So I decided to pop over to Harrahs on New Years Day to have a few beers at the racing bar and bet some races. Sadly, I was NOT surprised that the bar was CLOSED ON NEW YEARS DAY. This is what I have come to expect from Harrahs Philly management. Helluva way to run a business. read more

Pennsylvania casinos don't compare to other ones out there, but Harrah's Philadelphia is one of the better ones! It feels larger than other local casinos, so definitely feels less crowded. There are so many slot machines and table games. The food selection is pretty decent! If you are in Philadelphia, they have a free shuttle back and forth from Center City! read more

This is a very nice casino. Lots of restaurants, helpful and very friendly employees. Valet parking. Fantastic gift shop. Almost every game and sports betting soon! No hotel. Not too far from the Ridley Park exit off 95. Harrah's has always been very very good to me. Highly recommended. Good luck! read more

It's literally the worse place to go. I went when they opened back up and they still served at the bar which was nice. Then I returned tonight and they closed the bar down. People were just sitting at machines not playing. It was a depressing sight and a very bad vibe. I will not be returning I can't wait till Philly Casino Live opens and puts this place out of business. Bad place all the way around. Atlantic City is 100 times better even on a bad day. read more

Did the buffet. $20 for some poor food, bad service, and a smokey environment. The beef they called prime rib was some type of mystery meat. It was the first fiber type prime rib I've seen. I would be surprised if it was horse. The rest of the food wasn't much better. The desserts was bland and flavorless. Slot machines were the main attraction in the casinos. There seemed to be arguments between the staff and customers at most of the table games we stopped to watch. The employees seemed poorly trained and not sure of what they were doing. We just ended up leaving. I'll stick with AC or the Delaware casinos. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS TERRIBLY RUN "PHILADELPHIA TAP" AT HARRAH'S One of the worst dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. We were invited by my brother for dinner and drinks at this "new bar" in Harrah's. Terrible from the beginning. Had a 7 PM. reservation, got there at 7:10 and took them 10 minutes to seat us on a Wednesday night when the place was not at all busy. It then took 20 minutes to get a drink and make an order when there were only a handful of people at the bar and dining room. We watched men in chef's hats stroll around the bar looking around and delivering soup to a couple of tables every so often throughout the evening, adding to our frustration. After flagging down the so called manager and being assured service would pick up, we received apps and a second round of drinks about 45 minutes later that included undercooked wings and overcooked potato skins. Expecting a dinner of burgers to take another hour, a couple of us went out to look at the games and found the so called manager hiding in a corner talking on his cell phone in the casino! What a joke! Not a good impression, especially for a new place. TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! The only positive thing was a pleasant, but inattentive waitress and good beer when she got the order correct. read more

We weren't sure what to expect in a casino in the suburbs. I was concerned it might be like the crowd you see in AC at the slots at 3 am, but we were both pretty happy with the atmosphere. We play occasionally in AC and Las Vegas and it felt comparable to a mid-grade casino in either city. Bright and new-ish was a plus. Or two plusses. I sat down at a poker table and everything was going fine (except for paying for drinks - what's up with that?) - went through several dealers, and one of the first four was complaining she was in a bad mood (it's customer service, keep it to yourself) and then J. sat down to deal. J. complained that it was supposed to be his day off and a few other players encouraged him to cheer up, as his griping was bringing us down. J. later revealed that he had switched days with another dealer (none of this is my business, but seriously, you still got a day off). I had some lousy cards and chose to fold rather than check, which is my decision. I didn't want to keep playing with them, I just wanted to fold. He told me I was not permitted to fold. A few other players defended me, but he was firm. So I sat through until the next bet and folded then. Several hands later, a new player tried to do the same, fold when she had the option to check, and he got angry. He was yelling at her and insisting that folding now wasn't fair to the other players. She, and others including me, insisted she could fold, and he said fine and snatched her cards away, still yelling about how it wasn't permitted. He offered to call a supervisor and another player said he should, but no one ever came and he kept going on with a raised voice about how she couldn't fold. The table was angry, and he went back to how today was supposed to be his day off. We're paying you, dude. I left because the mood was ruined, and played a few hands of blackjack. I had won two hands and lost one when I was dealt a 13 against the dealer's 2. I said I wanted to hit (which is a totally legit option) and she didn't acknowledge me and addressed the player to my left, so I tapped the table and said "hit" again and she glared at me and said, "You said you want to hit?" And I nodded. She continued to stare at me until I backed down (because I'm a wimp) and my 13 lost to her 20. I grabbed my chips and left. I'm used to that sort of attitude from other players at blackjack, and there are two differing schools of thought on how one should bet, but when I tell the dealer I want to hit, she needs to give me another card, I don't care if I have 20 showing against her 12. Two consecutive dealers with such bad attitudes and disinterest in customer service feels like a systematic problem. read more

