Matt is an absolute angel!!…read more The steep pitch of the Ichiban exit (yes I was driving at a normal speed and yes others have had the same trouble! - but no, the restaurant hasn't fixed it ) caused my car to bottom out and knocked my bumper RIGHT OFF!! We heard a bang and a scrape so immediately pulled over in to the first parking lot, which happened to be Vaughn's Automotive. We called the 24 hour emergency number and Matt came right over to help us! He patched us back together so we could safely drive until we can get a more full repair. He was competent, he was kind, he was helpful, and he was funny ... he took a bad situation and made it as good as we could've hoped for. This is a great and honest and kind man! You can feel confident about placing your trust in him! I drove from Rockford to visit my daughter and thanks to Matt, we still made it to line dancing!!

They went over the car from head to toe and made some fixes that were not crazy, but necessary. Not only did they do the work perfectly, but they told him to stop in before he left for them to check out the torque on the wheels free of charge. He's home safe and sound, and thanks to Vaughn's, his car made the long trek without fail. Thank you for the amazing customer service and care you provided for a loving father with his kid so far away.

If I could give this a negative star review, I would! Own a…read moreCadillac CRX that developed charging issues while shopping in Dubuque. The automotive department is a joke I was wondering why it is always empty and now I know why! The inexperienced Tech opens the hood of Cadillac CRX with a diagnostic tool in hand and turns to Matthew (the only other employee in that department) and asks "Where is the battery"?. Matthew continues to train the imbecile and constantly requests that I get seated inside. (Mind you, the car died right outside of their service door and insurance regulations did not apply for a customer to not be inside the service area). I inform them that I had a temporary burning smell prior to the charging issue but it did not smell of, or have the characteristics of a battery with a shorted cell. Please check the charging system! (I'm 63 and come from years of engineering and designing hi-current electrical). My back is finally giving out so I go seated inside. They came in minutes later to inform me it has a shorted cell and that the charging system is ok, All I need is a new battery.,, I reluctantly concede and purchase a battery to the tune of $150. I ask to discuss tire prices while we are waiting for the repair and was ignored. It was near closing time, -we LIVE 1HOUR AWAY and repeatedly tell this to Matthew. (we have a senior in a wheelchair at home and need to go home asap) Shortly thereafter his trainee comes in and said that the battery is installed. I asked about the charging system again, inform them again that we live 1 hour away and if it's not charging we will not make it home without stopping to charge it somewhere along the way, (and obviously have to buy a battery charger-another lost sale for Blains) and he responded: "well,.if it is not the battery,.. it's the alternator" and raced out the waiting area. (my wife held me back from getting out of the chair to confront him for fear of the police being involved). IS THAT NOT THE REASON FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO BEGIN WITH?? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING? We left and watched as the voltage constantly drop the entire stressful hour on the way home, We lost antilock, traction control and suspension assist 3 miles from home on icy/hilly roads in the dark of winter, windows were inoperable, and LUCKILY the headlights were still operable and waited to die until we hit our driveway. I am willing to bet that if I went back to that store, took my battery and charged it, then used a load tester, I would find that the battery is 100% ok. I wasted $150 and an hour of stress in my short life that I will never get back. If the car would have made it elsewhere, I would have been better off going to any auto parts store as they would have a better working knowledge of what a battery looks like.

It is also very clean and well organized. The associates were abundant and ready to help at a moments notice. Clothing, electronics, farm supplies, gardening essentials and tools can all be found in this store. There is a toy section as well, but that was not accessible just yet. The prices were exceptional for many of the items, so I definitely recommend visiting this new store!

All three parties dealt with this. All are trustworthy and told me it needed a minor repair like a muffler. Big A Auto told me the entire under area of car had been messed up from someone who didn't know what they were doing. He said it'd be $2,000 to fix it. At the time I thought maybe the college driver had let someone work on it so I paid it. My mistake as I didn't take time to think it thru. I know the folks I bought it from were honest and long time friends. Big A lied. They showed me of a fuzzy gray video t was supposed to be the problem area but of course it meant nothing to me and was just part of the deception. I will never go back to Big A again. Since I am an older woman needing the service I think they felt they could lie to me about the car.

And the heat sent working. 3 appt later and I still have no heat and the dash lights are still on. They literally charged me $1300 and replaced a brand new thermostat with a twice as expensive new Thermostat which was never the problem oh and they changed and charged me for WINDSHIELD WIPERS which I never ok'd or was even asked about. So because I'm a woman they bullshit me with "it's probably just a censor or something no big deal And when I ask questions they act like im crazy and causing a scene. Sometimes they even charge me just to look at the vehicle. well now they claim that my frame is rotted through funny you did the back brakes a year ago and mentioned zero about frames or rust. So they won't send me any pictures of said rust they neglected to mention. So I call to ask which part if it was the rear subframe that was the issue and they literally wouldnt answer me and told me to take it to another shop because they won't work on it. Gee so glad I drop $1000 every time for absolutely nothing! Still no heat and still have the brake lights on the dash. Don't waste your time on a lousy offer to refund the windshield wipers. they are overpriced and do half ass work then treat u like u r the problem because they don't listen or care about you and it is the most ridiculously expensive place but the only shop located downtown. I have taken 5 cars to them and they encourage me to junk them because they are too lazy to do the work and to do it right the first or second time so third times isn't a charm. they said I could go drive it for the next year yeah right so me and my kid can be on the highway and the frame fall off her thanks so does that make them liable for oyr lives and any property damage bc they were the only ones who I paid $1400 to fix my vehicle and they instead basically totaled it on me and blamed me for it. Well we barely had snow this winter and MY CAR HAS NO HEAT SO I COULDNT EVEN DRIVE IT THIS WINTER! and they still have never produced photos from any other visit although they claim the rust is much worse than last year and claim they sent them. So they send another message saying here's from last year and guess what the link wasn't to anything! They are full of shit to be charging me $1300 and telling me to take it to another shop and not answer a simple yea or no question about the sub frame. They claim to have some super diagnostic computer yet couldn't even figure out why the brake light and abs lights were on (Which is diagnostic obviousl so dont get ripped off and disrespected) take your car to a reputable auto shop who will work with you on price and will not do a worthless inspection on other stuff while not correcting the issue you are being over charged on parts and labor for. Even my alero brakes went out two days after they repaired the brakes. well This was the last second chance they get with me. U fortunately I will have to take my vehicles across town but if I'm getting actual customer service it's worth it. This place is a joke.

Unprofessional management & incompetent staff! The…read moreincompetency of the service staff was surpassed by managements' feeble attempt at customer satisfaction! A spur-of-the-moment decision for a Labor Day weekend trip led me to the Dubuque ExpertTire for a pre-trip oil change and multiple-point inspection. On the highway, five minutes into our trip I noticed white smoke in the review mirror then noticed the oil-pressure reading ZERO! I quickly decelerated from 70 mph and shut-it-down on the shoulder. A quick check under the hood revealed the oil filter was missing...and oil all over the place, including the sides and back of my Tahoe! I called "expert tire" and they said they would send a tow truck which I said I don't have time for that...all I likely need is someone to come out with more oil, a filter and towels to wipe the oil off the windows so I could continue our trip. After pleading with the condescending manager, she agreed to send someone (five miles). Perhaps sensing my frustration, upon arrival, the young man expediently and politely got my family back on the road. The manager told me to stop in after the trip and she would "make things right". What a joke! She gave me certificates for two free oil changes that expired at the end of the year ...and it was now September 6th! I just shook my head, walked out and threw the certificates in the trash. She lost a potential long-term customer and gains an increasingly bad reputation.
