Had a bit of a rocky start at this bar -- the bartender came off pretty rude when I asked her to fix my bill. We were there for a birthday and I ordered a round of drinks for the birthday girl and my tab ended up having food items that our friends/our table did not order. I asked her to fix the bill (it was $30 difference) and she snapped at us, which soured the mood early on. But to her credit, she later apologized for coming off so rude and aggressive. That gesture made a big difference and somewhat turned the night around. I really appreciated that she said sorry and took accountability. Drinks were okay. Food was alright. It would have been better if we were served our food when the it was first ready because by the time it was brought to us, everything was cold. Ambiance was chill. Bar was cool and would have been a good vibe, had we not started off rocky.

Visited it later in the evening and had a very good experience. Very good burger and sliders, quick service and very friendly bartender. Cook was amazing too. Very chill atmosphere with corner for pool if you are into it. I liked everything there

The pool was free. The food was great. The music was country. The bartender was nice.

We came on a Saturday afternoon. One waitress doing the bar and serving food. We waited awhile for our food to come. Then we waited a while for the waiter to get our checks. Food was good. I ordered onion rings and it was crispy. The Mac and cheese looks good. Brussel sprouts were overcooked. If you use a credit card to pay, they charge a small fee. FYI.

I can't speak for the food but I can speak for the decor and the service. I usually don't leave a bad review if the bartender is a little rude but in this case we didn't make it past the front door. I have never been treated this poorly. The bar is dingy with left over New Year's Eve decorations on the table. I heard the food was good I was excited to try. There was three of us in our party we walked into "Odear bar" the place wasn't busy there were a few people talking to the bartender I didn't see a sign that said wait to be seated so we strolled into and sat at a table the bartender yelled you can't sit there and you need to check in at the bar. I said oh I didn't see that sign she said I have worked at bars for 20 years you always check in at the bar before you sit. Anyway it left me feeling unwelcome and not hungry anymore. I can go anywhere for rude service. I don't care how good the food is there is no need for rude service. Won't be back too many restaurants in Portland to waste my time and money here.

Great food, great drinks! Met a buddy here last night and wow, I was very impressed. Got some cauliflower, steak bites, shrimp and grits and some libations as well. Of course! The steak was excellent and more like a meal than a starter, and the shrimp and grits, so unexpectedly good. Service was good, these folks treat everyone equal and I like a local bar that makes regulars and passers by feel welcome and like family, both. Curb appeal is nice, for our area (I live close), outdoor smoking section is very clean. Inside is dark, cool and also, very clean! Love that. A not so hidden gem in Portland.

It's a bar/pool hall/restaurant and while the decor is nothing fancy at all, the food is.... AMAZING! I had the Smokey Bacon Blue Cheese Burger and it was the best burger I have had in a LONG time! From first bite to last it was absolutely DELICIOUS! And a really good size as well! I upgraded the fries to the sweet potato fries and they were perfect! It came with an aïoli sauce, and they also brought me ranch and ketchup the aïoli was really good and I don't know what kind of ketchup or ranch they use but those were really good as well! My score: A+ really good food and filled my up!

Was excited to try O'Dear Bar based on the stellar reviews I've been reading for months so we selected this as our venue for a gathering of friends that had not gotten together in a year. There were 10 of us and even though we put several of the live edge tables together, it was challenging because of the non-uniform shape of the tables. Many of us couldn't even reach the table! But it's about the food. The day we were there, the oven wasn't working so we couldn't get the poppers or the bacon wrapped dates, two of the items we wanted to try. Many in our group opted for the pulled pork sliders and said they were very good. At just $6 each, they were filling, and those that ordered two, took one home. A friend said the fried chicken sandwich was tasty. I went with a bacon jam, blue cheese burger, medium. It arrived ice cold and had been cooked all the way through to well done. No juices to be found. I get that there was a large group and it was lunchtime so probably a reduced staff, but food should arrive hot, not luke warm, and definitely not cold. And if you are a person who orders a burger medium, there is no way you can eat it well done. The fries may have been good, I don't know, they were also cold. Very disappointing. There are lots of appetizers on the happy hour menu at a reduced price. I may come back during happy hour so I can get the poppers, bacon wrapped dates and the wings plus one of the fancy cocktails. Will wait until I'm in this part of town, maybe at Cascade Station, because I won't drive all the way out there just for this as a destination. If I go back, I'll update this review as everyone has an off day. Our waitress was great! She did her best to get us to stop talking so she could get everyone's orders. Was always filling water glasses. Cheerful, friendly, helpful. She never asked us to leave even though we stayed well past when we finished our lunch. Inside was done nice - stage area, bar, pool tables. Big parking lot out back.

