Even though I bought my car at a dealer close to home, I'm working in Indy every week and my local dealer didn't have any appointments at times I could make for a couple of weeks. I have been wanting a Lexus for awhile and when I was pre-approved through Capital One, I decided it was a good time to find my vehicle. Searching through vehicles available at O'Brien Toyota, which was a preferred dealership, I was able to find a Lexus NX 200t. I called ahead because I wanted to make sure that I understood the process once I actually went into the dealership and I spoke to Chris Larson. We set a time for Saturday for me to go in and take a look at the vehicle, test drive it and then also decide if I wanted to proceed with the purchase. Initially I wanted to change the day to Friday but Chris was off and offered to come in on his day off but I told him that wasn't necessary and we did move it to an earlier time on Saturday. When I arrived, the sales guys let Chris know I was there and he had pulled the car out front so once we did the initial stuff, we took the car out for a spin. I did notice a few things like some gunk on part of the dash (that they cleaned off) and there is some kind of residue on the display that they weren't able to get off that I have to address. As with any dealership, they told me they'd send my info to other financers to compete and hopefully give me a better rate. They did get me a slightly better rate through Toyota Financing so I went with that lender. The next step was the financing and for the most part this was ok though I found the process to be more stressful than anything. There were optional coverages that were presented to me and the finance guy, Kyle I think his name is, made it a point to mention that tires were expensive (duh) and that I could cancel if I later decided I didn't want the coverage. Only issue is canceling the coverage doesn't reduce your payment but it gets taken off at the end of the loan. Once the finance stuff was done, I was congratulated for getting into debt and not for my new car which I felt that was a weird thing to say. Also the finance guy needs to keep tissues in his office because he had sneezed a couple of times in his hands then used hand sanitizer to clean them which is wildly unsanitary. Overall, it was an ok experience. One thing that I'm now having to figure out which didn't come up while I was at the dealership is that the Bluetooth in the car doesn't seem to work and there's a chip in the windshield that I didn't see and wasn't pointed out when I was there. It's my own fault, I guess, for not doing a thorough enough inspection. Thanks to Chris for taking good care of me and being so nice and making this big purchase a pleasant experience. I'd have rated higher if some things had been tweaked and if they had taken sone time to clean out the glove conoartmentnof the previous owners documents. Here for preventive service. An oil change was included in the package however my car was not due for one. They adjusted the price to complete the services minus the oil change. Upon arrival I was able to roll right in. The service technician came right over and got my information. I was given an approximate time for the services and headed over to the lounge for coffee and to browse the internet. They came out and talked to me when the services were complete. I drove 4 hours to see this car and when I got there the car was not as described or as nice as the pictures shown in fact, the car was quite dirty and was not even vacuumed before I came. The car did not have car mats either. Poor service on what I was looking for and what I expected. Although they were quite clear on what I needed to do to get the payment money for a cash deal. They charged for the repair-which I can understand; but with the amount of trouble O'Brien had originally put me thru I believe TOYOYA MOTOR COMPANY could have offered a courtesy repair as good customer service. The repair was not very expensive...The original dealer and Service Manager did not follow-up except on the initial antagonistic response. I had a 12:45 appointment for an oil change. The guy said it'd be about an hour and a half. I could tell they were busy and they always take a good hour. At an hour and a half I asked him how much longer. He said he didn't know and then preceded to bitch about how he wanted to go home at 3 but that wasn't happening. 2 hours later (from check-in) they hadn't even started on my car. Hubby and I bought a new vehicle from O'Brien and drove all the way from Detroit to do it because the dealers in Detroit couldn't manage to find us the vehicle we wanted. We dealt with Will, who is a new salesman who moved over to Sales after a long tenure in Parts. He promptly responded to all of our questions. In fact, he had Trevor mentoring him throughout because of the complications of the out of state sale. When we arrived in Indy, the vehicle was prepped and waiting for us. In fact, HUGE shoutout to Will for complying with our particular prep instructions of NOT disinfecting the vehicle due to my wife's chemical sensitivities. Between Will, Trevor and the Finance guy, everything was clearly explained--it was very, very streamlined and seamless. They have wifi and two customer sitting areas so I can work while I wait so I don't have to wait until I'm out of the office to schedule an appointment. I took my car in on Monday for an oil change and to repair/replace a tire that had a slow leak. They changed the oil and took a look at the tire. They said that there was a nail and it would need to be replaced, I said OK and then they told me that they did not have the tire in stock (which is understandable). Then I asked it the tire could be patched and they told me it was in the side wall and could not do the repair, then they showed me a picture and the location of the puncture was less than an inch from the middle of the tread. They lied to me! Against my better judgement we made an appointment for Thursday to replace the tire. I showed up and got checked in and waited in the waiting room, about 1.5 hours later I asked how my car repair was going and they realized that they had not even started to replace the tire and that it would be another 2 hours. Everytime, I go to the service center I feel like I am being lied to and subsequently I do not trust anything that they tell me. I will never buy a Toyota again, I will never go to this service center again! read more