Went to lunch today at the new Market cafe. I ordered a soup and chicken Caesar salad. Soup was excellent, the salad was horrible. Who serves Caesar salad with iceberg lettuce?? We all know it's supposed to be romaine. Very disappointing for a newly upgraded establishment. I took it for take out so I couldn't talk to anyone after the fact. read more

Never go back old slots not friendly at all poor food selection got cards service was slow and the ladies where nasty

This place is okkk:) their slots really never pay out at all.. The roulette tables are descent if u play smart the best time to play any table game is super early in the morning at night forget it not fun,, to many people gets annoying :( every single time me n my husband leave here we either leave with what we started with or lose a coup dollars... There's also a lot of stragglers however security is very attentive.. I do love that I can order a drink right off the machine .. Kinda turned off by this place anymore I been to parx a couple times n left with cash but harris 00000NOTHINg however the guy next to me won 4,000$$ on quick pick after putting 1000$ inn seems lk their only people who win..even the new games that are new to pay out read more

If you want to literally want to give money away within minutes this is the place to be!!! Staff hate their jobs and it shows. When the slot machines spin slow and wacky, leave. Tables are good for few hands, especially 21 but leaves you sad as dealers win 95 percent of time. Better off going to Parx as this is only a step up from Sugar House Casino. read more

Pluses are the Racetrack, The COVE restaurant which has come up in quality and Napoli for a quick pizza. Diamond club goes from average to occasionally very good depending on the day's menu. Only because this casino has poker and is closeby do I ever even venture to Harrah's Chester (i.e. Philadelphia- it's still chester folks) Conveniently located next to Chesters finest prison lies Harrah's. Oftentimes I will be playing for a good amount of time and no waitress will be in sight. They have one person who takes a drink order and another who brings it so they are many times wrong or never show up with the beverage you ordered. Due to this system you can spot many of the cocktail waitresses standing around talking and not working. The casino overall is not very clean, and food options are just average. Some of the dealers are good and some are void of personality or overly chatty at the table- there is not much consistency across the board. read more

Harrah's in Chester is always a "fun" place to go. They have everything the casinos in Atlantic City have, but just on a smaller scale. The employees (not all of them) are still relatively slow when it comes to which customer won X amount of money and so forth. If it's a bust night, don't expect to sit down at any of the table games and since it's a casino, don't expect to win much if anything at all. This is definitely more of an entertainment expense. There's plenty of free parking, free drinks, and even free frustration. I believe I've only left on top at Harrah's 3 or 4 times. Use a set amount of money and if that goes, then just leave. read more

PROS: clean facility, free parking. CONS: Tucked away nicely between a prison and the ghetto. Word to the wise: the money IS spent on the place which means very little is paid out. This place is MR CASHMAN heaven. MR CASHMAN occupies at least 75% of the floor. AND THEY DON'T PAY. Gamblers know the objective behind casinos with airtight slots but this place has the absolute worst payout percentage I have ever seen. I asked one of the guards on the welcoming committee which machines were paying out and he pointed me to the ATM. I laughed out of astonishment but should have taken him at his word. Lots of sleepers, and by that I mean people sleeping at the slot machines. Overall, unimpressive. I like to gamble and hate to lose just like everyone else but I think I would have been happy with a payout of ANY KIND. If you live in the DelMarVA region, you might consider avoiding Chester and it's ghettos, potholes, corner drug deals and the like. If you absolutely have to gamble, consider there are far better casinos offering a higher chance of winning and they are not that far away. **LEGALIZE ONLINE GAMBLING IN THE UNITED STATES** I'd rather lose in the comfort of my own home. read more

