The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.

Steve and his team replaced our tired old gas log fireplace with a new, beautiful, full-enclosure gas fireplace. From the beginning of the project until the end, Steve and his team were friendly, courteous, prompt to reply, and genuinely took pride in their work. Steve made sure that at the end of the project, he was there to ensure that the inspection passed without any issues. One of the fireplace boxes had some exposed metal where the black paint had worn off in a few areas - so he even went ahead and spray-painted those areas since I had a can of 1200-degree high-heat resistant black spray paint on hand. Spring 2026 job. Contracted to install a 2-sided fireplace in our master bedroom/bath. Took…read morelonger than predicted to get the product (mostly because we found out they didn't order everything initially), then multiple attempts to install it properly (which they only ceded blame upon failing the county inspection, which they initially blamed us for, rather than owning up to the poor installation quality). The "finish" work on the drywall was poorly done, with seams and tape clear visible through the joint compound--"we don't do finish work". While the contract said they didn't do "finish quality" work, you'd really expect at least a decent coat of joint compound over the proper Durock board. In-house communications is also not their strong suit...they never knew from day to day who was coming to do the work on our project and they were NEVER on time. Had to get the primary regional gas fireplace vendor to come in and do a second opinion on what went wrong on the inspection failure, because these guys couldn't even answer the simplest of questions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

It is not working well. I will not call them because they are unreliable. The reviews here are horrible. My remote is not working. The replacement logs look like they got them at Dollar Tree. The logs are the ugliest logs I have ever seen. I'm out $4,000.00 and will have to find someone to replace the junk that Home Living Fireplaces installed only five months ago. Sometimes, I hate contractors and the advantage they take of their customers for greed. It's as simple as that. Homeownership is not for the weak.
