So over the past couple of years I've given this place a couple more tries. Especially when the moved to downtown Bartlett. It really is hit or miss. I really like the idea of a neighborhood Irish place so close. Good place to come for a drink or 4. The food is decent. Although I am concerned when I look at the menu and there a number of things crossed out with a sharpie marker. I mean it's ok if they are getting ready for a menu overhaul but it looks tacky or it tells me they aren't successful on the food side. read more

I am a SPED teacher and my students have the opportunity to go on community days once a month. My students and I had the most fabulous time today on a CBI trip to O'Hare's/Midway Landing Bowling Alley! The owner Peggy and all of the staff were so helpful, accommodating, and worked hard to make this a successful trip for my kiddos. They opened early for us, set aside as many lanes as we needed, had refreshments ready with straws for all of my kiddos, served us delicious pizza, and they made it so that all students were able to bowl!!!! Midway Landing is so accessible, loving of people of all abilities, and such a great place to stop by for all occasions. My favorite place to go on all of Bartlett for great food and drinks, and somehow an even better staff. read more

The food here is sooooo good. Everything is fresh and homemade- even the dressings! I had some wings and they were great size and quality. They were also on special when I went, so it made it an even better deal. I was only disappointed by the service. There were only two people working on a bears sunday. Our waitress was newer and probably shouldn't have been by herself yet. She forgot parts of our order and failed to describe dishes accurately. I wouldn't say this is her fault as much as management for letting her be by herself when she maybe wasn't fully comfortable yet. In the mood for a drink, a full meal, or just an appetizer? They have it. (Could use some chips, nuts, or pretzels). Only down side is food timing. Appetizers come out with the entree. Their bartender is a real winner. Tall guy, beard, real winner. Me and my girl sat down and there was maybe 10 people in the place. The bartender seen us walk in, kept eating his food, wiped his face, took a drink of his water, then... patted his face dry then went back to eating. NEVER acknowledged us! I like to support local business so I went bowling at Midway Landing Bowling Alley/O'Hare's. The prices are a little high compared to other bowling in the surrounding area, but it's new and close by so I didn't mind paying a little more. However, when I was given my credit card receipt, it showed an additional 4% charge. I asked the lady at the counter what this is for and I was told it was a fee charged by the credit card company. She made it sound like she had no idea what it was for. Apparently Midway is passing on the credit card fee to the customer, which is fine if that is what they want to do and they think it is good for business, but the staff should advise customers of this in advance that there is a 4% fee for using a credit card instead of just sneaking it in and hoping the customers don't notice. read more

I came here the other day for lunch with a friend and we both were impressed with the service as well as our meals! Neither of us expected the generous portions!! My friend had the beef sliders, which looked and smelled delicious. I ordered the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised by the two deliciously large pieces of fish and the fries that were more than enough for two people to share. We both wound up with food to take home to enjoy later. Added bonus, they had the Cubs game on and a replay of one of the Stanley Cup Playoff games on another television. O'Hares is the best and our go-to, especially when we have guests in town! I just celebrated my birthday here yesterday, and my hubby and his pals celebrated there the night before our wedding. I was very excited about this pub opening in Bartlett. Upon waking in for this first time on Sunday I felt that the atmosphere was good overall.. While there we decided to order the hot wings from Kyle that day. Once the wings came out they were completely inedible. Now I am someone who eats habanero peppers whole and I couldn't stomach the hotness of these wings. I let Kyle know that they were terrible and I couldn't eat them. His response was "yeah I think they were hot also, I should have told you". I assumed given that I only ate one and spoke to the waiter that these would be taken off the bill. Nope I was charged for them. Tonight we decided to give them another chance and went in for the all you can eat fish fry. The fish itself was good, but I was disappointed yet again by O'hara's for being charged extra for tartar sauce! Who has an all you can eat fish fry and then charges for tartar sauce. To be honest after seeing this charge we decided to leave and go to McMaes... So the extra $1 for tartar sauce actually cost you another $50-60 in drinks that we would of stayed and had. O'hara's you would have gotten 5, stars but I will now forever tell people my story of disappointment. read more

Hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Pretzel roll was fresh and doughy fantastic. The burger was delicious we had build your own and got there on Thursday so I was half price. Bonus. Sweet potato fries some of the best I've ever had. Everything came up piping hot and fresh. Our waiter was spunky and fun. Highly efficient. Great Irish menus. I've had the boxty before that was okay. Shepherd's pie is my next try. 5 for bread 4 for circuses. We tried O'Hare's and could not be happier. We have dined at O'Hare's twice having a different menu item each time. Both visits were excellent. The atmosphere is like a neighborhood bar as you would expect. However the food is way better that typical bar food. I know this restaurant moved from another location in Bartlett and we are happy they did. I had the pulled pork sandwich with Sweet Potato Fry's. Both great. My wife had a Black & Blue Burger with a salad. (Lo Carb) great as well. My reviews are relative to the type of restaurant I am reviewing. The first time we went to this location, we left so happy. My fish was awesome, the fries were great and I had the most phenomenal potato leek soup I've ever had. We returned a few weeks later and actually had to ask if they had gotten a new chef because every single thing we ordered tasted different. The creamy light potato leek soup I had a few weeks before was a dark brown slop.... my waitress argued with me when I asked if they had changed something- i sent it back to the kitchen because it wasn't what I was expecting. My boyfriend ordered a burger with avocado and cheese- neither of which were on his burger but he realized it when it was nearly gone. We also ordered an extra side of fries that was never brought to the table. Unfortunately, we were charged for all of those things and the our waitress did not seem to understand or care that we had an unpleasant experience or the fact that we were being charged for food we were never served. She went in the back to talk with the manager who wouldn't not just come out and speak with me him/herself, our waitress came out and handed me a single dollar bill? We live locally and I wasn't interested in arguing over a few dollars. The situation was very odd but I was a little dumbfounded and left. Lastly, A few weeks ago we went to meet a friend for happy hour appetizers because we heard about their great half off special. I wanted to like this place because it was all shiny and new, but I'm not really sure what all the hype is about. Our experience was awful from the very start with the hostess to the last end with a manager. The hostess had an attitude from the beginning stating we couldn't have certain tables because they were reserved... as the night went on tables only became more available and no parties walked in for reservations.... so that was clearly a lie. I will say the ciderboys strawberry magic did take me by surprise and it was refreshing. Our server was ok. No one really liked their entrees, I had a salad, but how hard is it to make a salad.. we did have a question about one of the food items and the manager sat down at our table and took off her mask ??? Why ? I don't know. This place may be a new location, but I expected more. Needless to say we won't be returning. read more

The service and atmosphere were solid, and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I tried the Celtic chicken strips, angus beef sliders, wings, and french fries. The chicken strips were wonderfully crunchy, the sliders were perfectly cooked to medium, as ordered, the wings weren't as crispy as I would have liked, but they were still quite good, and the hot buffalo sauce they were drenched in was great. The fries were also decent, and at $2.50 for a generous serving, well worth it. The pub makes their dressings in house, and it shows. The ranch dressing is spot on, and while I usually do not like blue cheese dressing, theirs is probably the best I've ever had (you can skip the honey mustard dressing tho, as it is so-so). My only real complaint is that beers were quite slow to arrive, as the waitstaff had to order drinks from the bar, and the bartender, who didn't appear to be busy herself, very much took her time filling the servers' drink orders. read more

We have been here a few times now since moving to downtown Bartlett recently, and each visit has been outstanding. The service is fast and the staff is extremely attentive and friendly! Even when we went during the busiest time (Friday night Happy Hour) our server kept our waters full and the drinks coming. The food came out unbelievably fast as well! Our server even made sure to stop by our table a few minutes before Happy Hour was over and ask if we wanted to put in another round at the discounted price. The fare is pretty basic American bar food but the execution is on point. The burgers have been cooked perfectly to order every time we've been here. I give this place 5 stars cause of the location, the ambiance, the service, the atmosphere, and the food. I have actually only been here for dinner and lunch, never to imbibe, so I can't say much for that. But it's actually a decent place to come with kids. They have crayons and kid cups. How many pubs have that? I'll tell you not a lot. They have a small kids meal menu which is good enough. The food is good. It's not the best Irish food I've ever had, but it is pretty good. Sometimes the food is a little salty, but that's just how it goes sometimes. This time I had a hankering for some corned beef and cabbage. It was pretty good. A little different than what I usually have, but not bad. Oh they have poutine! It's hard to find poutine outside of Montreal/Quebec. And usually it's not good. But it's good here. The gravy is tasty, the cheese is good and the fries too. Maybe a little more gravy would be nice. It's a great place, and I'll be back. read more

