Stopped here recently with a pack of guys who live 10 minutes down the road in Delaware. Even though it is called Harrahs Philadelphia's- it's in Chester which is still 10-15min our of the city. Parking was free which is good, and depending on your GPS, you may be taken through a rough neighborhood. I personally don't mind but there it is. The casino seemed like your standard size - high industrial ceilings, lots of room. Decent table game nest, and even though the limits were somewhat high even for a weekend- masks are standard and forehead temperature checks are standard coming inside. So I was talked into going here. Mind you, I'm not a gambler so I've never come here. It's a Thursday so when we pulled up to valet it was empty! You can self park in the garage. Atmosphere: loud, bright and smoky!!! Service: because it was a Thursday, service at the machines for drinks was pretty quick. The Dealers at the roulette table was nice and helpful as we didn't know what we were doing. The penny and, 5 cents slots were hit or miss. We won good then of course loss big. Hey it's a casino. The cashier was very pleasant too. The restaurants closed early and there wasn't many selections. The noodle restaurant and the grab and go place was open. There was a drink area where you could get soda and that is convenient since most casinos you have to order from the cocktail waitress. Overall I would go back and try my luck. Good luck!! read more

The racetrack was closed the day I visited so not sure how popular or cool it is but I can say the seats were great as they are not on top of each other. There are a few restaurants which I did not try (yet). They have a Starbucks. There are overpriced ATMs in the building ($6 fee). Plenty of free offstreet parking. The place is not huge but it's big enough that you won't have an issue grabbing a table or machine. They have a self serve soda machine. There is a VIP section for Diamond members. We're not big gamblers, so we've only been to Harrah's three times since it opened. When it first opened years ago, we went solely to play the slots. We didn't go again until last month, when we went to a concert in the Block (way back behind all the slots) that friends of ours were playing at (Dead Sea Squirrels!). We went again last week for an event at Guy Fieri's Philly Kitchen & Bar and had a really nice dinner there. Our experience at Harrah's has been just fine. Each time, we've been able to park right on the first level of the parking garage which works out for us. It seems pretty clean to me and there's a ton of staff around. My only complaint would be the signage out front - if you're not careful, you'll end up at the prison. It's very dark back in there and Harrah's could use a more dramatic entrance. Maybe there's another entrance at the other end and we're coming in the back way? I don't know - it could definitely use some oomph either way. read more

It was NYE and my sister and I decided to go to Harrah's to possibly win us some New Years money, well that didn't happen for the both of us, actually it was kind of a bust at this casino on that day. The casino is very large and it also has a spacious parking lot. I first noticed that the outside of the casino is not as pretty, eye catching and colorful like the Sugar house or Parx nonetheless I figured we was gonna have us a good time regardless cause that's how we get down lol! The pro's of this casino is that everyone seems to effectively abide by the separated sections and it wasn't a big ole smokefest like the Sugar house. The smokers were in the smoking section and the non smoking section was what it was, non smoking!! They also had a variety of food options which was also a plus. The cons of the evening was the ATM machine that didn't work during the time we were there, I actually came prepared with cash on hand, however my sister tried over 10 times to get her money out and was unable to. We then talked to a security guard who informed to us that all the machines were currently down. Wow how all the machines are going to be down on the day that makes the most money. We came here for the racing. The bar was closed and the only thing available was the Tito's bar outside. Normally I would be fine with that except the "featured" Tito's drink was disgusting. Do not bet the harness races. They are not honest. Horses who go for the lead almost always drop in odds after they leave the gate. Uncanny how those are the horses who drop In price. As a very casual gambler, I didn't think there's much reason for me to visit Harrah's Chester. I typically associate my casino experiences with the beach town of AC or the strip of Vegas. A Gin Blossoms concert at the music venue, the Block, was my recent draw. I'll go into more detail in that review, however it was an intimate venue and a stress free general admission experience. Tim Williams did an acoustic set outside of the Block near one of their bars until about 1am. Killer performance but random environment of post concert goers and casino regulars. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to try the Guy Fieri spot and ended up eating sandwiches in the Market. Inexpensive but nothing special. There were a ton of slots and tables. If that's your thing, it is a good reason to visit. There's no hotel so everyone needs to find a safe way home. It's nice that parking is free. I'd go back for another concert or special event, but was otherwise unimpressed. read more