Had a chance to visit this casino briefly while on business in Philly. So glad I did! I was there 1.5 hours and walked out with $4500 in profit from slots. Loosest slots I have seen EVER (and that's saying something...I'm a gambler! ha ha). I also thought it was a good size casino with table games and lots of slots. It didn't seem smoky at all, either. I know I'm biased because I won, but even taking that out of the equation, I would return. I do agree with other reviewers that it's in a weird location. read more

DONT GO TO HARRAHS Chester!!!!!!! They do nothing but blow smoke up your ass. No comps then they send out a "host" named Joe and when you ask for him back he doesn't exist!! Ask for another host and nobody shows up. Food is horrible, payouts are worse than a AID's infected monkey. They tell you that your comps are higher on table play and then opposite when your play slots. DONT EVER THINK THEY WILL GIVE YOU ANY PERKS!! Best beat is go to another close casino or wait to see how the new casino by the stadium treats people. FYI I only have one star because Yelp wouldn't allow zero stars!! The only good thing at Harrahs Chester (Not Philly) is the C-bar and the staff there. But management is trying to screw that up too! Give it time and the property will be closed and sold to the prison in front of the facility read more

Just a review for The Cove, not the actual casino - great service and a good atmosphere. I enjoyed dinner here. The boyfriend surprisingly greatly enjoyed the rib steak here, too. A diamond card nabs you a very nice terraced view of the entire restaurant. I'd go back. read more

They had a couple of $5 blackjack tables but the pai gow is $25 minimum. Drinks are complimentary when you're gambling. Friendly dealers and pit bosses. What can I say. It's not The Borgata. I've hit a few times on the slots, but from what I see, and from what I hear and know about the experience of others who play the slots, the machines are tight. I've played in several Poker Tournaments here, and the Poker Room doesn't come close to the spacious and comfortable Tournament Poker Room at Delaware Park. However, its only ten minutes from my house and beats driving all the way to A.C. It serves its purpose. To reach any level of significance with their Rewards card you have to win a lot, and give a lot back. Or, be prepared to spend some heavy dough. By the way, you earn points much faster playing slots than you do at the tables. Good Luck! read more

I always leave this place a winner. A much better alternative to Atlantic City from Northeastern Bergen County. It can get crowded on the weekends and you might have trouble finding a blackjack table. You'll have your good players and your morons. No different from other casinos. It's still new, so it is clean. read more

This is a review on the gaming only - I mainly play poker here, however I have also played a decent amount of table games as well in the past. I've been to every casino in AC as well as almost every casino on the Vegas Strip so I think my assessment is pretty good. In my opinion it is excellent - very clean as it is only a few years old and has a nice decor. The dealers/staff have always been friendly. Although it is probably in the most rundown city in PA, I have never felt unsafe in the parking garage - it's well lit and I always see security. Also it's well designed so you can park your car and be in the casino in under 5 minutes, whereas other casinos can be what seems like a 10-15 minute walk. Table Games: Large selection, with the same games you would find in any Vegas/AC casino. Limits are a bit higher than the lowest minimums you would find in Vegas/AC though. Poker: I'm primarily a cash game player, and the poker room always has a decent amount of action. The tables can be a bit tightly packed but I actually prefer it over PARX where I feel like its a huge room and everyone is spread out which kind of gets boring - to each and their own. The dealers/floor staff are always friendly and extremely competent. The TV coverage is good in the room and they will accommodate your requests if everyone agrees. The competition is mediocre. If you are looking for a larger cash game (5-10+) then your better off going to PARX, as the 5-10 here only runs once in a while however there is always a 2-5 game going. No free alcohol. read more

