throughout, a bit mushy. The caprese salad was good, and Blondie liked their garlic bread, which was cheesy (not my preference). The two of us ordered cannoli, which had small shells that were two thick, and the interior wasn't particularly sweet. I also need to remember to ask about cherries. I don't care for maraschinos, but fortunately Blondie was there to eat them all. Not a bad experience by any means, but more attention to flavors is needed.

Italian in San Francisco, O Sole Mio is your spot! Located south of the city in the Millbrae area, O' Sole Mio is a small intimate Italian diner with fresh flavors. Surrounded by a multitude of Asian establishments, O' Sole Mio offers down home Italian meals and an ambiance that very relaxed. While visiting for in the area on a work-trip, my team did dinner. Our server was amazing recommending favorites, breaking down the menu and welcoming us. In a mood for a lighter fair I went with the Linguini Shrimp & Salmon. The dish itself was filling, however flavors were a little bland. A table appetizer of garlic bread was ordered, the freshness was off the charts!

Shout out to Patrick's service, and the general staff's effort to accommodate our party of 5 without reservation on a Friday night. Gives the old school restaurant vibes and it's been here for awhile. Food was good (not amazing but good), menu not overwhelming with a million options, pizza for kids, pasta and entrees, easy. Had the lasagna and per Patrick's assurance, it was good. They were able to accommodate a vodka penne for my sister. Fun with the jukebox. The food is really 3 stars but friendly service and quick accommodations give it that extra star. Would come back!

Best date night spot! Such cozy vibes - perfect to share a bottle of Chianti and eat (multiple) loaves of fresh sourdough. The pasta dishes are incredible and the mixed green salad with house made italian dressing is a must! Can't wait to come back here with my fiance for decades!

Came here for a birthday celebration. It was a lovely restaurant with old school juke boxes on the walls, gingham tablecloths, and vine decor everywhere. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food depended on what you ordered. The lasagna was some of the best I have ever had, as was the tiramisu which was very light and airy and delectable. The fettuccine Alfredo was pretty basic and a little boring but the chicken was fantastic and flavorful. It was a really fun restaurant and proved plenty of space and time for our group! Very friendly restaurant with good food.

Spacious restaurant with a large selection of food options, there is something for everyone. Baby friendly too, we were able to park our stroller next to our table and they also have a diaper changing station in the bathroom. The pizza was a little undercooked. It could use more sauce since the dough is extra dense. Delicious lasagna, the staff all seem to rave about this dish. It's definitely a good option if you love lasagna. So saucey and perfect to use up the sauces with their complimentary white bread. Calamari were well seasoned and the batter is airy and crispy. The bruschetta was ok, heavy handed with the balsamic.

It seemed quite busy for a Wednesday night since it took them 5 minutes before acknowledging us at the door. The first staff finally came to ask us if we were dining in. So we said we were helped when another asked us again. However the first staff never came back. Finally a third staff seated us. When asking the third staff if the spaghetti was enough to share, he couldn't answer us and asked a fourth staff to come help us. The fourth staff bluntly said "no", when I asked if the portion was enough for two. (It was). The service and attitude felt blunt. We started with complimentary bread and it was toasted and warm with side of butter. We ordered the fried calamari and it was good, enough to share between 2 or 3 people. The spaghetti with mushroom sauce was okay and enough to share between 2 people if you order other items. However we had to pay extra to add meatballs. The O' Sole Mio pizza crust was thick and the bottom not very crispy. I don't think they are known for pizza. They did pack the leftovers for us, something I don't see often at restaurants, so a positive note on that. Overall I've passed by this place many times over the years and finally tried it. If I were to come back I would give other items a try and the ones we did a pass.