Great idea opening up an Irish bar, but too bad it is never open, and when it is, there are no options for horse racing players. You would think they could give us 1 machine to bet on. I know people who love Irish bars, who went out of their way to attend here on a Saturday at 2 in the afternoon, but bar was closed. What is the point of bars that are never opened? What Irish bar is closed on a weekend afternoon? They probably wonder why no customers show up. Feel like I got scammed, so never again will I go to this place again. I enjoy Caesars properties in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, but my experience at this place has really left me soured to this location. After spending 3 hours in this place (and ready to leave), I sit down at a slot machine on my way out, put in my card and $40 dollars and start playing. 5 minutes after playing a girl comes over, and said that she had put $20 in the machine before I got there, and she wants her money. Ok fine, but who does that? Since, I was tired and dehydrated (due to lack of drink service), I didn't notice if that was the case at all when I put my money in and started hitting buttons. So needless to say, 3 different management people came over to the machine to look at it's log, so the whole ordeal took almost a damn hour. Finally (sensing my impatience), one of the managers says just make it easy, and with nothing conclusively presented, just give this girl $20. Good scam. This casino has gone downhill tremendously!! There is no longer a restaurant upstairs for Diamond Members, nor has the best restaurant there, The Cove re-opened! This place obviously doesn't care about their patrons at all. Machines are out of service a lot, cash machines are out of order or don't give change, total rewards change promotions without any notification to members. If you drive a distance to this location, it's definitely a gamble if you will enjoy yourself. They have the worse slot beverage service in the area, if you order a drink your wait is so long you will run out of money before it shows up. I don't know if anybody informed them that the pandemic is still happening. If you enter with a mask on, they make you lower it before you enter the gaming floor. If I'm wearing a mask that means I don't want to be exposed to the environment. Most of the restaurants are still closed. Who goes to a casino without eating? The eating establishments that are open are not worth the money. You would think with all of the closed services they have they would give better promotions and rewards. This casino sucks; save your money and go elsewhere! The parking garage is a nightmare; when you get up to the level that all the 'regular people/ base players' park; they block the whole aisle to wait 20 minutes for someone to come out so they can park. Once inside, my friend needed a casino card and she didn't have one, but they refused to print it out for her since apparently her id didn't look like her(she used to be blond and is now brunette) and was going to expire soon. Even though she had her renewal paperwork on her (and note, the ID was not expired yet!), they refused to print her out a card. Then within the first 5 minutes of being on the floor, I was harassed twice for my ID, and not nicely either. By the time the second guy came over, I was pretty annoyed already. Then he told me I had to wear a wristband; this would help with the ID issue because it is apparently their policy to harass people who look under 30 if they don't have a wristband on. Apparently the first guy who grabbed me should have given me one. He then told me if I refused to wear a wristband, I would have to leave (which for the record is absolutely insane. If I've already proven to you that I am over 21, what the hell is the problem?) At that point, I decided it was no longer worth it to spend any more of my time and any of my money at that casino; I didn't play a single game, since I was so annoyed. On a Saturday night, at 6:30pm, for letting me sign up for your Players Club card for the first time, you're going to let me have a free buffet, and $25 in free slot play which I can then turn into $22.90 of actual cash to walk out the door with? Gee, why don't you twist my arm? I've been to Harrah's a number of times in my life, just never gotten around to reviewing them. And please don't let the fact that they just bribed me with $50 worth of freebies make you think that this is clouding my judgement. It probably is, I just don't want you to think that. Truth is, of the major casinos nearby in Pennsylvania, I'd definitely come to Harrah's over Sugar House, over Parx, and I'll even throw in over Delaware Park. I've liked Harrah's in general since day 1. Now, are they perfect? No. The buffet hasn't always been good. Although tonight they had several things I liked. They had a couple of things I didn't like. But tonight I'll say they pulled off a majority. If a previous review is to be believed, they may have improved the quality here. I don't think they have enough great slots that hold my interest, but they have more than enough mediocre slots. I'm not a slots guy anyway so don't ask me. I am a table game player, and I'll put Harrah's tables over Sugar House's easily. Probably on par with Parx, but I've only been to Parx once. I was happy to see $10 tables earlier on a Saturday because I'm a cheapskate, but by the time I left they were $15. That's par for the course. Higher tables could be had. Whenever I've played, I've been able to get a seat, which seems to rarely be the case when I visit Sugar House. But the funniest thing... my wife and I both signed up for the Players card, as did two of our friends. We all got the free buffet, so a $100 food bill was comped for us. They all got $10 in free slot play. For some reason I "won" $25 in free play. I suppose they have a random thing going behind the scenes that gives out higher rewards for the heck of it. That higher amount actually gave me a chance to build up some cash which, after I played the free play, I was able to cash out and leave with. So I got a free night at Harrah's on a Saturday night and walked home with some of their money. But I'm certain that was a one time deal. And I don't know if the deal changes from time to time or not. But, you could do a lot worse on a Saturday night to keep yourself occupied. And it will talk me into coming back again. One last thing... a couple of weeks later we get coupons for comped rooms during the week in Atlantic City. They're really giving away the farm to get your business. read more