Absolutely godawful if you're handicapped. They only have three handicapped spaces in the whole place and one handicap accessible blackjack table. I complained to the manager about this, yet they still took thirty minutes to open it up while continuing to place dealers at the regular tables, even while said tables were nearly deserted. It's 2015. Treat your handicapped customers with more respect. I'll definitely be taking my gambling money elsewhere. UPDATE: The employee never contacted me, replied to my emails, or my phone calls. This business obviously doesn't care about disabled customers or listening to complaints about handicapped accessibility. Avoid. read more

First time in this casino and definitely the last. Everywhere we went, we were treated terribly. Yelled at, because we didn't stand in line, sent away because we're not gold members. Customer service, zero. Extremely disappointed! read more

My cheap-ass homies and I usually get together in a bunch and go here whenever Temptations' buffet has their two-for-one special lunch deals, which comes to about $8 per person. We can't complain. Temptations has numerous seafood options, which I gorge on... salmon, mussels, clams, whitefish, catfish, and some other kind of pasta seafood dish with scallops and shrimp. Yeah they have chinese, italian, southern comfort, and steak/pork/ribs sections too. Plus salad and dessert bars. I don't gamble and I don't drink booze, so this buffet deal is the only thing that gets me in the door at Harrah's, and it's great to get caught up with the cheap-ass homies too! read more

Nice casino for a quick stop. Not much else to do if you don't gamble or like the races. But for me it's good cause it's close.

Visited this casino a few times with no luck.. let's just say this place is built right across the street from a jail lol.. yes I'm not kidding. The casino itself is pretty nice with a parking garage that is free. This place has a good amount of games but all around it doesn't seem to have much going on. The area it's built around if you ask me is down right kinda nerves wrecking.. Atlantic City while not the most safe and clean city start's to seem well safe lol.. Drink's used to not be free on the house here.. at one point I remember telling a cock tail waitress to take a hike when she told me 2 mixed drink's was $21 while gambling.. It's not the worst place to gamble but for some reason anytime I visited this place I felt very un safe lol. read more

Hey y'all decided yesterday to go visit Harrah's after they reopened to get out of the house. I waited about 20-25 minutes in a line for a guy to take my temperature. This guy was so confused on how to work the new gadgets they have for screening. He was so uneducated about the new tools that he was just passing people through. After getting in there it was nothing different or new in the inside that I could see to help or reduce the chance of getting the virus. The tables were just like before and people were close and even had people just standing at the side or around players as they played. The slot machines were they only thing that I saw had any kind of social distancing going on, they were closed down every 3 or so. It was just as crowded as any other Saturday night. I was definitely afraid of catching something their. I didn't feel like they valued me let alone their employees. I mentioned it to one of the employees and they had the same sentiments about this place. I will not be going back here until after this virus is long gone .. my life and well being is worth more than what Harrah's values it. If you value your life this is definitely not the place to be. My biggest concern was they were not enforcing the mask guidelines. People was getting in and removing them after entrance and no one telling them that they need to have your mask on while in the casino. Delaware Park plays an announcement every 30 minutes or so to remind people. I have gone their since they open and the environment their is completely different and you feel safe but Harrah's the complete opposite. I love the slots at Harrah's more than the other casinos in the area but as I said my health's and family health is my first concern, so if you value you and yours don't go there, a big mess and a big outbreak waiting to happen..., CORONAVIRUS IS ABOUT TO BE RAMPANT IN THIS PLAC read more

So it didnt take me long to read someone wrote that drinks are not complimentary... LIES!! I am a cocktail server at harrah's, we serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages complimentary, alcoholic last call is 1:15. Theres dozens of servers on the floor at all times and even if we get busy, we provide beverage on demand. Beverage on demand is a computer in your slot machine where you can order either service or the drink you want (shirly temple, strawberry daq, draft) the only non-complimentary item are bottled beer which range between 2 and 6 dollars. up-beat and positive is a must, with constant reviews we can literally be fired for a bottom bar review. read more
