I appreciate Tommy's garage! Tommy is great! Although he is always busy, he will take the time to explain repairs done or needed. When I bring my automobiles in, he pays attention and notes any possible problems. He noted a sluggish battery the last time I went in and took it upon himself to check the battery, charged it as he completed other work. He a no nonsense kind of guy. Give him and his staff respect and you will receive respect. The woman at the front desk is personable and hustles. She is efficient and helpful. Again a no nonsense employee! They have gone out of their way to assist me in other circumstances, making no money.,..ie., talking to me over the phone to solve a problem and getting me in touch with a local tow company. I could write a 5 page essay on why I love Tommy's garage. They are reliable, trustworthy, and do great work. I was told the transmission on my 2017 truck was going out by dealership but after taking it to Tommy's garage, they told me the honest truth, which was the transmission was just fine. Instead of needing to buy a new truck I spent a couple hundred bucks and the truck drives like it did the day I bought it. I will forever take every vehicle I ever own to Tommy's garage. They even replaced a brake light in my truck when I took it in for an oil change and I didn't even know the light was out...definitely saved me from possibly being pulled over by police. Oh my gosh...I just can't praise this business enough! Honestly they were the only garage that was able to fix my car! We were told the engine was shot by 2 different places, but Tommy's took the time to really figure it out. It was an easier, much more affordable fix than a new motor! Every single time I have my car towed to Tommy's garage he welcomes me in like we're old friends. I usually get a diagnosis and an estimate within the first half hour. Even when he's super busy. His pricing is always way lower than any other mechanic in our area and he never tries to upsell you or pressure you into getting more work done. The work is high quality and fast. A few years ago, I was on my way up from Sacramento to Amador County, and just outside of Rancho Murieta, my tailpipe started smoking. Too much oil. I at least got the car to Tommy's Garage in Ione, they drained the oil, put new oil in (correct amount, lol). I was going to be late for a meeting, so believe me, I was willing to pay whatever/any amount they required and then some...they ended up charging me something ridiculously low, like $10-12. I'm like, "What?!" They said, "Naw, it's all good." I got to my meeting just a few minutes late, but I want to thank Tommy's Garage for saving my butt that day. I could tell they were way busy when I pulled into their place, but that they took the time and could see that I was in a panic...well, that's just amazing, hometown, good, friendly service. I took my car to Tommys about a month ago to have the lower front engine mount replaced. Then I found the upper stabilizer torque mount busted the next day. They fixed it all but charged me for the upper mount that was clearly busted and all the bolts were loose. Then a week ago I hear this grinding noise underneath. I bring it in today to Midas and they found all the bolts for the power steering brackets loose or missing causing the power steering line to move freely and cause chafing of the line. Needless to say.... I will never go back to Tommy's Garage. Im contemplating suing them for damages. But I'm satisfied that this is good enough. read more

I took my truck to Tommy garage for repairs and they stated that the valve springs were broken and wanted $3400.00 so I had it tower to my regular shop and they found the cam phaser was bad and the valve srings were perfect. They did all the repairs for $1600.00 and now my truck run perfect. Tommy's also got a greasy oil all over my clothes seatsand i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TOMMY'S THEY ARE RIP OFFS. I took both my of my (old) vehicles to Tommy's 18+ months ago. A different shop quoted $3200 to replace the motor on the truck; Tommy charged me less than half of that! The warranty was good for 18 months. 17 months later I blew a gasket - Tommy fixed it as per the warranty with ZERO hassle. In Feb. 2015 I spent nearly $800 on the second vehicle to replace the water pump and serp/timing belts. MORE than 18 months passed...and the water pump failed (bad part, not labor). I was expecting Tommy to charge me something but even though it was no longer in warranty, he replaced the water pump at no charge, and again with ZERO hassle. I am really, really pleased with Tommy's honesty - his good reputation is well deserved. I really appreciate knowing I can have work done by an honest garage.I read more
