Due to her declining health and decreased eyesight, she hardly ever used it. So I took it home, reset it and figured I'd get some use out of it. Except that I didn't realize she kept that sucker plugged in ALL THE TIME. That killed the battery. I could use it for about 15 minutes after being fully charged before it shut itself off due to a low battery. Frustration! Who knew that Batteries Plus Bulbs was able to replace an iPad battery? I certainly didn't, until I asked when I went in to replace a battery on my car's key fob. Sure enough, they do! I brought the iPad with me, they assessed which battery I would need and told me it would need to be pre-paid and ordered. $99 total cost (plus tax, of course). About 2 weeks later, I get a call that the battery is in. Bring the iPad in, leave it with them for a day and the battery is now replaced. Well, I haven't charged it in nearly a week - and the battery level is still in the 80 percent range. Wow! I can actually USE this iPad now. Cost was a lot less expensive than bringing it to Apple (and since it was out of warranty, there was no coverage available), and this location is a whole lot easier to get to than going to the Apple Store in the mall. However a man named Chris made my elderly mother feel very uncomfortable. He ignored my mother and helped every person behind my mother.