I'll start with the positives: Ample and convenient parking, acceptable decor, generally clean atmosphere. Now for the laundry list of negative. This casino has no cocktail waitresses and no free alcoholic drinks. There is a chuck-e-cheese style free soda machine, but that is as far as the complimentary service goes. At least at chuck-e-cheese you get prizes for all the money you dump into the machines. At Harrah's Chester you get second hand smoke. The machines seem tighter than AC or Vegas. I'm not sure what payback percentage the machines are set at, but it seems like they are all set at state minimum. The casino is located in a slum next to a state prison. You can't fault Harrah's for that, but it is certainly a negative. The Temptations Buffet is the worst buffet I have ever been to in my entire life. Folks be hatin' on Harrah's pretty hard. I went with a group of friends who after a bachelor shindig. Most of them live nearby and frequent this place pretty often and a couple were diamond members. I'm not much of a gambler so I only played a little. We spent most of our time in the high rollers area which was too rich for my blood but the staff were all great and I had a good time even though I wasn't playing much. The place is pretty big so make sure to have game plan on where to find each other if you're with a group of drunken thirty-somethings. Some of our group lost and some won. Really? I mean REALLY, they had to pick this location, they couldn't go another block or two up or down the road. Don't cause a fight because they might throw you in the prison located right next door. They have 2 levels of gambling , with escalators leading you to your destination. Second floor one can access the horse track seating, watch them race it out. The same level also offers you a poker room with plenty of seating. The third floor is where all the other gaming is from slots ( plenty of them) to the table games. The restaurants are mediocre at best, now they added a Tony Lukes to the place. As I started up the escalators to the gaming floor I was warmly greeted by a Harrah's employee. It was an afternoon weekday so the place was slow. Unless you live under a rock, everyone in the area knows that they now have table games. Also a poker room. Of course a bazillion slots. If you've been to AC you probably noticed that some of the properties look a little tired. Here everything is fresh. I've found the employees to be particularly friendly. The vibe is different here than in AC. The free adult beverages aren't flowing. Soft drinks are free and self-serve. There are no shows or comedy clubs and no hotel rooms. Sooooooooooooo folks come here to gamble. Make sure you get a Total Rewards card and have at it! read more

While the location leaves a lot to be desired (then again what casino is in a good location), the size of the casino and gaming options are okay. I prefer it over Valley Forge & Parx because it has poker, the casino and poker room are in the same building and the table game limits are less than $25.00 a hand (i.e., affordable). As a female, the parking garage is a bit sketchy, so I suggest parking close to the door and on a level that does not require use of the elevator. Valet may be your best bet if you are concerned about safety and are by yourself. It amazes me the number of security they have inside the casino and how little they have outside of it. I have gambled at many casinos (mostly poker and pai-gow) and would rate this one toward the bottom. The clouds of smoke you have to deal with on the gaming floor are very undesirable. I've also found a lot of the players at the casino to be extraordinarily rude to one another. I've had women push me out of the way to get seats at the pai-gow table and seen multiple people get in screaming matches at a 1-2 no limit game. Although the players could use some courses on respect, the dealers and staff are all very pleasant and are really the only reason I come to this establishment. While there are some decent promotions for poker players - bad beat, high hand of the day, random drawings - I rarely get free hotel room offers at other Harrahs properties or free play. The offers are definitely better if you play at Harrahs in Atlantic City then they are at Chester. Furthermore, the restaurants are awful, so I suggest eating before you come. While the pizza at Cafe Napoli is decent, it will take close to 40 minutes to actually get it. They insist on making everything to order which results in a long back up. The noodle bar is extremely overpriced, and I am not a buffet person, so I wouldn't even consider this as an option. As far as drinking is concerned, if you are a slot player or table game player, bottom shelf drinks are free, but poker players, with the exception of 2-5 no limit, have to pay. I rarely drink because of this. On a side note, I was very excited to actually reach Platinum status this past year just from playing poker but realized that it doesn't really equate to anything. While they treat you like a princess in Vegas for being Platinum, they treat you like crap at Chester. They gave me a reward book in March that was awful. My parents got the same one for playing in Atlantic City and there book had a ton more offers in it. When I tried to use the dinging certificates they provided, the restaurant at Chester refused to allow me to combine them. I have been going to Harrah's for years now . I play poker , usually tournaments . I have always liked the casino . Friendly dealers , free parking , etc . They have a new poker room now too . I would like to single out one person who went above and beyond to take care of a "strange" request I had . I contacted the casino via e-mail about a certain keepsake they had from a long time ago that I didn't see anywhere