O'dear me... butter my biscuits and call me a foodie! I never thought I'd find a restaurant this good in a part of town where even the pigeons look sketchy. I was feeling a little adventurous and played a game of roulette with Yelp to discover something new. At first glance, the bar looks like a hipsterfied strip club. Rocking a completely black interior with pops of vintage influence, the real star of the show is an impressive black & white mural that fills the entire rear of the dining room. I think I'm a fan! Let me start with the incredible server, Daniel. This guy was running around the bar the entire night, making sure everyone's needs were met. He was like a superhero wearing an apron instead of a cape. I was impressed by his ability to balance a tray of drinks on one hand while using the other to high-five customers. What a guy! But let's get to the real reason we're all here: the food. The pulled pork nachos were simply remarkable. They were so good, in fact, I may have to request them as my last meal if I'm ever on death row. The bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers were sensational, with just the right amount of spice that made my taste buds want to have a dance party... complete with disco lights and confetti! If you're looking for a good time in Parkrose (no judgment from me) O'Dear Bar is the place to be. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself ordering those pulled pork nachos every time you visit. Speaking of which... What did the dad tell his son when he offered him homemade nachos? "These are nacho best." All joking aside, do yourself a favor and check out O'Dear Bar - your taste buds AND your dad will thank you!

Spicy Bloody Mary with a large slice of bacon.

I would have to rate a definite yes for a local pub. We ordered everything off the happy hour menu and hoped for the best. As far as bar drinks go...The Bloody Mary was delicious, a nice spicy start. Wings are a bit bulky but good, Brussel sprouts..crispy ones were great other a little soggy, cauliflower bites , not for me. Stuffed jalapeños..delicious, burger a little over cooked but nice flavor and juicy, stuffed dates were a little too blue cheesy for me, Mac and cheese!!!! Mac and cheese has great flavor. A nice place for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Got a drink with my brother on a Friday night. Did the All Thai'D up (Thai chili rum, pineapple, lime, coconut, basil and ginger) while he got a Harley Quinn (House Habanero vodka, passion fruit and lime) cocktail. I also did get the brisket Mac and cheese. Food and drinks were excellent. Bartender seemed to be the only one tending bar for a Friday night but was as attentive as possible. The bar seemed like it has something for everybody with pool tables, tvs, a music spot, slots, and a Photo Booth

You can absolutely smell the fish and vinegar as soon as you walk through the door, which I think gives the place a very homey pub feel. I ordered a spiked peach Arnold Palmer, which I enjoyed (and it was pleasantly strong) and a glass of the house white, which was good for the price. Our server was very fast and attentive. To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely hope to return. I highly recommend this place as a refuge during the cold winter months!