I am quickly becoming a big fan of O'Hare's! Let's start with the positives, shall we? 1. The location is great! Located in Bartlett at the corner of Army Trail Road and Route 59. 2. The owners are always present and engaged! Bill and his wife, Peggy, are super sweet and truly concerned about your experience. Plus, they're funny. So, if your dining/drinking mates bore you...they will make up for it. 3. Paul is a very knowledgeable bartender. He works side by side with Bill, but Paul likes to throw in a little flair from time to time. And he will mix up something special from his previous bar life if you ask nicely. My cousin isn't a beer girl and didn't feel like wine, so she asked for something sweet but not too sweet and Paul creatively won her over. She doesn't like people, but she did like Paul. ;-) 4. The burgers. I really liked my last burger here. It was juicy and hand packed. I almost didn't try it, but I'm glad I did. 5. Boxty. Have you tried boxty? It's like a thin potato pancake like crepe filled with...I had mine filled with the Guinness stew. It was exceptional! 6. The bathrooms. Neat and tidy. No complaints here. 7. The other patrons. We have been here for all different occasions including St Patrick's Day Weekend. Everyone is friendly. No one annoyed me or was rude. 8. It's a happy place. I feel happy when I visit even though it's a bit darker and a pub atmosphere. I think it's the people that keep it upbeat. 9. My husband likes the meatloaf. I tasted it and it was very good, but the more important part is that this means I don't have to make meatloaf. 10. They have a little bit of everything for everybody. The pulled pork sandwich was good, corned beef boxty good but slightly cold. Unfortunately our appetizer was going to be served the same time as our meal....major left down ! The large pretzel with beer cheese sauce looked great. They do have specials . Saturday night was 50 cent wings. I think Thursday is half price burgers. The place has a lot of TV's to watch sporting events. I didn't care to sit two feet away from another table but it was crowded at 6:00 pm on a Saturday. They do have 10+ beers on tap and a lot of different bottled craft beers. The bartender was very attentive ..we had to wait 10-15 mins for a table. Average age of this establishment was 30+ and a great addition to the town of Bartlett. We will return but maybe go earlier before they are too busy. read more