Cozy Italian restaurant and friendly staff. Unfortunately some of the items ordered were bland and a bit dry. Appetizers: calamari and bruschetta. Calamari was a bit fishy but it was not bad. The bruschetta however had to be my favorite out of everything we ordered. Very flavorful and just the right amount of tomatoes. Entrees: Lasagna: staff mentioned this was one of the best items on the menu. It did not disappoint. Chicken parm: it was bland, could use more seasoning. NY Steak: it was good but a bit too charred on the outside. Penne with sausage and peppers: tomato sauce was bland. Could also use more spices. Pizzas: we ordered a custom pie with mushroom and sun dried tomatoes. It was very disappointing and bland. No sauce and very little toppings. We also ordered a large pie: half Hawaiian and half margherita pizza: again very little toppings and also very bland. Would be nice if they made it saucier. Dessert: the limoncello cake sounded good so we got that complimentary as part of the Yelp check-in. It was not bad.

We came here specifically for its proximity to SFO for our late arrivals, it could accommodate our group of 10 and there was something for everyone on the menu, including kids. Our server was so friendly and helpful, especially with recommendations. Our party ordered fried calamari, NY steak, veal cutlet, zuppa di mare, fettucini dishes, ravioli and assorted desserts to fill our empty bellys. Everything was delicious from start to finish. The decor was very old school Italian--reminded me a lot of restaurants in North Beach--the gingham tablecloths (albeit vinyl), the old school framed photos and even the tabletop juke box. It had a great vibe. This is a wonderful family restaurant and I definitely return.

We went here for dinner at the recommendation of Faith at the hotel we were staying at! The parking nearby is free, so it was no problem finding one in the area. We ordered: - Chicken Piccata - Lobster Linguini - Rack of Lamb Complimentary bread is provided along with fresh water. We also ordered caprese salad to go. Overall, the service was great. The servers are very kind and hospitable. They will refill your water if they notice it is getting low or empty. The food selections we had were positive. The vegetables are especially delicious. The chicken piccatta was nicely flavored. The lamb was cooked well. I can't speak much on the linguini, but the lobster pieces were good. Limoncello was also a nice selection for those wanting dessert.

Fabulous restaurant. Wish I had known about this before! We had party of 6 and everyone loved their meals...baked ziti, pasta fiocchi (so yum), chicken parmigiana, filet of sole, eggplant parm and steak. Service prompt and impeccable! Great old school Italian ambience and it was fun to look at all the memorabilia. Desserts were good too, had pana cotta, tiramisu, cannoli

Ambience.- the layout is fine but the door opening up into the kitchen seems like it might be cool, but it just blast the restaurant with cold air and that means they're exposed exposition kitchen is getting blasted with the exterior elements, it's not inviting despite the cool exterior, on the night that I went you had five employees standing around doing nothing waiting for an order with very little hospitality. No music, and interior design should have led to a great retro design and feel but instead, it just felt outdated. They could easily fix that though. 2. Hospital- some. Barely a whisper. Was it service? Sure but nowadays that's not enough. 3. Crust- not great. not a lot of complexity of flavor despite the good crime structure in blisters on the crust showing that at least they're doing something to age it. 4. Flavor- there was so much cheese on this that I couldn't taste the sauce. The problem was the cheese didn't seem like it was good quality. It was definitely not grande or Saputo. I watched him make it and they had no portion standards in place. And the whole raw sausage thing. I guess? Seems dangerous. Pizzas cook at 550° for eight minutes with that style, give or take. It's not impossible for that me to get to 165 but you definitely don't want the raw meats piled up above the portion line in the containers which there were. That means cold air from the cooler. All their vegetables and meats were piled way above. It's a move guys make when they consolidate one container from another, which isn't safe practice either. Final verdict- if it hits home, I get it, but if you're looking for a elite Pizza, this is not the place and if you're looking for an elite experience, this is definitely not the place. I was left with the impression of what could be as opposed to what it is. I am available for consulting if they really are interested in fixing your stuff. Greatness is around the corner.

