two glasses of beer and a drink
    Rhonda F.

We stopped into O'Lacy's Pub late one night after dinner. I had just gotten into Summerville to visit a friend so I was glad to see more of this cute downtown. This pub has so much more character than I expected. It feels vintage and cozy. It's super clean and offers couch seating as well as traditional bar seating. There is even a jukebox. I love it. Our drinks and beer were ice cold and delicious. The bartender was nice but didn't offer up too much attention. That's ok. We still had a nice time. I would definitely stop in again for a casual evening the next time I visit my friend who lives in town.

Great little out of the way pub in Summerville. Nothing spectacular but quite cozy. Just go drink beer!!!

Just moved to Summerville and made it into O'lacy's Pub. Our bartender Hayley was very welcoming and gave a great drink recommendation.

Great locals place. In the middle of downtown Summerville, so pretty accessible. Great friendly staff.

Ordered the fish and chips. Tasted great. Would have been nice to have had one more piece of fish. The one I had was large but felt it was a small portion. Fries were good. This came as a nice discovery for me as I am new to the area and still learning where the hot spots are. Inside, the restaurant feels like a traditional Irish pub: dark wood, very dim-lit, regulars pooled around the bar, weird little corners and nooks everywhere. Our server was as nice as can be. Can't go wrong with the Fried Pickles, they hit the spot and were not too breaded. Fries were great. We all ordered the Shepherd's Pie, served with a side of Irish soda bread, each $18. For what you get, I feel it's a little steep. The angus beef was seasoned and cooked beautifully, very moist and not dry at all. However, all three of our meals mostly consisted of mashed potatoes on top and an off-ratio of angus beef on the bottom. It felt unbalanced and did not have nearly enough meat, and all of us had the same experience. The potatoes were dry and not particularly impressive; I expected more from a place billed as a traditional Irish restaurant. Given that I came with two others and we all ordered the same thing, though, I didn't get to try more of their menu and I wouldn't be opposed to going back to try more items on the menu. Maybe it's just not the best thing they have.

Such a cute area with boutiques, bakery/coffee shops and restaurants. I was excited for, craving and hoping for fish and chips and they did not disappoint! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful pictures of Ireland's landscape in the dinning area adjacent to the bar room. Great cocktail, wine and beer menu. We had EXCELLENT meals...pot roast and fish and chips! I enjoyed ( never had one before ) an Irish martini.

Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

And don't forget the cockroach for the win. I have mixed feelings .. because it could be a great . Maybe get an exterminator.

The drinks are priced on the higher end, but the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere makes it feel approachable. We also love that they offer seasonal and holiday cocktails, which is right up our alley. We brought Luna along and sat on the patio, which was a nice option. I would love to see heaters added outside to make the patio more comfortable on cooler nights. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Fireside Chat (served warm), made with Four Roses Bourbon, Croft Tawny Port, apple cider, orange juice, grenadine, turbinado sugar, allspice, and clove ($15). I really enjoyed the flavor profile--warm, well-balanced, and perfect for the season. That said, I was a little disappointed that my second drink wasn't garnished nearly as nicely as the first, especially given the price. Flavor-wise, though, both were very good. My husband started with the Gingersnap, which includes Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch whisky, Disaronno almond liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, spiced ginger syrup, heavy cream, Angostura bitters, cookie rim, and nutmeg ($16). He enjoyed it but felt it was definitely a one-drink cocktail due to how sweet, creamy, and heavy it was. He also ordered the Smoked Maple-Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon fat-washed bourbon, spiced maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and a salted brown sugar rim ($16). This one was a miss for him--too sweet, with the maple and smoke overpowering the drink, and not much bacon flavor coming through. That said, the presentation was excellent; watching the smoke being lit was a highlight, and I even grabbed a video of it. Our total came to about $71 before tip, and we didn't order any food, so it's definitely on the pricier side. Still, for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and overall experience, I think it's worth it--especially for a relaxed night out with a more elevated feel.