anymore . I received a reply from Poker Manager Bruce Pearlman . He had / was able to get what I was looking for , and gave it to me at my next visit . I know how hard this was to find for me , so I feel that Harrah's and especially Bruce Pearlman should get recognized , at least by me , for outstanding customer service . I spend so much time and money here and at other harrahs/Caesar's locations it's actually unreal. Tonight, my 100th time at harrahs, mind you, I spend time at harrahs Philly, AC, BILOXI, MS. Ect. Well tonight... I was at harrahs casino and Philly racetrack Philly and the rudeness and actual disrespect I felt tonight by the cashier people was unreal. I've brought my mother-in-law here to experience harrahs as she hasn't been here in years, she forgot her pin to her card and Mr Joseph E, in the cage gave us the nastiest most rude customer service experience I have ever encountered, the attitude, the rolling of his eyes when asking for help changing the pin, it's like he couldn't be bothered, then, to end our night $700 dollars later, my husband won a little bit on the roulette table; he brought the wrong chips to the cage, because no one told him other wise, and Mrs. Lekisha in the cage was so rude to my husband saying "wrong chips, those are roulette chips not cash in chips, come back with the correct ones, NEXT" literally the audacity is astonishing. it's not hard to be decent and explain to people, WHO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY HERE, but usually play slots, that the chips can't be cashed in and we had the wrong ones, but apparently rudeness is key here because people need to just "feel on charge" behind the cage. I've been here a million times and have never once been disappointed and disrespected as much as I have been tonight in just a few hours. It makes me not want to even come back. You really need to check your workers and figure out why they think they're so much more important and superior then the people coming to play. Last night we were told we do not meet the requirements to get in. We were never notified of the changes in their policy. We were told there were signs. Great place. I read about harrahs in my IT management class about how it fared well after an IT restructuring effort. Looks like they are really doing well now. Same stuff as in other casinos, nice machines (newer) , minimum plays are affordable and doesnt feel like they r robbing us like the ones in Maryland. Nothing is good about this casino. Slots are tighter then a than spandex on a 350-pound person. You cannot get a drink to save your life. You can order your drink on your slot machine and you will not see anyone come around for over 30 minutes. They want you to send your money, or should I say take your money since their slots sure don't payback anything, and lose everything before even getting a drink. You would think playing their Higher Limits area, we could get a drink and see someone hit something. We did not see one payout on a Saturday night, which really make you think about playing there. Playing tables is pretty much the same, you will wait and wait to get a drink. The tables are hard to get a seat at to play, while their are other tables that are not used and could be open. They don't rate you well at the tables. At least slots you get rated, tables are as good as lighting a match to your money. Little to no comps being based on your play. Being a Diamond TR member, this is the worse Caesars property out of the 14 that I played at. Their diamond lounge is the worse one out of all of the other Caesars locations I have played at. Plus you need to pay for your drinks there, unlike any other Diamond Lounge. I am really surprised the Caesars Entertainment don't look into how bad this location makes them look. Wish I could give them no stars! Absolute crooks who don't want to pay out winners. Played the wheel for a couple of hours, when it lands on my low numbers in the same way o get paid no question. It lands on the 45 and they call the floor manager over who says it's a "no spin" and proceeds to have us thrown out when we questioned it. We go to security, who agreed with us that it was a win, and they took us to the "gaming police". Everything has gone downhill at this casino. My husband and I visited Harrah's Philadelphia at 11PM last night. By the time we left (@ 4 hours later) I noticed: -the slots are tighter than ever -the only eating establishment that was open is terrible -we couldn't get water or ice at the "free" beverage dispenser on the casino floor -there needs to be security present in the ATM areas, I felt very unsafe when two strangers approached me as I withdrew cash -the "C" bar/lounge isn't even open when you want to relax and get a drink (yes if I'm handing you $$$$ at 3AM I should be able to go to an open lounge!!) -we got no free play/comps whatsoever even though we played (and lost) nearly $1000 here on our last visit 3 weeks ago -a casino experience cannot be this horrible if they want customers to return My husband and I both agreed: -The lack of quality food options, a bar that's open, security placed where needed, and low % payout on any slot machines we played are very real problems. -This casino won't stay in business much longer if they don't improve conditions. -We have no desire to come back here anymore. read more

Not the worst small middle of nowhere casino I've ever visited. People were friendly. All the needed table game. Need more food options. Never got offered a drink at a table and played for an hour. Kind of stupid. If they kept the bloody Mary's coming no doubt I would have played more. And lost more. Slots were boring as hell. Mostly penny slots. No high end machines I could find with big jackpots. A slot with a jackpot of $262.50 doesn't get the blood pumping. All and all glad I stopped in. Nice play to kill a few hours. Certainly would not go out of my way for it. Low energy. read more
