Since it had been so long since my last review, it wasn't even at the location O'Hare's is currently. This location is bigger than it looks, it's really nice inside. They have a good size menu with something for anyone. I have seen burgers go by and they always look really good, so this time I ordered one. I got the O'Hare's pub burger....since it was my first one, I wanted to try their signature burger. First we got the Green Bean fries, which I think we have gotten every time we have been there. They are really good, always perfectly cooked and crispy. It was very cold out so I wanted to get some soup, I tried the potato leek, very good, the crispy leeks on the top really elevated it. My wife got the Peggies salad, very fresh and well constructed, the sliced pears were crisp and ...fresh. The thing that first struck me on my burger was how perfectly cooked it was, that doesn't happen at many places. It was a perfect pink center medium. It had a lot of flavor and was juicy, but not to the point of making it a big soggy mess. The onion straws provided some crunch, the bacon had good flavor and the Jalapenos were like candied, it was a really good burger. I got tots as I normally do but the pictures of their fries lead me to believe I need to try them next time. Everything we get is always good, they have great specials and a pretty good beer list. Came out to O'Hare's Pub for their Friday Happy Hour. O'Hares is an Irish Pub adjacent to the Midway Bowling Alley. They have a ton of tv screens which was perfect for March Madness. They also have slot machines, darts, and pool tables. The happy hour specials are VERY value driven! My partner and I both got Rail Drinks and split an appetizer. The beer nuggets were simple but good and a large sharing portion. The bartender Melanie was very personable; she was hustling while still making small talk with guests and had some great menu recommendations. We loved the neighborhood locals vibe, the value driven menu, and sports bar/pub atmosphere. We will be seeing you again soon enough O'Hare's! read more

Went on a Friday for Happy Hour (3-6 pm) for drink specials and a few appetizers. Started with a 2.00 Miller Lite draft and my wife had a Tall Rum and Coke. Beer was only 2.00 and mixed drinks were 3.50. A great deal these days! Started with the chicken wings 6 for 5.00. Came with a side of ranch dressing and carrots and celery. Had the Jameson Whiskey sauce which was a sweet BBQ. The wings were juicy and meaty. Also tried the Green Bean Fries for 5.00 which also came with a side of ranch for dipping. Cooked fresh and not greasy. We ordered the Dublin Totchos off the regular menu (16.00) which is their take of Irish Nachos. Basically tater tots topped with smoked cheese sauce,ground beef shepherd's pie mix,onions and Guinness BBQ sauce. Very tasty but a little overpriced in my opinion. Our server Jacob was very good. This is a big pub! It's bigger than it looks from the outside. It's also attached to a bowling alley(also very large), which is really cool! There's a really cute outdoor seating area in the front right before you walk in near the entrance. Great place to hangout in the summer. The service was good. We were only there for a bit, but definitely plan on returning soon! I have yet to try their food- I will update my review next time I'm there! read more

The pub is larger than you think. It shares space with a game / bowling alley. There was probably about 30 people in the restaurant with us we were all separated at least one big table between us. There are lots of TVs to watch the game and they also have music playing pretty loud but not enough to hurt your ears. We ordered the Dublin Nachos appetizer. They put a little too much barbecue sauce on it, but they were still very tasty. I would eat them again and maybe ask for the sauce on the side. My husband ordered the Hangover Burger prepared medium rare. The eggs were firmer then he prefers because he likes the yolks a little runny . I ordered the pan seared fish dinner, I chose salad for my side with blue cheese dressing. It was very fresh and delicious. The fish was so flaky that I could not pick it up without it falling apart. I wish they would have served it with a lemon slice and some tarter sauce but it was really yummy. I am sure we will be back in a couple of months. read more

