It's been a long time since I've been satisfied with the friendliness of the staff, but most importantly, the quality and "honestly" of the mechanic(s). No wonder why they're so busy! I would recommend Tommy's Garage to my closest peeps. read more

Yes, five stars! If you're looking for an honest, reliable, and reasonably priced mechanic in Ione, Tommy's Garage is the place to go. It's rare these days to find a shop you can truly trust, and this one is a real gem. Tommy is straightforward, fair, and doesn't try to upsell you on things you don't need. The work is solid, and the pricing is reasonable--especially compared to many other places. You might have to wait a bit for an appointment because they stay busy (which says a lot), but it's absolutely worth it. And I'm confident they'd do their best to help in an emergency situation. Highly recommend! read more

A woman of few words & little time. As a busy person, I like to get to the point. Tommy's was like an ADHD, OCD woman's dream. My call to Tommy's was short & sweet. In under 1 minute I got a quote and scheduled to drop off my car. On the day of my appointment, they were expecting me, took my keys and said they'd call when it was ready. No fluff. No BS. In and out in under 30 seconds. Within just a few hours I got the call that my car was ready. I Ubered over, Tommy's stuck to my quoted price without the waiver of even a penny in either direction. Walk in. Swipe card. Grab keys. Go. I love service like this. It's just my personality. I've spent more time writing this review than I did communicating with Tommy's. They did an excellent job on my car *wheel bearing* and I couldn't be happier! read more

Today I had a slow leak in a tire, and was still 20 miles from home. I stopped by this business, and a very nice young man aired up my tire. I made it back into town safely. read more

Very efficient Fast and priced well. Using this garage for all my vehicles without hesitation

Tommy has always been honest and very helpful. I have been taking my truck here for 5 years. Looking forward to continuing to have my vehicles serviced here. read more

Took my truck to Tommy's about a year ago for a new transmission. Service was great considering I just dropped in without an appointment. Staff was easy to work with and friendly. Work was prompt and has still not had an issue. read more

I appreciate Tommy's garage! Tommy is great! Although he is always busy, he will take the time to explain repairs done or needed. When I bring my automobiles in, he pays attention and notes any possible problems. He noted a sluggish battery the last time I went in and took it upon himself to check the battery, charged it as he completed other work. He a no nonsense kind of guy. Give him and his staff respect and you will receive respect. The woman at the front desk is personable and hustles. She is efficient and helpful. Again a no nonsense employee! They have gone out of their way to assist me in other circumstances, making no money.,..ie., talking to me over the phone to solve a problem and getting me in touch with a local tow company. I don't know if there is anything he can't repair! Why go to Jackson, when we have stellar help here in town?! Thank you, Tommy, you and your shop is A-1!! read more

My tire light came on and one of the gentlemen working was nice enough to check all 4 of my tires, air them up for me, and let me know what the problem may be. read more

Went to Tommy's garage to discuss a mechanical issue and try to schedule a repair. Tommy was a complete jerk and totally unhelpful. Im actually glad he was a jerk right upfront because it told me I needed to leave and go elsewhere. Don't waste your time with this place!! read more

Can't say enough about this business. We moved to Ione a year ago and we're recommended here. They work in all 3 of our vehicles, including my husband's 66 El Camino. What great service!! Always responsive and always friendly..... read more

Take forever to fix my car. They had my car for 3 days and it took forever to get it fixed. Never go there on a Friday cause they will keep your car til Monday or later. Looking for a new place to get my car done. Shouldn't take so long to fix a problem they know whats wrong with it. I dont think they understand people have lived and need thier vehicles. Wish they would get it together read more

I could write a 5 page essay on why I love Tommy's garage. They are reliable, trustworthy, and do great work. I was told the transmission on my 2017 truck was going out by dealership but after taking it to Tommy's garage, they told me the honest truth, which was the transmission was just fine. Instead of needing to buy a new truck I spent a couple hundred bucks and the truck drives like it did the day I bought it. I will forever take every vehicle I ever own to Tommy's garage. They even replaced a brake light in my truck when I took it in for an oil change and I didn't even know the light was out...definitely saved me from possibly being pulled over by police. Thank you for doing great work and being an honest place of business!!! read more

