I really like the menu. We started with this very large plate of tortilla chips with salsa. The chips arrived warm. The appetizer could easily be shared by 3 or even 4 people. I also ordered the Italian beef stuffed egg rolls. These are small eggrolls cut on the diagonal. For me, I probably would not order those again. There are other appetizers that I would enjoy more. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The manager stopped by to check up on us to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything. I ordered the 3 slider burgers. I chose the fries as a side and it came with a small cup of creamy coleslaw. The slider burgers were thick and had that great grilled flavor. Recommend this entree. We ordered the chicken fingers entree, also. I don't know how many fingers were in the order, but we had about 5 or 6 fingers leftover to bring home. The prices are very fair. The music is loud. Game day - 3 of us arrived 20 minutes beforehand to find that every table was taken. Many large tables reserved with 1 person. Feel bad for the servers because it didn't appear there would be any turn. There were 3 spots left at the bar but our fanatic didn't like the obstructed screen view. Didn't take long before someone else nabbed them. And then there were none. We left. Crowd fairly young...J.T.'s in Lombard much friendlier so probably won't come back to this locale in Carol Stream unless I/we want to play pool. The billiards room looked fun. read more

Overall this place is not bad and is way better than bulldogs. There are some good menu items here. Quality- the fish tacos were pretty high quality, lots of vegetables and fish were stuffed in it. The fries are not worth it in my opinion. They're pretty thin and not salted well. The chicken tenders were really dry, I would have liked some sauce on the side to offset it. The tots were pretty standard but not crispy at all. Some were a bit soggy. The burger is pretty good. They're generous with how big the patty is and tastes good. I found the holiday drinks to be a bit boring when it comes to taste. Quantity- you get quite a bit for 11 dollars a plate. Atmosphere- you get a lot more natural lighting and space here than you do at bulldogs. Service- good waitress. read more

Feels like a hometown bar. I'm giving 5 stars, not because it's the best restaurant / bar, but because I gave 4 stars to Bulldog Ale House across the street, and JTs is better. Came in for a beer and the atmosphere and environment was pretty good. Lots of people sitting around the bar and tables. So I decided to stay and get dinner. Well I have been here a few times but just for drinks. But today my friend and I decided to order the JT's nacho platter. All I can say is that's a meal for 4! Every chip was covered in delicious ingredients. No naked chips here, even down to the bottom of the huge pile of nachos. For $13 this is worth it. Ambiance is very comfortable and everyone is super friendly. Also they have a great selection of colder than cold bottle beers. Stop by and have a great time! You won't be disappointed. read more

I think I had higher expectations for this restaurant. It is in Carol Stream right across the parking lot from Bulldogs. They have gaming machines towards the rear. We happened to run across JT's in April and have been here many times since then. It's just a nice small, casual bar. No frills, not overly lavish. Sometimes we just want some place that is quick and comfortable that gives us great service when we want dinner and drinks. We always sit at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly and attentive. Great pours (1/4 the glass isn't foam). We like the chicken enchilada (ingredients are so fresh) and the Mexican mule with tequila. Stuffed peppers soup was really good too. We will be back. read more

We ordered takeout this evening and once again they knocked it out of the park. Right now they have daily deals going on. Friday they have the $10 fish fry. My dad raves about it! It comes with fish, fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. You get a lot of food for $10. I ordered the buffalo wings and they were delicious! They were huge and not too saucy which I like. See, I've always seen JT's on the corner of my eye when my friends and eye go to Bulldogs right across the street. One of my friends recommended that we come in for lunch here on a whim to meet in the middle. Upon coming in, it looks like an updated saloon bar. I've seen other reviews on here where people complain about the volume of the music, it was actually a pleasant level that when our group was talking, we could actually hear them! We came in and there was a special going on for drinks, and afternoon drinking on a weekend is never a bad when it's a deal and with great company! We ordered the fried cheese curds for the table and I got the blank burger with blue cheese. I got two drinks, a Captain Morgan with ginger ale and with Dr Pepper. Unfortunately the drinks were a little on the lighter pour, but good thing the food tasted great this chilly afternoon. The service was solid, our drinks were quintessentially full the whole time and the waitress was very attentive! The only small little snub I had was more of a mix-up with one of our meal orders, but it was revised and fixed with no extra cost. I would definitely come again! Let's go! read more

First visit - although I was a huge fan of the Roosevelt location for years. So it's not a huge place, but the two of we gals found a table quickly. Service was fast. The food was good - altways is at JT's locations. As usual, I had to ask the wait staffer to turn the music down a wee bit. Why in the world do there establishments think we want to dine in and NOT BE ABLE to CONVERSE at a table? Just turns me off. I also hate all the TVs - but I get that it's typical for a sports bar atmosphere. I can deal with the TVs if on silent, but the music just needs to come down to a talkable level. 3 stars for food 2 stars for ambiance 4 stars for service 4 stars for prices Also I appreciated that some beer menu items had prices shown - but others did not. Stopped by last Saturday around 2pm - it was surprisingly crowded! I say that because the weather was amazing so was surprised to see so many inside watching sports. We sat at the bar and ordered the fried pickles - I'd say these are the best I've ever had! We also tried some wings - 5 with dry rub and 5 buffalo. Pulled into the parking lot. It was only Dave and the cooks working. Waited a little longer but the food is worth it. Have come here numerous times after my boys Carol Stream Panthers football games and also just to hang out. Foods always been good. Just wanted to support the local business during the crappy quarantine. JT's didn't disappoint. Dave was very apologetic about the wait time but didn't need to be. He was working his tail off. 4 other cars waiting for their food as well. Got home and everything was there and hot. Couldn't have asked for better service and quality of the food considering everything going on. Wings were huge and great as always. Very good food, unique atmosphere (mostly: loud), and friendly service are the hallmarks of this sports bar. I had my 3-year old daughter with me today, so wherever I ended up, needed to have stuff she could eat. Their menu is fairly deep, and based on the two things we had, I'm sure you can find something to your liking. If a place has fish, I will probably get the fish, and that's the case with JT's. I ordered the fish fry, while I got my daughter 3 sliders. As far as I could tell, she loved the sliders, and judging by my one bite, you'll probably love them too, since the burgers are heartily seasoned and cooked perfectly medium-well by default. We both got fries (shoestring-style) with our orders, which was either sitting in grease or perfectly crisp, depending where on the plate they ended up. They were, however, salted perfectly, which I appreciated. The hush puppies are, surprisingly, a highlight of the meal; normally deep-fried corn meal, these were also tossed with various spices and herbs, which I appreciated very much. The battered coating of the fish was also given the same treatment, and the fish itself was soft and flaky. My only complaint is that it was also a bit too greasy (yes, I know this is bar food, but still!) Overall a good experience and great value! read more