A fine Irish Pub owned by a great couple and the place to hang out in downtown Bartlett. Our book club met here and we were greeted like family. I ordered a gluten free beer and Peggy's Salad which was fresh and crisp with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The chicken fingers looked good with honey mustard. Many Irish specialities and great burgers and sandwiches as well as daily food and drink specials are offered. They have video slots and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I've lived in a Bartlett for a sneeze over a year and have only been to O'Hare's once. I know, I know... how dare I. It's just how the cookie has crumbled. BUT I'll definitely be back! Pinky swear. And when I do, I'll update my review accordingly. Until then, let me share about my one and only O'Hare-venture... My friend and I were hungry and looking for an ice cold beer on a hot day. Where else would one go other than an Irish pub?! It was fairly busy, quite loud (well it is a bar after all) and the sun was beaming in through the propped open door. (Am I setting the scene yet?) We plopped our keesters whenever we wanted and were greeted shortly thereafter. We promptly ordered our beers so we could sip while we reviewed the menus. We weren't hungry enough to indulge in an appetizer, so we each ordered an entree. Having never heard of or eaten one, we each opted for a boxty - Her the Gaelic steak and mine the chicken. Be forewarned, these are huge!! But the flavor is sooo good!! I had a bite of hers and it was ever so delicious. The chicken was creamy and amazing. Calvin was a great bartender... it was nice talking to him, he gave great food recommendations, and checked in to make sure everything was good frequently! my brother ordered garlic parmesan and hot buffalo wings which were perfectly cooked.... dry rub, not greasy, and fresh! great quality ... will definitely order again! I wish I didn't have to rate it so lowly because I really wanted to like the place. I've been to every location each time it moved and the quality always takes a step down. First off, there's no kids menu which I can only believe Is intentional since they have chocolate milk and those little jungle cups for kids. But instead of a kids menu they tell you you can order off the appetizers menu. So instead of spending 4-6 bucks on a kids meal you are pretty much forced to spend $13 on 4 sliders (which is really the only thing a kid will eat from it). Why they can't cut 4 slider to 2, charge half and put it on a kids menu is beyond me except they want the money. We started with the nachos. Honestly I thought they were some of the worst I ever had. The beef tasted like it was sprinkled with some powder like chili or cumin and it was weird. It also had peas in it. I feel pretty certain it was just Shepard's Pie meat they threw on nachos. The cheese also looked like the dipping cheese for a pretzel. Another 14 bucks wasted. My wife got the Thai Salad with Chicken FOR $17.00!!!!! That's a ridiculous price point for a salad that at BEST cost $3 bucks to make, 4 at the outside. My wife said it looked like it had quality ingredients but was just ok. I didn't realize I was at the Signature Room in Chicago with that price for a salad. I got the Ruben. Again, not very good. The corned beef was sliced a bit too thick for my liking (and admittedly I'm being a snob), but it did taste good. The biggest problem was there was only a thin film of dressing on it (I think), and no sauerkraut I could see (look at the pictures). I ate half and was done so kudos I guess for not making me waste calories. I tried the sliders which were good, it maybe a tiny bit tasteless. Service was great, way above average so props to Elizabeth. As you'll see from our bill, two glasses of wine, an appetizer, dinner for two adults and a child and tip was $100!!! And the only thing worth it was the tip! Like I said, I really wanted to like this place because it's super close, and every thing I hear says the owners are good people. But I can't recommend it with below average food and $100 bill. As it stands it's 4th out of 5 place for places to eat in Bartlett Plaza (don't worry Pasta Mia, you're still the worst). read more

This was our first visit and we were doing lunch. We went with the wraps since they are the Monday special. Pretty good, but in time I want to try other menu items. Lots of things looked interesting. The service could not have been better or friendlier. I bet this place is a blast in the evening when there's a sporting event happening. Next time I want to eat and bowl. Nice set up. read more