Reservation confirmation said, that door opens at 6:30pm and dinner service starts at 7pm. Phew, I'm sometimes bad with predicting the traffic patterns, so that gives you a little cushion. So I stepped inside. There was music playing from the back of the building and I just kept moving towards the music. After 2 doorways, my husband remarked it was like we were entering a speakeasy. We stepped into a living room and proceeded through another doorway to find an open kitchen and jaw dropping red alder dining table. Standing in the kitchen was Chef Riley Eckersley and he greeted us like we were old friends. He had a couple of cocktails ready to pour and explained his concept of his place that has only been open for 3 weeks. Imagine an intimate dinner party (6 guests the night I was there) gathering for conversation while being taken on a culinary journey around Oregon. Throughout the evening, every detail was carefully curated, from the ingredients (from the coast to the mountains, he covered every corner), to the plating, music, and drinks (everything from mezcal, sake, orange wine, etc). The whole experience lasts 2 1/2-3 hours and I enjoyed every minute. I will certainly return as the menu changes with the seasons of Oregon. We began the evening as strangers, and ended as close friends.

We walked in at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday night and was kind of greeted by one of the servers. She wasn't too friendly and seemed to be irritated that we said we'd wait for a table as opposed to sitting at the bar. Once seated, that same server came over to try to take our orders and once again seemed irritated that we weren't ready to order. Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. The toasted baguettes were so good dipped into that white wine broth. I wish this dish came with skinny fries but it was also so good as is. Would definitely order this again! Field Greens - I asked for this to come out with my meal but it came out about 10 minutes before the entrees came out. It was very light and refreshing. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic. It really reminded me of the small bistros in France that we frequented while we were out there. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

We got seated right away, the hostess was friendly and mentioned the birthday listed on the reservation. To start, we ordered two cocktails, the beef tartare, and the shishitos peppers. The beef tartare was incredibly fresh and flavorful and the mustard vinaigrette was the perfect touch. The blistered shishitos were good, however, they were underwhelming compared to everything else and we probably wouldn't order them again. For our entree, we shared the Brandt Ranch Ribeye which was phenomenal - definitely one of our top 5 steaks we've ever had. We prefer medium rare and it was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crème fraiche to not overpower the flavor of the steak. Plus, the bacon vinaigrette went very well with the entire meal. We were incredibly impressed with the meal and the atmosphere, and we'd join again for sure. The area in which our experience lacked was the service, which was disappointing and didn't make us feel great ordering anything else. After we got our appetizers, and then entree, we were not checked on once and I had to wave down our server for another round of drinks. At the same time, he was supposed to get us a water refill which we never ended up getting. Our server didn't mention anything in regards to a birthday, never asked how our cocktails or food was, checked on every table around us (besides us) and we didn't even get a thank you as we passed him heading out the door. Because I've consistently heard amazing things about Laurelhurst, I'll take this as a fluke because I definitely believe in second chances, especially when the food was that good, but I hope the next server we get is more attentive and friendly. Neither of us would expect a birthday beverage or dessert, but after dining at several places where they offer a glass of champagne, a small dessert, etc. it definitely stands out when an establishment like this doesn't offer or acknowledge a celebration. The steak frites was a classic, steak was a good portion and cooked medium rare, but I'm sure if you wanted it more cooked through, you could make that request. The fries were definitely a standout, great texture and the garlic flavor gave a good contrast to the steak. Spent the night at a nearby hotel for an early morning flight out of PDX. I did a search on Yelp…read morefor a nearby sports bar, and Sidelines was the first one recommended. I was not disappointed. I tried the Tri Tip sandwich which was smoked out back on the Traeger. Absolutely delicious!!! Service was amazing too!! Loren was awesome!! Super friendly and gave amazing service with a big smile!! Big selection of brewskiis..... plus I had to try their "Swish" which was on their cocktail list. It was amazing!!! I would highly recommend Sidelines as THE BEST sports bars in the PDX area.

It wasn't super busy but it did seem like she was the only wait staff working at the time. We ended up getting some potato skins for the table to share which were pretty good and honestly my favorite appetizer to start off with. My brothers girlfriend and I shared some chicken tenders and my mom and dad shared a club sandwich and a caesar salad, which I stole some bites of, and my brother went with a burger. All great easy things to eat after the flight and to keep us full before heading to a big dinner. This spot is a pretty decent size and super close to the airport so if you are starving after your flight and need a quick bite this spot is easy to run in and grab a quick bite!