When I say we were excited to hear Local Kitchens (LK) was partnering with Square Pie Guys (SPG), it would be an understatement. SPG has long been on our list of places we want to try due to its delicious presence on social media, and the fact that it's locally grown. PARKING: This is located within the LK location in the Bayhill Shopping Center in San Bruno. There are a bunch of other businesses in the center such as Starbucks, Mollie Stone's, and CVS, so there is plenty of free parking. There is a little side lot that seems to be dedicated mostly to LK, based on its proximity. A few of the spaces are labeled as specifically for LK customers and pick up orders. ORDERING: There are two ways to order your food at LK. In person at the kiosk, or on the app. I definitely recommend using the app, as you're more casually able to browse the menu from the comfort of your car or home. The SPG pizzas take particularly long to cook due to its thiccness, so I especially recommend ordering ahead when indulging here. Once inside, there is a large screen that shows your name and the estimated time of completion. Ordering through the app also allows you to collect points to use for rewards such as $$ off future purchases! NOTE: If you order ahead and get there a bit earlier than the estimated time, go up and chat with the friendly LK staff. They'll check on your order, and oftentimes it's ready before the original time! FOOD: They have four (4) pizza options to choose from at this location: The 6x8, The Big Von, Mush-o-Roni, and Regular Square. They range from $21-$26 depending on which one you get. Our favorite is The 6x8. It has "red sauce, and 48 pepperonis", classically delicious. They use the smaller pepperonis that curl up when they cook, which is the best. The Big Von was another tasty one, though pretty different. It has white sauce instead of red, still has pepperoni, but also adds Italian sausage and Mike's hot honey. The Regular Square is more of a classic cheese, and the Mush-o-Roni has red sauce, mushrooms, tiny pepperonis, Mike's hot honey, parsley, and grana cheese! All of their pizzas are THICC, and best of all, they have a delicious crispy cheese skirt that covers the entire perimeter of the pie. They also have Buffalo wings on the menu (6 for $15). We've ordered these a few times and would say they're solid. The buffalo sauce is flavorful and it comes with carrot sticks and a side of ranch. NOTE: I will say, the ranch is unfortunately not my favorite. It's not quite as thick as I'd prefer, and it has a heavy taste of dill that overpowers everything else. I loove ranch, but for $1/ea I will order it sparingly, if at all. They also have sides of their signature sauce, which is more of an aioli, and also sides of Mike's hot honey. TIP: You can also order sides of sauces from other LK partners, so have fun with it! OVERALL: This pizza smacks! I love the thiccer style, and the cheese skirt takes it to the next level. They cut them into four (4) slices, and they're big enough that we could either stuff ourselves with two, or save them for the next day and have a second meal. It makes me want to make the trek out to one of their actual restaurants to try some different options! Shoutout to all of the hardworking staff at LK. They're dealing with a lot of orders from various platforms, and the chefs are expertly creating dishes from over a half dozen different restaurants. All the staff I've dealt with here have been great, and I've specifically had lots of positive and helpful interactions with Brianne. Thanks again, I'm already craving my next pizza!! The two pizzas were ready after about 20 minutes of ordering. I ordered the 6x8 and the Big Von. Both had the crunchy and fresh toasted cheese sides and soft/buttery tasting crust. The cheese was oozing and toppings were generous. Ingredients were fresh. Did have to heat up the pizza when I got home to get the full effect. 2 pieces really hit the spot. Did not taste any Mikes Hot Honey on the Big Von, although the white sauce was really flavorful. For the sauces ranch was a hit, but the SPG sauce tasted too much like a mustard and relish with thousand island - maybe better for a burger or chicken strips than pizza. Compared to the OG locations, it was pretty much the same although the crunchy sides felt like a little less cheese. Would definitely go back if craving Square Pie Guys!

I got the pepperoni and bacon. Guys these are actually pretty good, especially if you're not a fan of pizza sauce. The bread part has a good amount of chew. I can see how having some dipping sauce would really make this pop. Both bacon and pepperoni were pretty tasty. I think for $4, this is a bargain for kids to share with a bestie.