This is my second time picking up a company car from an east side dealership (I live between Lafayette and Indy). It was a ways to drive to pick up the vehicle, but worth the drive for the great service! I feel bad for Trevor, the guy that had my new Venza on the lot for five months due to a paperwork issue with the fleet company. But he was very nice about it. I did forget my garage door opener on the visor of my old vehicle and he gave it to me prior to leaving. Thanks-I would have gotten in trouble with my husband! lol If I lived closer, I would bring the car here for service since everyone is so nice. And I LOVE the hybrid Venza. Highly recommend this vehicle. My parents have had a Highlander and a rav4, the Venza is better than the rav4 in my opinion. Took my car to O'Brien Toyota for service for the first time this week and I was very pleased. I bought my Toyota out of town about a month ago. So, taking it to the originating dealer for service wouldn't be very feasible. This lead me to check out a Toyota service centers around Indy. I selected O'Brien because, as an Indy native, it's the first name that pops into my head when I hear "Toyota." It also happens to be the closest center. I was able to book everything online, which is a huge plus for me. I'm usually on the go, so places that require a phone call to book usually get skipped over by me. I booked on the Toyota app (which even gave me a breakdown on service costs) and got a timely confirmation email. Day of service, I arrived about 20 minutes early, but they were ready and took my car immediately. Check in was quick and easy. I purchased the Toyota Platinum Service Plan membership when I bought the vehicle. They didn't even need me to dig out my membership papers. I just told them and they were able to look it up on the computer with no hassle. After check in, I proceeded to the service waiting area. This is the only area that brought the review down to four stars from five. It was clean and presentable but rather bare bones in comparison to some other places I've had service done. Some complimentary coffee and bottled water would go a long way to improve the waiting experience but it wasn't bad at all. The area did have a desk and wifi, which I was appreciative of, as I had some work to get done while I waited. Overall, I didn't even have to wait all that long. I don't think I was waiting much more than a half an hour. In addition to the scheduled service, they did a full inspection and washed my car for me. Then they parked it right outside the waiting room door. Quick, easy, and convenient! I was very pleased overall and plan to make O'Brien my regular go-to place for maintenance. However, if I ever need service that will take awhile, I will take advantage of their free shuttle or plan to have my husband pick me up rather than wait. read more

This was the worst experience that I ever had having my vehicle serviced. My SUV wouldn't start so I had it towed to O'Brien on a Saturday. I was assured that they'd take a look at it on Monday. I never heard back on Monday, so I started texting, calling and leaving voicemails on Tuesday. We received no response. Getting concerned, we went to the dealership on Wednesday, where we were told that my texts were not answered because the person who took my information on Saturday was out sick! They said that they would look at it and give us a call in two hours. Again we never heard back. At long last I was able speak to someone on Thursday and my SUV was finally looked at. I was sent a quote for the work to be done including charges that I never approved or was informed of. I tried calling, texting and leaving voicemail requesting that someone get back to me to discuss the quote. True to form, I never heard back. I reached someone on Friday and got most of my questions regarding the quote resolved. It took until Friday afternoon to finally get my vehicle back! All it needed was a new battery! read more

I needed an oil change and for my tires to be rotated. I had just gotten back from a road trip and was about 200 miles over when I needed to get service. At other dealerships I would not have been able to get in for an oil change and tire rotation for another two weeks. Here I was able to get in within a few days! I came in for my appointment at 8 and I was able to get out and be on my way quickly. The workers were all super friendly and helpful-- I cannot compliment them enough. Even though I don't know much about cars I appreciated that they took the time to explain my car's reports to me to back up any recommendations they made. It was also a super convenient location for the Indy area! It is nice to know that I have a reliable Toyota dealership that can service my car as needed! read more

