UPDATE: Took my car to Jackson Tire for my shocks instead. Confirmed my shocks needed replacing and charge me $100 less to do so and got it done in 6 hours along with a new set of tires. Best part is the price they quoted me was the price they actually charged me. Now my car rides like it's glued to the road running on rails.
1) Keith Lynch Quoted me $1250 for a new exhaust manifold, new shocks, new radiator houses, and a oil change with a 1 day turn around. Told him I was expecting it to end up costing $1500 at least, he told me that was way too high.
2a) Wasted a day looking for a new CARB legal exhaust manifold saying it would cost $1900 and was back ordered until July (Later I would find same part on ebay from a company in Tennessee for $600 with free 7-10 day shipping). Offered to weld the leak instead saying he'll only charge me a few hundred dollars and only if it worked, otherwise no charge.
2b) Told me I don't need new shocks, even though they are the stock shocks on a 10 year old vehicle with 100,000+ miles and despite having been told by a Big O Tires that one of my rear shocks was starting to leak back at 75,000 miles a year ago. I told him I still wanted new shocks and still argued with me about it.
3) Waited another day and no work has been done on my car.
4) Waited a 3rd day, Friday. Was told by Keith it took him 4 HOURS just to remove my exhaust manifold. He tells me he'll have it back on by end of the day and provide an updated invoice for all the other work. End of the work day, nothing.
5) What was suppose to be a 1 day job now is 5 days and counting as it I'm left without a car on the weekend after dropping it off Tuesday evening.
6) Monday, finally hear back from Keith. The exhaust leak is fix, but now it is costing me $500 when I was quoted only a few on the phone. That in mind, he now quotes me $1900 for all work together. This when he originally quoted me $1250 with $1500 "being way too high" for the job.
7) I go pick up my car I ask him why the price increase and he tells me it took him EIGHT HOURS to remove and reattached my manifold. I tell him that's not my problem because no way it should have taken that long if he knew what he was doing and/or had the proper tools and that it would never cost that much flat rate. After some arguing he finally honors his original quote of a "few hundred" and only charges me about $365 for the fix and oil change (no way I'm having him do the other work now).
8) The next day I look under my hood and I see he had broken almost EVERY clamp/fastener that was holding my wiring harness safely to my engine. What few that weren't broken he's left the wires unfasten. I now have to rely on zip ties to hold everything safely in place or risk the wiring getting damage or melted on my engine. Never said a word to me about any of it.