We entered as Grouponers and left customers. I can't remember the exact deal we snagged on Groupon, but it was around a 50% discount. I've lived nearby for years and never noticed the place, and this was the perfect opportunity to give it a shot. First off, pretzel buns. That made the decision for me. I couldn't decide which burger I wanted but I'm always up for the unconventional and went for the Brie & Pear. I didn't regret that for a second, it was delicious! Timothy M. went crazy for his Pub Burger and the ultimate Jameson sauce. I can't deny that I stole some for my fries, it was outstanding! Very friendly local spot, our server was very nice and offered suggestions on the menu since we've never been. I had the chicken boxty, let me tell you...delicious! I ate about half of it and my boyfriend just about finished it after having his bbq pork burger. The burger he said was delicious as well. Oh! We had the cheesy spinich dip as an appetizer, so good! This is place is close to home for us so we hit it every now and then. This will be a relatively short review, at least for me, as most of "O'Hares Pub and Restaurant" is pretty self-explanatory. So, yeah, it's an Irish Pub and Eatery. There's gonna be Harp, Guinness, Jameson's and the other magic potions that seem to represent the Emerald Isle nearly as well as the Lucky Charms guy. I haven't asked about aged Jameson's or other fine whiskies, but I will next time to see if they've got that covered. I like that aged stuff. I'm getting all saliverated just thinking about a couple of finger's worth in a short glass and a side of ice water. And I know "saliverated" is not a word, but it should be, so it stays. Anyhow, back to this review. It's clean, the folks are friendly and there is a lot of Irish fare on the menu. As others have said, the burgers are excellent, but everything else I've gotten has been beyond decent. For bar food, it's excellent. In reality, it's not bar food. They've got the typical bar food also, wings, chips, yada, yada, so don't worry that those things aren't there either. It's just that the entrees consistently rise above that standard. I guess that's my only thing with this place and it's not even really a criticism. I'm not sure if it wants to be a bar or a restaurant, but I think it does the bar/casual eatery thing pretty well, so I'm not going to mess with their mojo. I haven't wandered into the video gaming area, as that's not my thing, but if it's yours, rock on. I'm going to say again, the food is excellent for a bar/pub. You can get a pint anywhere, but this type of really good food at a pub is rare. Get on over there and show these guys some love. Not sure what to say. Most of the yelp reviews were either great, with a few hate, but decided to give it a try--especially cause hubby wanted a good burger--and they claim to have the best in Bartlett. Waitress was so sweet, but seemed to be distracted (?) most the time, though not sure why as we appeared to be her only table. Hubby knew exactly what he wanted to drink, so told the waitress and she began typing on her handheld. The kid and I were undecided, so asked if they had a drink menu or any specialties. "No". OK. So we asked if they had specific types of liquors but she wasn't sure. So asked if they had ginger beer. "Yep" OK, what kind? She had no idea. Tried playing clue, "is it in a blue bottle", no. "A yellow can?" No. Etc.... I then found Crabbies on the beer list and said maybe Crabbies? "Yeah, I think that's what we have." So we decided on same drink for each of us, as in two Moscow Mules. Waitress was still busy typing away on her handheld, but before she left the table, turned to hubby (and only decisive person on what to drink) and asked "what did you order, cause I forgot." OK, I can understand, sort of, but what was she so busy typing all this time? Drinks promptly arrived but there were only two. Waitress then asked me if I had decided what I wanted to drink. Kinda disgusted, I smiled and pointed at the drink she put in front of the kid (and I had ordered) and said "same". We ordered some apps. Read reviews on how awesome the reuben balls were, so had to try, along with onion rings and the spinach cheese dip. None were anything to get giddy over. Reuben balls were ehh, not bad, over fried, and not noteworthy, although the kid liked them enough to order more (after looking at the dinner menu, he and I decided to have just apps.) At least there were three Reuben balls to an order so everyone got one--and with a second order two (or however they were divided up). Onion rings were onion rings, crispy, not greasy and a good amount of them. Spinach cheese dip was also ok, but chips were ?homemade?, very greasy, very crispy (over fried) and very few. Actually not enough to get 1/2 way thru the dip--and trust me I am a heavy dipper that prefers dip on my chips versus a chip with a dainty bit of dip--so requested more chips. At this point hub decided not to order dinner here either, so chose to order the slider app--that way hub could get his burger (and everyone else as there were three to the order.) When they arrived we found them to be a sort of smart/efficient (?) use of product in these covid times. They were actually a burger that had been cut into quarters. As there were only 3 sliders the joke was made as to where was, or who got the fourth piece--there were more answers than the three of us!!! Unfortunately the sliders were super dry and overcooked. We also understand that this is covid time, so plastic and paper is the new go to. But when using plastic utensils, at least don't totally cheap out on them. These were totally useless. So it was damage time. When we received the bill we sorta were floored. $120 for drinks, bar apps and no dinner. Granted we each had 2 drinks for a total of 6, so $75 for 6 cocktails isn't that outrageous, nor completely out of line. But it was the way they were billed that seemed really weird for moscow mules and a brandy Manhattan....4 grey goose (yes we requested goose) $30, moscow mule $10--$40, 4 drinks with ?premium? vodka-reasonable; 2 christian bros brandy (didn't request a particular brandy) $13, Manhattan $4 and rocks $7--$24 for 2 manhattans. But seriously $7 for ice??? Hubby asked if he could return the unmelted rocks left in his glass for a refund! Pricing not that bad, just the visual on the bill was horrible. The next kicker was that we were charged $2.50 for the necessity of more chips to finish the dip. Would not have minded paying that. It is that we were NOT told there would be an additional charge. Not huge amount of money, not gonna put us into poverty. However not at least telling us was not only infuriating but unacceptable. At least we did our part to help out a local business during this time of covid...even though none of us live anywhere near Bartlett. Even left a much more than necessary tip, considering the food quality....cause times are tough for these workers. IF we try O'Hare's again, the lesson for us will be: when going to an Irish pub, stick with beer and corned beef! read more

We live in the area but don't go to downtown Bartlett very often. That will definitely change! We stopped in to O'Hare's Pub last night on the recommendation of a Bartlett resident because I didn't want to cook. BOTH my husband and I were very pleased with our food. I am a fish person but don't like fried. This is the ONLY place I have ever encountered that offered to cook the fish "pan seared" when you order fish and chips. It was amazing. My husband tried one of their Irish dishes and loved it as well. Almost better than our food...............Liz, our waitress.