Picked up an order consisting of their Garlic Cobb Salad-$13; Vegetable Boxty-$13; and 4 pieces of beer battered cod from, "Sides-$16." The salad was beautifully made, however, much of the romaine was rusty with a couple slimy pieces and baby corn was missing (if this was due to current supply chain issues, I should have been notified. The boxty was what was expected though a bit uninspired (maybe a sauce would help) and lastly the, "side fish one piece," were $4 each, they SHOULD be described as a, "fish finger," or a, "fish strip," as each was a piece the size of a fish stick (inch longer?) though BEAUTIFULLY fried. The service was good, pick up easy and the inside looked nice and clean with a good set up. I went here for a benefit and decided to eat in their dining room. My friends and I ordered our dinner. My friend's food was served and I waited for my food. Asked the waitress where my order was and she didn't know but would check. Came back ten minutes later and stilled didn't know where my food was. Then she brought me French fries which I refused as I don't eat fried food. Never explained the delay with my food. I told the waitress if I didn't get served in five minutes I was leaving. My friends asked for a manger. The manager came by and said she didn't have time to talk to us right now. As I was getting up to walk out my food was served and the manager came over. As I was waiting 45 minutes to get my food, I was so hungry I decided I would eat the meal (corned beef and cabbage). The manager explained they were very busy and they accidentally gave my meal to someone else. They knew with benefit they would be extra busy but failed to put extra staff on the schedule. They told me all sorts of excuses. The service was unacceptable. I found others had also waited too long for their food. I will not be back to this establishment. The food was fair, nothing outstanding. Menu was limited. I was not informed of the delay or given a chance to order anything else. They did take 50% off my food without my asking. Some friends and I popped into O'Hare's Pub to sample their food and have a few drinks. Overall it was a so-so visit. One of my friends lives not too far from here and when he shared that a new spot had opened in downtown B-town we figured we should check it out. It isn't a big place, with the bar dominating a majority of the inside, but there are a handful of tables at which you can post up. There are several TVs and the background music is just kind of there, none of the décor or atmosphere jumped out in a good or bad way. The menu is small but carries all the standard "Irish" pub-style food. Naturally I had the wings (my litmus test for any bar), which were decent, and the fish and chips, which was tasty, and the rest had an assortment of things. All the food came out hot, tasted fine, and were decently sized (portions). Our waiter, however, could not wait to get us out of there. I guess we hit it pretty late for food or something (we were there at 8:00p on a Friday) but it seemed we were his last table before everything switched over to the bar. Needless to say, he made it VERY obvious that he was ready for us to close out our checks. Ok, fine, you don't want any additional cash in your pocket? No biggie. We finished our drinks and left - continuing our beverage consumption elsewhere. This spot is meh. It's about what I'd expect for downtown Bartlett but I did have high hopes. I have had several meals and drinks at O'Hare's. It's okay. My last meal there was a Black 'N' Blue Burger with fries. I was offered a pretzel bun and ordered that, but still got the regular brioche bun. No biggie, so I didn't complain. My burger was okay, but seems the seasonings and bleu cheese were off to one side of the burger, which meant my last bite was super salty while the rest was not seasoned. Again, it was edible, just nothing to write home about. I kind of wish they had more craft beer variety, but I usually manage to find something acceptable to drink anyway. Staff seem a bit too busy to be personable, especially at dinner time. It could be a fun place to hang out and have a meal and a drink with some local friends, if only the quality and service were just a bit better. Delish!! Started with the cabbage rolls/balls, weren't very warm, but tasted good. Only get 3 with your order. Was not impressed with tge cabbage soup, felt it was quite bland. Than tried the Sheppard pie, loved that it was more stew like with huge chuncks of veggies and not to salty (bc alot of places make it very salty)-very satisfied. Than went with the steak boxty....awesome. Steak was nice and juicy, melted in your mouth. Loved the mushroom gravy smothered all over it. Only downside was the ratio of boxty to meat. Unless you want to waste your entire day here, pass. Our server had no idea what she was doing and no one else would help her. She put in our order wrong, ignored our table multiple times, and had no idea what actually came with our order. We arrived at noon for a quick bite and ended up trapped here for over 1.5 hours!! We were sad to see Sheep & Fiddle close so it was nice to have O'Hare's Pub open in the same location with pretty much the exact same menu, which is a mouth-watering mix of "elevated" pub food (Brie & Drunken Pear Burger anyone? It's delicious!) & Irish favorites. We paid them an inaugural visit for the Hawks season opener. And just like the previous establishment the interior is also pretty much the same - they have plenty of flat-screen TV's all around so it was easy to watch the game wherever you sit AND they play the game audio as well, which is a must for me if I'm going out primarily to watch the game. They have various drink and food specials each day and Thursdays are 1/2 price Build-Your-Own-Burger night. Hubby had the burger special and their burgers are HUGE. He tried the house made chips which were some of the best house made chips we've ever had. I had the Cork Reuben which wasn't as jam-packed with corned beef as at other places but it was still plenty & honestly more of a normal serving size of meat for a sandwich anyway - and very good. Their french fries have a sprinkling of rosemary on them, which is my favorite way to enjoy french fries, so I was a happy camper. They were very busy before the game with families, couples and a full bar of patrons and during the first period with just the bartender (perhaps he is the owner/manager) & one server waiting on all the tables (this is exactly the same situation we had our first visit to Sheep & Fiddle as well) but they were both very nice & and apologized for any delays we experienced, but it wasn't bad (a third employee appeared to tend bar at some point). They mostly have hightops and the bar area to sit but there are a handful of lower tables in the main dining area as well. Oh, and they have Wednesday Night Trivia, too. :-D read more

So over the past couple of years I've given this place a couple more tries. Especially when the moved to downtown Bartlett. It really is hit or miss. I really like the idea of a neighborhood Irish place so close. Good place to come for a drink or 4. The food is decent. Although I am concerned when I look at the menu and there a number of things crossed out with a sharpie marker. I mean it's ok if they are getting ready for a menu overhaul but it looks tacky or it tells me they aren't successful on the food side. read more