Service reservation for oil change, tire rotation. The service counter team in no manner friendly. This is my second service visit. Upon CK in the service representative attempted to charge me 150.00 for oil change, tire balancing. The last visit oil and tire rotation not balancing was under 90.00. Counter told me it was 50.00 to balance my tires. The last visit it was 25.00. I was informed my car was ready I walked the entire car lot ie front to back my car was not there. I had been under the impression I'd been charged twice for rental as seemingly duplicate statements appeared on my card. This initially confused me. When I came in for an oil change on 9/3 I mentioned that my brakes were making a grinding noise, they said they'd check. Oil change was completed and when I asked about the brakes the service attendant said that there were no notes but he'd go back and ask the technician. He said my brakes were fine and perhaps it was just some dirt or rust on the pads. I washed my car, being sure to spray my pads to clear any debris. They didn't make noise for a day or two, then it started back up. I went in again on 9/10. Again I was told my brakes were fine but my emergency brake didn't fully disengage, though not enough for the light to come on, so I had to be sure to fully lower the e brake. Made sure to do this but the grinding noise just continued. I went to Bill Estes Toyota on 9/26 and they said my brakes needed to be changed. There's been no noise since. I'm seriously disturbed that I kept being told my brakes were fine despite numerous complaints. A complete lack of regard for my safety and possible costs from further damage caused by not replacing my brakes. read more

I was extremely clear about my time line for finding a vehicle, went back and forth a few days, several phone calls and texts into the evening thinking I've found the one. As I've finished proving my payment information the sneaky sales guy says already we'll see you in 3 months when it's ready! EXCUSE ME?! Sir no. The worst dealership experience I've ever encountered! We took my daughter's car there for ANOTHER diagnostic check 2 months after we had JUST paid them over $4000 to REBUILD her motor!!! They were EXTREMELY RUDE and advised the motor that they had JUST rebuilt and charged us $4000 for was bad; they advised it would be another $8000 to put a new motor in. We refused to let them do any additional work on her car & told them we'll come pick the car up. It was then that they told us they would not release the car until a $1100 fee was paid for the diagnostic check (breakdown of motor). The general manager agreed that we should had been notified of the charge to break down the motor prior to the breakdown and waived the $1100 fee. When we spoke with the technician over the phone, the technician told us that we "messed up his paycheck" because the fee was waived by the general manager. When we went to pick up the vehicle, they had completely vandalized my daughters car, stole all of her belongings that were in the truck and cracked the windshield of her car, the backseat was filthy dirty greasy etc. her light beige interior is. now black. My daughter had boots and shoes in the car - they left ONE of each so that she couldn't have a matching pair. When asked how all the damage occurred and where her belongings were the technician giggled and said "you get what you pay for". They gave the motor back to us broken down into SMALL pieces and said they LOST the key to her car. They told us we would have to pay for another key until they could FIND hers. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone - EVER!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I spoke with a salesperson named Moe and he was awful. When he found out I wasn't ready to buy he wasn't interested in helping me at all. When we got back from the test drive he grabbed the keys and locked the door not even giving me the chance to look at the rest of the car. Took my car in for routine maintenance which included a timing belt & water pump to the tune of $1,300. About 2 weeks after the repair, I started to notice a coolant leak and took it back. They assured me it was residual coolant from the last repair and I didn't have a leak. I had a coolant leak. Finally got it back into service less than 1 month after the initial service and guess what: faulty water pump. No big deal, figured they would just swap out the faulty part and we could all move on with our lives. Was I wrong. They are claiming that since it's a Lexus part, and the labor was "fine" that I would have to pay to replace the faulty water pump they put in my car. Moral of this story - don't take your vehicle here for service. They do not stand behind their work. Now I have to take my car to another dealership and pay for the repair a 2nd time. Overall a very disappointing visit. I came in to see a new Corolla. The first salesman was too busy talking to receptionist to notice me. The second was too involved with his phone to even look up. I should have left then but I moved over to the sales desk and ask the gentleman that was flossing his teeth if I could get some help. He interrupted the salesman talking to receptionist to help me. I told him what I was looking for and he said he would bring one up to look at. I waited for a while and not sure where he went to get car ? My Tacoma would not start on a Wednesday evening. I called the dealership where I bought the truck as well as a Rav 4 and had all my routine service done here. I was told to tow the truck to the dealership and they would take care of me. It was delivered at 10:30 AM Thursday. My Tacoma sat outside in their lot all day and all night Thursday, all day and all night Friday. They didn't even get it into the service garage to diagnose the issue. I spoke to the Service Manager on Friday afternoon, he would not commit to any time to get my Tacoma into the garage to diagnose the problem He stated "I'm 3 weeks behind, I may get it in next week". He did not care that I was a long term customer or that I didn't have a vehicle. I had to pay an additional $173 to tow my Tacoma to another dealer to get my Tacoma fixed. And the service manager seemed more than happy that I was towing my truck away from his dealership I will never buy another Toyota from this dealer and never have any service performed here again! read more
