My wife and I were traveling on I20 just outside of Abilene, A loud noise came from the back and a complete loss of power, we rolled to a stop on the side of the road. A call to AAA connected us to Obar Wrecking Service, what a blessing. Garrett , the operator assured my wife all would proceed with utmost haste and care. When he connected our Grand Waggoner he was very tactful in ensuring the vehicle did not have any damage due to the loading. Once tied down he travelled over one hundred miles to the nearest dealership. Garrett you are a fine representative of your firm! read more

I put in a request through my insurance provider, Progressive, to come tow my car to an auto repair shop because my cars engine will not turn, and I waited almost three hours for the tow truck when it said it would be there within the hour. Progressive got in touch and turns out they were never even on the way to my location those whole three hours. I understand if staffing or how busy your guys are might be an issue, but maybe call your fucking customer and let them know they would be sitting outside away from their car for almost three hours. read more

Talked a good game. Lied about storage and didn't use the heavy duty wrecker to tow. So they split load then charged storage fee after saying it would be free. No notice or communication. read more

I have AAA and have been trying to get their contracted towing company, O'bar, to arrive at a shop during business hours for 3 days. Most recently this towing company attempted to tow my vehicle, after I had canceled it since it was past 5PM, without me being present. They then interjected themselves between myself, as the AAA customer, and the automotive shop as some sort of middleman sending me voicemails and canceling the tow because of a balance due, which would be paid obviously when I got to the shop and was ready to have the vehicle towed. I tried speaking with someone at O'bar who was rude and hung up on me forcing me to contact AAA, again. I spoke with a supervisor there who contacted O'bar to inform them of AAA policies and procedures, and they were supposed to resume the scheduled tow. I checked my AAA App, which said they would be there on time, arrived at the shop, and without notice O'bar didn't show up. I checked my App again and it was rescheduled, for the 11th time over 3 days, to two hours later. Very unreliable, unprofessional, and difficult to contact with wait times for their dispatch exceeding 20 minutes. read more

I had to call this wrecker service to take my van from 1 garage to a different garage due to being taken advantage of. I was waiting on the wrecker who went into the shop I was taking it from, watched them look at me and laugh. Hey, my van is old, I am disabled and need the lift. It was worth it to me.... I still would use the service if I had to, but was disappointed when that happened. read more

Our truck got stuck in a ditch. We had two other wrecker services come out to try and get the truck out. One would not even attempt, the other got stuck getting out there. We have AAA and AAA had OBar Wrecker Service come out to us. Daniel stayed in communication with me about where he was. When Daniel arrived, he was prompt in getting his work accomplished. He was clear about what he could do or not do. He was confident that he would be able to get the truck out. The County Road we had to travel to get to the truck was very muddy in places and he told me what I would need to do to drive the truck out in those places. He stayed in front of me in case I got stuck and he had to pull me out. I am EXTREMELY pleased with OBar Wrecker Service and the communication and the actual work. I am very grateful for their willingness to help us with a situation for us, was impossible. read more

Ran out of gas on I20. Called AAA and they said Obars would be there to bring us gas within an hour. They never came, never called us to say they weren't coming, and we had to reach out again to AAA to get someone else. In the end we were stranded for 5 hours. read more

My vehicle was towed on my bad but when I called to get the total to get it out they told me cash only which I understand but upon arriving and handing the money over I didn't have exact change and the lady told me I don't have change which if you receive cash only how do you not have change read more

If there were 10 stars I'd rate them all 10! My 18 year old son & a friend got stranded in San Angelo last night @ a concert. It's 4:00 am & he just arrived safely with his truck & his friend. O'Bar was SO kind to drive both ways to pick them up. Precious cargo & they did the job. I wouldn't say it was cheap but it saved us a lot of headache. I'd recommend them to everyone! Thank you O'Bar! read more

The fact that I am taking time to write a review for a wrecker service really says it all. Usually you get your car towed, when the need arises, and you forget about it. In the last couple of years, I've required the services of these guys more than a few times. The first time was luck of the draw. I just went the wrecker service the police called. However, I was impressed with the service I received. I don't know if this is common with all services, but I was towed in from the freeway and couldn't get my wife on the phone. My car, with only 60k miles on it, had thrown a rod while driving. The guy was super nice and gave me a ride back to my house! Turns out O'Bar was also the service my insurance used for roadside assistance. They came to my rescue several more times for reasons like running out of gas, leaving my lights on and a flat tire. Every time, they were prompt and very friendly. When a guy ran a stop sign and totaled my Honda Pilot, the police officer asked me if I had a preference about towing companies, I spoke up. I even called O'Bars, myself. Even the dispatcher was friendly and helpful. As long as I love in Abilene, I won't call anyone else. If all these example weren't enough, the other guy's insurance called me a few days latter. O'Bars wouldn't release my car until I OKed it. I'm so glad they did. I hadn't gotten all my things out, yet. If they had just given it to them, my things would have been off to the Dallas area. For me, it's O'Bars all the way! read more

I guess it depends on which end of the call you are on. My experiences with O'bar wrecking were not so pleasant. When they towed my car it damaged my vehicle because it was towed by the tie rods. After discussion they did end up taking care of the repair, but that was a shady experience too. I wish I could say this was the only bad experience I've had, but it wasn't. read more

Friendly, courteous service. Last night my wife's Blue Toyota Rav4 would not start (and I was out of town), she called State Farm road service, and they called O'Bar Wrecker service. After loading the car on the wrecker, (my wife had called a ride), and she told the wrecker driver that she would follow him to LIthia Toyota to see what needed to leave it at Toyota. The driver assured my wife that he knew how to drop it off at Toyota, and it would be okay. And he did take care of everything. I called Toyota first thing the next morning, and they were already working on it. A BIG thank you to the driver for helping my wife and taking care of dropping it off as needed. Again Thank you, so much. George and Betty read more

Service was alright took about 45 minutes for them to show up... The lady processing my credit card payment charged my card Twice for the agreed amount, I have called 6 times for reimbursement, I am always told we just refunded it to your card it will show up in 7-10 business days, now 6 months later I still have not been reimbursed. There is some shady business tactics going on. If you must use them pay cash and do not give them your card information. read more
