My exhaust had detached from the pipe on my motorcycle. It was super loud, and I could feel the heat coming from it. Pulled into this location just barely in time, about 3 minutes before closing. (As an employee-- customers walking in last min, normally very cringy). But Mike was very willing to help. He not only helped me find a clamp for my exhaust, but he put it on for me. This small town auto parts store has the benefit of being less crowded and more accessible than others, but it then comes down to good, efficient service to make it worthwhile. I've found the selection to be good and the service to be hit or miss, so it's not necessarily my first option. I've been in twice over the years. Once for a battery issue and once to get my windshield wipers changed. the battery issue was addressed by a gentleman who knew batteries back to front, gladly came out to my vehicle to address the problem (loose connection) and had me back on the road on no time. The wiper issue was handled by a guy with a nonchalant attitude and next to no knowledge of the correct wipers I needed. I ended up returning the incorrect product I purchased and going elsewhere. Take the good with the bad and think of this as an option, not necessarily a first choice. read more

I have a 2000 Subaru which is more like a spare car so we don't drive it that often and I noticed that recently it would not start so I assumed it was bad alternator because the battery would start right away as soon as I put jumper cables on it so I bought an alternator. However, it turned out that it was a bad battery so I thought I would be out $226 bucks but when I explain to these guys what happened and that I didn't install it yet they gave me a full refund which is really cool. We recently drove up to Amador in our 2000 Ford F350 truck. The battery light came on, and then we realized our headlights were getting dim- and we certainly were not going to get to our destination! We called another auto parts store first, which was closing at 5pm. When we said we might not get there until a few minutes after 5pm, it was just an "oh well, we close at 5pm- see you if you get here!" They definitely didn't care to stay a few minutes late to help people in need! We did get there by 5, but they didn't have the alternator we needed. Then we called O'Reilly's, as they were open till 8 pm - and they had the alternator we needed! Yay! Not only that- but when we asked if we could borrow a wrench so my husband could install it, the young man helping us said he would help us install it!! (He had gone to school to be an auto mechanic, so we felt comfortable we were in good hands). Nick removed the old one, put the new one in, did it all very efficiently, and was so polite and helpful. We kept telling each other how incredibly lucky we were to end up there!! Nick was so amazingly helpful, and Jimmy was great too. Hope they get a raise soon- they deserve it!