Oh my gosh...I just can't praise this business enough! Honestly they were the only garage that was able to fix my car! We were told the engine was shot by 2 different places, but Tommy's took the time to really figure it out. It was an easier, much more affordable fix than a new motor! They are honest and do a great job. Be patient, they are BUSY because they are really good and because nowadays parts are often hard to get quickly. But good things are worth waiting for! read more

Tommy's Garage is the best! They respond quickly, they're honest and reasonably priced. I brought my truck in and I couldn't find a ride home. They gave me a ride. Good people! read more

It's is so hard to find a real honest mechanic in today world. I am one who usually takes my cars to a mechanic when it breaks down. Every single time I have my car towed to Tommy's garage he welcomes me in like we're old friends. I usually get a diagnosis and an estimate within the first half hour. Even when he's super busy. His pricing is always way lower than any other mechanic in our area and he never tries to upsell you or pressure you into getting more work done. The work is high quality and fast. His staff is always so friendly. Seriously, if you need your own personal mechanic who does the high quality work, fast and very fairly priced. You have got to take your car to Tommy's. I'll never use another mechanic again. What a peace of mind. No stress, No anxiety. read more

I went here once because i had a coupon for am oil change and it being where i lived i wanted to give it a try. Word of mouth is everything in a small town. Tommy's Garage - Body Shops Near Me - Ione, California

A few years ago, I was on my way up from Sacramento to Amador County, and just outside of Rancho Murieta, my tailpipe started smoking. Too much oil. I at least got the car to Tommy's Garage in Ione, they drained the oil, put new oil in (correct amount, lol). I was going to be late for a meeting, so believe me, I was willing to pay whatever/any amount they required and then some...they ended up charging me something ridiculously low, like $10-12. I'm like, "What?!" They said, "Naw, it's all good." I got to my meeting just a few minutes late, but I want to thank Tommy's Garage for saving my butt that day. I could tell they were way busy when I pulled into their place, but that they took the time and could see that I was in a panic...well, that's just amazing, hometown, good, friendly service. Thanks again, Tommy's Garage!!! read more

Brought my car in to be worked on and had the most excellent customer service! Not only are the employees honest, but they are a very friendly and fair family owned business. Tommy helped me himself when I came into the shop, the receptionist was also very helpful with explaining the problems with my car! I would recommend them to anyone with car troubles, I'll definitely be back! read more

I took my truck to Tommy garage for repairs and they stated that the valve springs were broken and wanted $3400.00 so I had it tower to my regular shop and they found the cam phaser was bad and the valve srings were perfect. They did all the repairs for $1600.00 and now my truck run perfect. Tommy's also got a greasy oil all over my clothes seatsand i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TOMMY'S THEY ARE RIP OFFS. They give small town shop a bad name. read more

I took my car to Tommys about a month ago to have the lower front engine mount replaced. Then I found the upper stabilizer torque mount busted the next day. They fixed it all but charged me for the upper mount that was clearly busted and all the bolts were loose. Then a week ago I hear this grinding noise underneath. I bring it in today to Midas and they found all the bolts for the power steering brackets loose or missing causing the power steering line to move freely and cause chafing of the line. Needless to say.... I will never go back to Tommy's Garage. Im contemplating suing them for damages. But I'm satisfied that this is good enough. read more

I took both my of my (old) vehicles to Tommy's 18+ months ago. A different shop quoted $3200 to replace the motor on the truck; Tommy charged me less than half of that! The warranty was good for 18 months. 17 months later I blew a gasket - Tommy fixed it as per the warranty with ZERO hassle. In Feb. 2015 I spent nearly $800 on the second vehicle to replace the water pump and serp/timing belts. MORE than 18 months passed...and the water pump failed (bad part, not labor). I was expecting Tommy to charge me something but even though it was no longer in warranty, he replaced the water pump at no charge, and again with ZERO hassle. I am really, really pleased with Tommy's honesty - his good reputation is well deserved. I really appreciate knowing I can have work done by an honest garage.I read more

I take my truck and wife's car (which is a subaru) and have nothing but great things to say about Tommy and his guys! Everyone is honest and does great work. And unlike other shops, he doesn't charge you when you bring it in to just find out what is wrong with it! Thanks Tommy! Customer for life! read more
