Not sure why this place has such bad ratings but it's great. The interior is super cool and cozy. The menu is amazing!! They have such a great selection of fall specials and they even have stuff like frozen / blended coffee drinks. It's a great place to sit and work or hang out with friends. They have good food too. Highly recommend

I've only been here a few times, the staff is always super friendly. Vibes are nice, and get me hyper focused on my work. They're also very accommodating on the foods that aren't premade so I highly recommend swinging by. I do have social anxiety, and like going up to the counter knowing what I want so I'm posting clearer photos of the menu for those like me

This review is for the O'Henry's Healthy Way location in Vestavia. I've been here a few times but today was a "meh" experience. First the good... the location is convenient to the Colonnade and all the new development around Cahaba River Road. The atmosphere is spacious, nice, and a good place for hanging out with friends or working. The staff is friendly and service pretty good. The bad... 2 main things. The coffee and the price. While O'Henry's is a good roaster, the drink execution was poor. My latte that came out lukewarm at best. Not cool for a chilly January afternoon. Also, a medium latte for $5.33? Seriously? O'Henry's is totally guilty of price creep, and it's at all locations. I suspect that after their sale a couple years ago they're trying to squeeze out additional profits for the investors, but they're sacrificing quality and competitiveness. With Innova right around the corner and apparently a new Santos popping up nearby, both with arguably as good or better coffee and at a lower price point, they really need to up their game.

Had two oat milk Lattes and a cookie. Pastry was good and the lattes came out fast. Inside of the store and the bathrooms were clean.

Seating: Both inside and outside seating. Great for groups and patio seating outside to keep you dry. Vibes: It's in a plaza, maybe 10 minutes away from Downtown Birmingham. The plaza consists of restaurants, a gym, and a grocery store. The spot itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. A great place to hang out with friends or be friends. FOOD: Peppermint Boba (Recommend) A seasonal drink that was a pleasant delight. The peppermint wasn't too strong, it was well balanced with milk and the boba was chewy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! The store opened and there was a rush of 3 customers. The kid in front took care of it well. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Great! This is a solid enough representation of boba so it's glad to be shared here in the Dirty South! The prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and I appreciated the range/variety they provided. For those craving a boba fix, be sure to check this place out! Shoutouts to Ashley and Tam Duong for bringing this delight to Alabama and best wishes to new owner, Hugo Anguiano, and his team on this business. It ended up being perfect--sweet but not overly sweet, and really flavorful. I also signed up for their rewards program and got $5 off my first order, which was a nice bonus. I originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice, but ended up sitting inside. Next time I'll try to get there earlier to grab an outdoor spot. Parking is pretty tight--the front lot is small--but I was lucky to find a spot, and I noticed some people parked on the surrounding streets. Nevertheless, we sat at one of the high tables and enjoyed our coffees. I noticed that they had one of the machines that dispense little art prints (Inciardi ?) but signs said they were out of stock. Too bad because they're very popular in New England and I had a great time searching for these machines and seeing what prints I'd get. I've started a collection. I'll come again for coffee, and hopefully will get pastries, and art prints.

This was the first location of Baba Java and has since expanded through the city. Ran my Omani entrepreneurs, this little coffee shop became quite popular over the years. The staff working here are mostly teenagers or college students, who are very attentive and professional despite their young age. The owner clearly picked out incredible folks to be here who make Baba Java feel both welcoming and well kept. The interior of the space is fairly basic coffee shop design, but admittedly, a little bit dated in 2026 and lacks the unique vibe of some other independent coffee shops. Window views facing the strip mall parking lot don't create much of an ambiance either. With that said, design is not the main thing to come here for. The coffee is excellent and priced very reasonably, offering a great value for an establishment of this sort. There is easy to access WiFi and an overall feeling of being welcomed. A solid little coffee shop that allows customers to support some local business owners instead of a big chain.

I ordered the soba noodle bowl with cilantro avocado slaw. It's a bit spicy but i'd say that spice is more for the flavor and not unbearable, i don't like spicy at all but i'll tolerate this. The noodle bole includes low mean noodles, peanuts, red pepper flakes and can add chicken for an additional charge. It's right around $9.00 and again, for the amount of food, i'd probably want to just go to a restaurant and pick up take out so i wouldn't be hungry after the meal.
